I had a medical appointment this morning.  My provider informed me that she was a Bears fan.  Should I get a referral to someone else?  I’m kinda questioning her judgment now.

I have worse newsâ€Ķthis is my Kiel-ette and her husband last Monday. Will was changed Tuesday.

So, if Watson, Doubs, and Wicks are all out Sunday, it leaves Reed, Toure, and Heath as the only WRs on the roster. You would have to assume Melton and/or DeBose would get called up from the practice squad.

The Packers would be looking at going into the game with their entire WR core having a total of 5 career NFL catches for 82 yards and a TD (Toure).

Their TEs have a cumulative total of 39 catches for 371 yards and 2 TDs (DeGuara).

Even with Watson and Doubs the total catches were 127 amongst all 13 WRs and TEs on the roster and the practice squad.

I wonder if this is an NFL record for lowest previous number of NFL catches on a roster? It would have to be very likely if Watson and Doubs don't play - then we are looking at 44 total catches amongst all the active players

It would be like half the offense was the college all star team.

Not exactly a ringing endorsement, ooof. Keep in mind Steno was the OL coach so if anyone would know...

MLF presser:

@BillHuberNFL:  Watson is out. Doubs is questionable.
Everyone else (Bakhtiari included) is good to go, LaFleur says.

@ByRyanWood: Matt LaFleur says he expects Christian Watson's hamstring injury to be "a week to week" thing, but the #Packers will not have their top receiver against Bears for Week 1.

Matt LaFleur on preparing for Bears without Christian Watson: "We had a whole week to prepare for this. So I wouldn't say that alters the plan too drastically. Anytime you're missing one of your better players, that throws a curveball a little bit. But it happens all the time."

Especially when the injuries come out of nowhere. I think the Packers are developing enough depth that if Watson can't stay on the field there are guy that can take advantage and win a more prominent role no matter how healthy Watson is. Watson really hasn't established himself in the NFL, he's just what we think is the best we have.

Really concerned about Watson's injury tendencies...

Watson was fine the entire OTAs, training camp and preseason. The Packers are overly cautious and everyone knows that. Davante Adams (ankle) , Jordy Nelson (knee) and James Jones all dealt with injuries early in their careers and some fans freaked out over it. Then they ended up being fine.

The NFL don’t and won’t stop for anyone. If it’s an issue long term, the Packers will move on. But it’s simply waayyy too early to be concerned with #9. Especially in a year where the expectations of this team are hardly lofty
