Martz may be retired from coaching but I'll bet he ends up consulting or scouting for some team or maybe even as a college passing game developer. Some gig where he can work the hours and the days he wants.
Adam Schefter @AdamSchefter Close Dolphins scheduled to bring Broncos OC Mike McCoy to New York to meet with owner Stephen Ross on Thursday; McCoy's 2nd Dolphins interview.
I would think the Broncos would want to overpay to keep McCoy if they really do plan on rolling with Tebow.

Maybe McCoy wants to work with a real offense.
Miami Herald reporting Packers OC Joe Philbin is one of three finalists for Dolphins job. Will interview again with owner Stephen Ross Wed.

But, but I thought McCoy was an unproven coach and the reason why Tebow hadn't progressed as a passer?
I do find it interesting that McKenzie seems to be interviewing as many candidates as he can yet NONE of them are guys he's worked with recently on the Packers' staff.
Gathering intel.
When it comes to being a gatherer, there can be only one.
As big of an Ohio State homer as I am, I see nothing about Tressel's style that will work in the pros.
According to PFT it is Chip Kelly to the Bucs. Comments on there were implying that he's running to the NFL Pete Carroll style.
Hopefully, a legitimate source confirms this. Interesting move by ol' Chip if this story is true. The guy is royalty at Oregon. Why would he leave that to coach at a **** hole like Tampa?
Pete Carroll style "running to avoid sanctions". Tampa Bay Times and Yahoo have articles as well so it seems likely this is a done deal.

Wow, finally!!! Chip Kelly knows offense in college. I wonder if his spread hurryup offense can work in the NFL. So, thats a good hire for offense but his DC will be key. After all, the Bucs were putrid more on defense than offense.

So does Pete Carroll. How has that been working out?
Oh well, I can't be too disappointed if the Bucs continue to suck.
Just reported that the talks with Chip Kelly have broken down and he's removed himself from consideration.
I just don't get McKenzie wanting to interview Tice.
Maybe to stick it to the Bears????
I think he's just following the One Minority & One Moron Rule. Gotta love PC!

Maybe he is looking for some Super Bowl tickets ?
Tice now out of the running for the Raiders job, per sundry twitter reports.
Chip Kelly does a flip-flop and changes his mind in the morning! Unbelievable! Since when is a college job preferable to a NfL job?..
Are we that bad that one wants us?
Mike Sherman called in now for second interview.... Please Lord, no....
Go offer it to Tedford!

Get the sense the dreamsicle Uni's are on the way back?
Judging by the gayness in the Marlins and Heat new Uni's ... its a pretty good guess.

If they have a half-decent GM, Sherman is still a big improvement over Raheem Morris.quote:Originally posted by CALBuccaneer:

Now Tice will not get an interview with Oakland. They are moving to phase 2 of their process.

This might not be the best place to put this, but I didn't want to start a new thread (link):
quote:Joe Philbin knows Packers staff is βoff limitsβ
Joe Philbin is a proud member of the Green Bay Packers family, and Mike McCarthyβs coaching tree, and if the Miami Dolphinsβ new head coach would like to stay in the family, and on the tree, donβt expect him to take from that organization.
According to two members of the Packers organization, its common knowledge that Packers coaches and executives who move on to bigger and better opportunities are instructed to leave the Packers staff alone.
So donβt expect a similar staff raid like when Tony Sparano was hired by the Dolphins, and lured numbers members of Bill Parcells former Dallas staff to Miami.
That type of staff raiding his frowned upon in Green Bay, which perceives itself as a family more than a franchise.
βOff limits,β one of the sources claimed. βJoeβs going to be building the core of his staff from outside.β
So, is the Packers family off limits for Reggie McKenzie also?
Sure reads that way... not sure how enforceable this is though.
They say everybody wants to go home. So if you ever intend to return to Green Bay in some capacity at some point in time, you'd better not be raiding the staff now.
Cal I'll tell you that you could do much worse than Mike Sherman. He is no GM. Lousy college recruiter. But he is an above average coach and a good family man. He develops really solid O-Lines where ever he goes. That said where are all the bright assistants?

$$$$$$$ and in most cases, you make more than the babies you are trying to coach.
quote:@AdamSchefter: Now official: Oakland Raiders are hiring Broncos defensive coordinator Dennis Allen as head coach. Deal done.
EDIT: I've never heard of this guy. Found a little blurb over at raidersblog.com:
Dennis Allen began his NFL coaching career with Atlanta in 2002 as a defensive quality control assistant. Hired by the Saints in 2006 as an assistant defensive line coach and later coached the secondary for the Saints in their 3-4 defense. Last year he was hired as the defensive coordinator of the Broncos and ended the 3-4 experiment and switched back to a 4-3.

All I remember is everyone on this Board complaining about him and suggesting he must go. Did he develop the O Line or inherit them? I remember him not being able to corral Favre. What has Sherman accomplished?
Bucs need someone to work Freeman into a smart QB. Tedford, Kelly, Spurrier,.... We need a fresh, vibrant approach to offense. Just as important for us is who becomes DC. That side of the ball is equally if not more pathetic.
By the way, Boris,...
Remember me saying how bad the Bucs were prior to the game with your team? You said I am
Not buying it and that I was trying to fool you all? Well, guess what? We were as bad as I said.
I would love to see Spurrier coaching in the NFL again.
Chuck Pagano as Colts HC.
I think the complaints were about 4th and 26....GM Sherman was the other. When he went for it on 4th down this board bitched. When he punted or kicked a field goal the same guys bitched. He could do no right according to some. As to BF McCarthy never controlled him until they cut him!
