Up until the moment Rodgers got hurt there would have been fans bitching that the Packers were paying an experienced clipboard holder a couple of million dollars when that money could have been used on an impact pass rusher.

Fact: Unless you have a dominant defense, you must have a QB playing at an elite level.

a 3-7 finish under a journeyman QB differs from 1-9 under Hundley only by the draft choice the Packers get. And the number of meltdown tirades on the internet

IT's an insurance policy..  An experienced backup QB who gives a credible chance at winning a game or two is possibly the difference between playoffs and no playoffs.

The policy doesn't make sense for everyone.   I have a desk job so I don't have Aflac.   My neighbor is a construction worker, if he gets hurt, no money comes in.  So it makes sense for him to have Aflac.

Also, there is a reason why they command millions more than a backup pass rusher.   That position has more to do with W/L outcome than any other position in sports save for maybe starting pitcher.

Murphy is concerned with blowing Rog and maximizing profits.  He's tits on a bull.

“I didn’t put my nuts in a vice so you could build ice rinks and hotels in Titletown. It’s football first in Green Bay. There was a time we thought history would carry us forever. It didn’t. It won’t. You have to win. Never lose sight of that”

Things I think Harlan would tell Murphy.

Screw Murph, he's been getting a free ride.
We need someone with Packer roots.

If Jerry Kramer would be interested in doing something like that, he's good window dressing to present to the public.
Ditto for Willie Davis, as far as that goes.
Tauscher would be a good choice for somebody younger.
Same for Hendo.

All these men are smart enough for the job, and would represent the Packers well.
JMHO. Others may vary.

See....here's the thing.

WTF was MM doing for THREE F**KInG YEARS "developing" a backup QB???

THIS is what has me incensed.

I'm not expecting MVP quality at QB, but I AM expecting competency. We aren't even CLOSE to that. Why in the F**K are the Packers paying millions of dollars to MM? They could pay me the same amount & have the same result.

WHAT....THE.....F**K!!!!!

First, this team has been very, very lucky with two "once in a lifetime" quarterbacks, back to back. We have two SB wins to show at this point. That's unacceptable. Rodgers should be pissed about what he's been given to work with and the crappy defenses he needs to put up with year after year. This is on MM. That said, MM can't just be canned because it's time. The defense and ST to some extent needs to be fixed with new staff. Also, strength and conditioning. Way too many injuries every year.

Saw an interesting stat on Jordy Nelson for those thinking maybe it’s time to move on from Jordy or that maybe GB should look to put him out to pasture at the slot to finish his career.

Jordy hasn’t caught a TD pass since Hundley stepped in for Rodgers in Minny. He’s only caught a TOTAL of 10 passes in those 4 1/2 games.

Jordy still tied for 4th in NFL in TD receptions with Antonio Brown and AJ Green.

Everything is broken right now.

In the game Sunday night against Pittsburgh, I saw several times when Jordy was lined up wide left, there was about a 10 yard cushion between him and the defender.  Rodgers and he used to tear that crap up.  Frustrating.
