We'll be fine. KC's secondary is not very good. They give up a bunch of scores, and no one gets the ball out faster than Aaron Rodgers, which should neutralize their pass rush by quite a bit. Our offense will be pretty potent for them to try to handle, and I don't see KC being able to do it. Rodgers will probably keep the ball out of Peters' area, but has plenty of options after that.

On defense, we just have to be disciplined against Charles, and play some tight coverage 10-20 yds downfield. Smith can't throw the deep ball. Maybe we get our pick fest Monday Night. Alex Smith has already thrown 2 INTs, and has been sacked 6 times.

Our pass rush is rated nearly the same. KC is rated far superior in run D, but then again, look at who they faced. HOU and DEN. Our RBs are far better than anything those two teams have.

KC lost, at home, to Peyton Manning and his noodle arm...

I think we are everyone's SB and hence, every game is a trap game.  So we should be well practiced by the time the real SB comes.

In 2011 KC had Packer killer Kyle Orten at QB.  I think Orten is undefeated vs GB with both the Bears and Chiefs.  Also Jordy Nelson was called for offensive pass interference or GB might have scored early in the game.  It was also the game that a relatively healthy and effective Derek Sherrod broke his leg in 2 places.  Finally the Packer defense gave up 438 yards allowing the KC offense to stay on the field like forever.  KC had a TOP 36.11 minutes vs the Packers 23.49 minutes.  KCs 5 long drives ate up time our offense needed.  So we need to do much better at some 3 & outs to win.  I was at that 2011 game.  BTW, the chief fans were good to us.

Jordy drops a sure TD against Buffalo in the third quarter that indirectly costs GB HFA last year.

GB kicks Seattles ass in Seattle anyways until they didn't.

Jordy blows his knee out in Pitt in the preseason 2015.

Ted Thompson is a very private guy. He keeps to himself. We have no idea who is friends are. Who he trusts. He's the ultimate introvert.

But somehow the guy understands teammates and friends that sweat and bleed together for 30 weeks that need each other. Trust each other. I swear there are 45 guys that are dying that Jordy can't reverse that drop against Buffalo. It's killing Jordy and it's killing them. **** free agency. Band of brothers. You have no idea what winning and losing feels like unless you deal with it with guys that lived it with you.

Ted gets that. And I have no idea how. It goes against what he gives us.

Thanks Ted.

Football Outsiders has some pretty solid stats that they offer, and I found something interesting. They have a table that shows direction of runs (%) for each team. Left End. Left Tackle. Mid/Guard. Right Tackle. Right end.

72% of KC's runs are Mid/Guard. The other significant percentage is Left End with 17% (17, 2, 72, 4, 4). Our own is slightly more balanced, but center and left heavy, with just 22% going to the right side (20, 23, 34, 11, 11)

If we ever needed a big game from our DL along with Peppers, Matthews, Palmer and Nick Perry, Monday Night will be it. I know Dom does a lot of switching, so this could be interesting to see how he matches our players up v. Jamaal Charles. Raji, Daniels and Matthews could have a very big day in the middle.

I think our ILBs and Safeties will be the ones needing to have a big game. Charles isn't a strong runner, but he is fast and gets past that first level of defenders quickly. That's when the ILBs and Safeties will need to close fast and limit how far he runs. Charles will get yards against this D, the key is to allow him to not break those long gainers.

With the much publicized lack of production at WR, it seems Reid has a renewed focus to throw down field more.  Denver has a very good defense, so didn't see it much, but the addition of Maclin and having a top shelf TE in Kelce has them in good position to hit bigger plays.

As is typical gotta stop the run first, but I want to see some pass rush. As good as the defense has played,we haven't gotten to the QB much in two games.  Peppers was invisible against Seattle, Matthews had zero snaps at OLB for the first time in his career. While I think the focus was to stop Lynch first and contain Wilson second, would be nice to see some rush from guys like Perry, Neal, Mulumba, etc. ... How about some more Jayrone ?? With solid weapons at his disposal, can't give Smith too much time.

Wonder if they will run any RO plays against the Packer defense, might be a weakness they try to exploit with a QB you don't necessarily expect it from...much like when Tannehill hit some nice gains.

In terms of Opponent Passer Rating and Completion %, the Packers D played pretty well so far. Lots of ways to skin the cat and in the case of Russell Wilson, they had a ton of pressure but he squirted free way too often. GB played to their strengths on the coverage side and were reluctant to send more blitzes against Wilson- they prefer to keep him in the pocket and force him to be a passer. Rush-to-contain

Smith however is a statue, I'm guessing they'll get after him a bit more than they did the escape artist Wilson. Denver OLBs had some success against the Chef's OTs, hopefully GB can do the same

Good call. Thomas is fast and can run down on STs - they didn't grab him to play much from scrimmage.

I think they would have kept Boyd over D.Goodson on account of The Planet Theory

We'll see after this week who they keep, but after losing Barrington they needed another ILB for the rest of the season.

Agree whole heartedly with everything you said except this. Smith is really athletic and quick. He loves to run. We need to use the same game plan this week, IMO.

Disagree.

Peppers showed up a LOT in the game, just not on the stat sheet. Watch the game again & focus on Peppers. He harassed Wilson all the time. So did Pennell & Datone & Nick Perry & Mike Neal.

That's the problem on defense. You can play great & harass the QB all day long. If it doesn't show up on the stat sheet, the media doesn't want to talk to you.
