Fans that wanted to see Mo Drayton fired midseason because they were frustrated and would have found it emotionally satisfying just need to say so. That's common and was probably the reason Mark Murphy fired MM like he did.
I think Mo's fate should be decided on the field. Make him kick a punt behind his special teams line. If he doesn't survive he gets fired.
You can fire me over my dead body?

Not a bad idea, but I'd 'reverse' it.
Have Mo rush the punter... if he gets through and is successful, he can keep his job. Apparently, there's some info around the league on how this can be done, so he's got an advantage from the start.

Yeah, no one believes this.

Jesus Fuck put a warning label on that
JFC. Looked like the bullied kid in the HS hallway. Shocking nobody exploited that until the playoffs.
Burks' "blocking" on that play looked EXACTLY how Tonyan was doing on the outside earlier in the year. Makes me think that the problem(s) was/were never fixed, they just moved it inside.
Has Wirtel replaced Lowry, Lancaster, or King as the new whipping boy?
Didnβt anyone else notice that on nearly every punt the entire year it looked like Bojo was kicking out of a mosh pit. There was always a tight pocket to punt from. There were tons of times it looked like the only reason he got a punt off was pure luck. Of course, under the more intense pressure of a playoff game he was going to have one blocked.

Burks' job wasn't to block, it was to get downfield and either get to the returner or force him to coverage. I get the thought: you can't line up over the long snapper so that gives you "numbers" on the inside, especially with a protector usually in the backfield, but with an undersized snapper who also can't get downfield, they're at a pronounced disadvantage. Guys Wirtel's size as snappers have often been the downfield guys on other teams, but apparently that's not in his wheelhouse either.
Burks lack of awareness is stunning.
What the hell good is a tackler on a return if the punt is blocked? Job #1, make sure nobody, I mean nobody blocks the punt. If you can't see a guy 2 feet from you is rushing up the middle to block it you at least need to try and slow him down, not just look away and run upfield. JFC!!
Because without the gunners/breakers the returner has a clean run back to your line and probably for a TD and you're screwed there. The punt team generally has numbers (unless a full-out block is on) because there's a returner and four guys (two each) on the outside gunners.
If Bojo took an extra step then Burks may have assumed the punt would be gone by time 94 got there. There is a rhythm and timing to these things. I haven't rewatched the replay to gage if this is correct but it could be a reason.
