@rimshot.
I get the hunch #12 is watching this week. Fixed.
This is sounding promising!!!
I would wait until kickoff to tell them..
As far as I know, they are not required to share the results of any MRI. They just need to list his "status."
Do the scan, don't tell anyone, and if he passes he plays.
Sounds like Rodgers is lobbying to play. If he doesn't, I think he's going to be one PO'd dude.

I was simply pointing out the obvious. I'm a teacher and if you saw the teens I work with...
I think they can get a lot of mileage out of this scenario with the Cowboys if Rodgers is cleared to play. I would consider that they not start Rodgers and play them. They should milk this for all it is worth. I would even go so far as to throw Flynn out there and then if it looks like Flynn cannot do it and Rodgers is needed after a series or two then trot him out there. If the Packers can cut through the Cowboys D and you can save Rodgers another week and play with their minds it might be worth it.
I am not sure if MM would consider this kind of gamesmanship or if AR would be happy to go along with it.
They walk a fine line here. If MM has any doubts about ARs health I would think that he would have a hard time putting Rodgers out there even if he was "medically cleared". Last month Cutler was medically cleared to play for the Bears against the Loins and he went down hill in a hurry after one series.
I'm glad that I do not have to make this call.

I thought I read somewhere he was already PO'd.

The future of this country is circling the drain.
MM isn't going to dick around with "starting Flynn then putting AR in for a couple series then putting Flynn in agin". Whoever is starting will stay put. And really, what is the big advantage in DAL not knowing who is starting? There isn't anything Flynn does better than AR so if they prep for the OFFENSE, it isn't really going to matter who is QB. The only difference will be how successful they are in executing. What does Kiffin tell the defenders "if AR plays, you'll have to cover the WR's better!!".

It's a matter of blitz packages. With Rodgers in the Cowboys will be a lot less likely to blitz. With Flyn in the crowd the receivers and bring the house. It's advantageous for them not to be able to practice their preferred style.
Article on SI website this AM about Jerry Jones saying the Cowboys need to blitz more. My first thought was that I hope they do....if AR plays, he has proven to have one of the highest QB rating vs. blitz over his career.
My thought process (???) goes along the lines of if Flynn can show that he can lead them in a series or two then leave him in there. If Rodgers is clearly well there is no question what to do. Maybe there is not one (a question) in reality but from the outside there appears to be.
They are obviously both practicing. It would play with the Cowboys but only as a biproduct of attempting to reduce some of the risk.
I get that, titm. But is that alone really a big deal? I'm sure DAL has practiced all the blitzing they do all season. So the situation is: they prepare to blitz a lot more because odds are Flynn plays. IF AR plays, they blitz less so I don't see how a D would be disadvantaged because they didn't prepare "to blitz less".
If AR12 plays the cryboys cant play 8 in the box to stop Lacy, if they did AR would tear them all a new arsehole, and shove that star far up where the sun dont shine.
But, with Flynn playing they are going to go 8 in the box like everyone else has and try shutting Lacy down.
So, with it being unknown which QB plays the cryboys have to gameplan for both scenarios, with reps devoted to each situation.
The cryboys are hoping like heck that Flynn plays. By keeping the suspence right up until the last minute they wont know, but hope AR12 sits out another week. If on Sunday AR can and does play, imagine the collective psyche of the boys dropping to Oh Crap, now were going to get butt whipped defeatest mode.
Is Lacy playing? Read a report he was in a walking boot in the locker-room yesterday.
JSO blog says Lacy should play on Sunday.....FWIW.
Are we right to assume that if Rodgers plays he will be at the top of his game? I'd say that if he really has had as few high speed reps that he most likely will not.
Then again the Boys D is not much.
And the Boyz are a day short this week!!

My thoughts exactly. We know AR is awesome, but he hasn't played in 6 weeks. Unrealistic to think he will play and throw for 400 yards, and 6 TD's.
Also, don't forget the fact that it's human nature to be a bit worried about the injury. Will he favor it, will he bail out early, so it doesn't get hit, etc? No one knows these answers until he takes a few hits on it.
What's more unrealistic?
That Rodgers plays vs DAL?
-OR-
That Rodgers plays vs DAL and has a big game?
I'd think if he plays he will be very effective versus that pathetic D.
Same. Add to that Dallas' DL is in terrible shape, worse injuries then what the Bores have had on their DL and IIRC one of their starting LB's is likely out with a hamstring injury.
Today's practice is or isn't open to the media? I am thinking not?
If it is not, media will not know whether AR took reps with the #1's today.

At Packers practice, Aaron Rodgers practicing but did not do any full, 11-on-11 during segment open to media. That went to Flynn.
Good news for #Packers: Lacy, Lattimore, Neal have returned to practice.
Rodgers does more standing than participating early in practice. Not a good sign for his playing prospects Sunday. #Packers
It's possible Rodgers could get work with No. 1 offense during team drills when media not present, but it doesn't look good right now.
#WinwithFlynn RT @RobDemovsky: Rodgers is practicing but when they went to 2-min, first team period, he took his helmet off & Flynn went in.

So the DAL D doesn't practice 8 in the box vs. 7 in the box on a regular basis? That's just not realistic. There are times in every game where you switch between one and the other. The only difference is they'd be playing MORE of one way vs the other depending on who is at Q. I just don't see the big difference in prep time allocation. Only real adjustments will be made during the game, and that is true no matter who plays. If we had a running or RO Q starting instead of AR, then I would see a difference.
