I’ve not seen refs these awful since the Fail Mary travesty at Seattle with the fake refs.
How much leeway does a coach have in terms of complaining to the refs? Chryst has every right to be standing there telling the refs nearby what pathetic sacks of shit they are.
These refs must be calling the Vikings game, tomorrow.

This is a game where Coan would have been better. That throw was Favrian in terms of throwing back across the field and the fumble was really poor ball security. No doubt Mertz gives you better chances against OSU or an SEC team because he can make plays Coan physically can’t. But Mertz will make mistakes that might cost you games against decent teams

Mertz looks like a guy who is playing in his 3rd start today. Lots of little mistakes.
It would be interesting to go back over the last dozen or so games in Evanston. Seems like they are well above their norms with penalties and turnovers and sloppy play.
Mertz is playing like....a freshman.
