Manning's constant bitching to the competition committee, when he was with Indy and they had a member on the committee, helped lead to rules changes that biased the game even more in favor of the offense and in favor of passing, and that's been to the detriment of the game.
Also, in the 2010 preseason, when the NFL was trying to move the umpire (I think) to make things more safe for him, Manning whined profusely after the preseason game against the Packers that this wasn't allowing him to play his pwecious widdle offense at the speed he wanted. Screw the safety of the officials.
And so many people make excuses for his consistent failures in the big games.
