Well stated Sul.

You probably have to go back to the Magik years to make this a true rivalry where everyone on both teams hated each other.

I think FA and then fantasy football doused a lot of the "hatred" between the two teams' players and fans.  Of course on top of it being one sided for 30 years.

But I think there was some renewed juice when Urlacher was still in CHI and when the Cutler teams were actually competitive, peaking in the NFCCG.

Bear Down? What kind of chant or motto is that? Everytime i hear it I am thinking the parametics are headed to the field with a stretcher to pull another Bear that is down on the field. Bear Down? LOL-Not only their team and organization sucks but their rallying cry is the lamest of the lame.

Meanwhile Packers players are like, "What rivalry"? How many of our players have lost to the Bears?

Worst motto or chant I know is....

INNN....COMMM.....PLEEEETE!!

THAT is the lamest of the lame from Denver.

It's such a low bar that getting underneath it would be like digging to China

First “official” injury reports out tomorrow. I’m sure we’ll see Jaire, De’vondre, Gary Rashan, Doubs, probably Bakhtiari. Anyone else? Any surprises?

Bears a bit banged up on O-line and WR.

Watson needs to stay healthy.

@jeffash26:  Good news for far-flung #Packers fans. Fox is showing Sunday's game vs. the Bears to the RED areas on this @506sports map. 3:25 p.m. CT kickoff from Soldier Field in Chicago with Kevin Burkhardt and Greg Olsen on the call.

If we don't have Doubs and Watson I'm going to just laugh. I was just saying how I hate weeks off because we seem to always get guys hurt on the week off. Don't let it happen again this year...

@TomSilverstein:  #Packers coach Matt LaFleur said he would give Christian Watson, Romeo Doubs and David Bakhtiari all the way up to game time to see if they can play. He would not say what the chances are for any of them nor would he say what Watson's injury is. (Will be on inj report in 51 min)

Totally agree.  Denver fans are the worst.  Even worse than Bears fans.  I cringe every time the opposing team has an incompletion.  Back when the Broncos were good, they had a section of the stadium called the south stands.  If you were a fan of the opposing team, you got beer thrown on you, food thrown on you, sucker punched - it was horrible.  When they revamped the stadium, they broke up the south stands because of its reputation, but that irritating "incomplete" chant is still there.  I'll be at Mile High for the Packers game, looking forward to it and shouting my own "incomplete" every time the Broncos have one.

So, if Watson, Doubs, and Wicks are all out Sunday, it leaves Reed, Toure, and Heath as the only WRs on the roster. You would have to assume Melton and/or DeBose would get called up from the practice squad.

The Packers would be looking at going into the game with their entire WR core having a total of 5 career NFL catches for 82 yards and a TD (Toure).

Their TEs have a cumulative total of 39 catches for 371 yards and 2 TDs (DeGuara).

Even with Watson and Doubs the total catches were 127 amongst all 13 WRs and TEs on the roster and the practice squad.

I wonder if this is an NFL record for lowest previous number of NFL catches on a roster? It would have to be very likely if Watson and Doubs don't play - then we are looking at 44 total catches amongst all the active players.

Injuries, more than anything else, are the thing that could derail this team.
We had a decent TC and PS; I think Davis' injury was the only serious one, but he wasn't a critical piece o' the puzzle necessarily.

And I have to ask WTH is going on with our WRs having hammy issues?
One may be just a thing, two is unusual, but three???
And just like that, it went from having too many receivers to keep them all to being one of the thinnest position group.

Vet WRs are out there. But you just get the vibe the Packers are riding this out with these young pups no matter what. The FO will never say it’s a rebuild year but that’s pretty much what this is.

They are not going to take reps away from young WRS, no matter who those are.

I would guess Aaron Jones and Dillon will be packaged in for receiving plays and the Packers will go with a heavy dose of Musgrave and Kraft in TE sets IF Watson and Dubbs can’t go.

Hamstrings suck but the somewhat saving grace is it’s very early September and these WRs aren’t trying to play with bad hamstrings in 20 degree weather.

But we all know how careful the Packer medicos are with injuries.  I was laying in bed this morning and had a hammy tighten up.  I'm on the injured list now.  Maybe they are just faking the Bears out.

Regardless of what WRs are available in Week 1, I think the Packers are gonna run the ball.  They will run on first down.  Run on second down. Run on third down (and probably a couple of times on fourth down). They are going to put the ball in the hands of two really experienced RBs behind a very solid (if not spectacular) O-line. They’re gonna run the ball until the Bears show they can stop the run. And then the Packers will still run the ball.

Watson is reported to have a hamstring injury. Not sure of the severity, yet. Heath time? I also think we run the ball a lot more than we usually did. Jones and Dillon can catch the ball, too.

Bakh will play.

AJ Dillon in Chicago last year ran over the Bears defense. I am guessing as others have said, the Packers will look to pound the football and do a lot of easy pitch and catch pass plays and use the middle of the field. Yes, it will look dink and dunk. But so what. If the Packers are able to use Jones and Dillon to march down the field, that means drives that suck up a ton of time off the clock.

That wears down defenses and this may be a 17-10 type of grinding out win. I'll happily take that and get out of there with a W.

Thursday practice just starting. From local beat reporters:

Returned to practice:
Romeo Doubs

Not practicing:

Christian Watson
David Bakhtiari
Eric Stokes (PUP)
Henry Pearson (P/S)
Luke Tenuta (IR)

There was no sign of Watson at practice. Bakhtiari was on the bike.

Packers were not in pads.
