I would think the Broncos would want to overpay to keep McCoy if they really do plan on rolling with Tebow.

But, but I thought McCoy was an unproven coach and the reason why Tebow hadn't progressed as a passer? Confused

I do find it interesting that McKenzie seems to be interviewing as many candidates as he can yet NONE of them are guys he's worked with recently on the Packers' staff.

Mike Sherman called in now for second interview.... Please Lord, no....

Go offer it to Tedford!
If they have a half-decent GM, Sherman is still a big improvement over Raheem Morris.
This might not be the best place to put this, but I didn't want to start a new thread (link):

Joe Philbin knows Packers staff is β€œoff limits”

Joe Philbin is a proud member of the Green Bay Packers family, and Mike McCarthy’s coaching tree, and if the Miami Dolphins’ new head coach would like to stay in the family, and on the tree, don’t expect him to take from that organization.

According to two members of the Packers organization, its common knowledge that Packers coaches and executives who move on to bigger and better opportunities are instructed to leave the Packers staff alone.

So don’t expect a similar staff raid like when Tony Sparano was hired by the Dolphins, and lured numbers members of Bill Parcells former Dallas staff to Miami.

That type of staff raiding his frowned upon in Green Bay, which perceives itself as a family more than a franchise.

β€œOff limits,” one of the sources claimed. β€œJoe’s going to be building the core of his staff from outside.”
Cal I'll tell you that you could do much worse than Mike Sherman. He is no GM. Lousy college recruiter. But he is an above average coach and a good family man. He develops really solid O-Lines where ever he goes. That said where are all the bright assistants?

@AdamSchefter: Now official: Oakland Raiders are hiring Broncos defensive coordinator Dennis Allen as head coach. Deal done.

EDIT: I've never heard of this guy. Found a little blurb over at raidersblog.com:

Dennis Allen began his NFL coaching career with Atlanta in 2002 as a defensive quality control assistant. Hired by the Saints in 2006 as an assistant defensive line coach and later coached the secondary for the Saints in their 3-4 defense. Last year he was hired as the defensive coordinator of the Broncos and ended the 3-4 experiment and switched back to a 4-3.

All I remember is everyone on this Board complaining about him and suggesting he must go. Did he develop the O Line or inherit them? I remember him not being able to corral Favre. What has Sherman accomplished?

Bucs need someone to work Freeman into a smart QB. Tedford, Kelly, Spurrier,.... We need a fresh, vibrant approach to offense. Just as important for us is who becomes DC. That side of the ball is equally if not more pathetic.

By the way, Boris,...

Remember me saying how bad the Bucs were prior to the game with your team? You said I am
Not buying it and that I was trying to fool you all? Well, guess what? We were as bad as I said.
I think the complaints were about 4th and 26....GM Sherman was the other. When he went for it on 4th down this board bitched. When he punted or kicked a field goal the same guys bitched. He could do no right according to some. As to BF McCarthy never controlled him until they cut him!
