That pick was like a 25 yard punt. Not a big deal on 3rd down, but Mertz has not looked good outside of the PA pass TD.
Mertz is putrid today, other than the TD. Needs to find his inner peace at half.
We have to be encouraged they have played an awful first half and itβs 7-7. Just need to keep it close and start executing.
Should be a catch.....IMO
These refs have been turribke
Definitely a bobble but watch them get this overturned.
We would be crying for this to a catch.
Never had control. What's wrong with these officials?
Shouldβve stuck to call on field on this one.
I wonder if Sean McDonough likes being wrong on all the calls, too?
An obvious hold on the edge there missed.
Call the fucking holding... good grief!
one of the worst reversals i've seen.

Heβs been correct.
at least 2 obv holds missed
Hard to complain when youβve had 4 terrible turnovers.
Wow... not even a review? He bobbled that...
D backs inconsistent, probably not a championship contender this year, anyway. Gonna take some lumps with Indiana and Iowa still to come.
Be nice to have the timeouts Mertz cost them not getting snaps off.
Mertz and Badgers reading too many press clippings?
A handoff? Stupid.
That handoff cost them 20 seconds.
lol now call a hold
Officials now call a hold.
No feel for the game, running to the center of the field. Yikes.
It was
4 turnovers , tough calls by the refs, Bucky down 14-7 at the half.
Typical shit environment, shit refs, and shit execution in Evanston. They are in a fight now letβs see what happens in the second half. If I were Northwestern I couldnβt have asked for much better yet only up 7.
Ugly first half. Might as well get hammered.
Props to the Wildcats for playing aggressive, opportunistic defense, but man it feels like the Badgers were swimming upstream that first half.
Hosed by these horible refs
...and 4 turnovers

Their RBs aren't good enough either. The Badgers are at their best when they have a RB that can turn well blocked 5 yard runs into long gains. Watson has no feel for that type of thing at all. Berger is OK, but he seems like he gets 8-10 yards on those plays - not 50 like Taylor, Melvin Gordon, M. Ball, etc.
Good start for the Badger defense
3 and out for the Cats.
Berger really finding the holes. Need to keep feeding him.
No one getting open now...
You can't throw that pass

He could have run for the first down.
