It's bears week, which means it's time for my twice yearly rant about the worst franchise in all of sports.

But, let's get this out of the way. Any of you out there that are gonna still tell me you hate the Vikings more... First, you're wrong. Second, why would you concern yourself with such a meaningless franchise. They are but gnats. They are your younger brother desperately trying to hang out with you and your friends. You don't HATE your little brother crying because he can't be you. You ignore him. The Vikings are nothing. They are irrelevant. They aren't worth the time or the effort to worry about.

But, the bears?  Everything else is a simply a week long discussion. The hate for the bears is deep and it's lifelong.

Records don't matter. The last 10 years doesn't matter. Dominating them for nearly 30 years doesn't matter. Win 20 in a row. Lose 20 in a row. They deserve every single ounce of hate you can muster. They go through 67 QBs in 12 years? Fuckem. They lose players to injuries? Fuckem. They were nice to the Packers for 20 minutes 93 years ago? Fuckem. They are an original NFL team like Green Bay? Fuckem.

Fuckem yesterday. Fuckem today. Fuckem forever.

Just because Green Bay has absolutely dominated the series the last ~30 years doesn't mean we should give them a pass. Or feel sorry for them. I've said it over and over - the literal second they experience any iota of success, they, and their fans will revert to the goddamned asshats they always have been.  Do I need to highlight anything more than last year?

61-7. Doug Plank. Perry over Cumby. Ditka. Kevin goddamned Butler. Their goddamned horrific fields. Dan Hampton. Their fans. Mike Singletary and his stupid goddamned eyes. Their shitass stadium. Buddy Ryan. Hub Arkush. Doug Buffone. Butkus. The Super Bowl Shuffle. Every f**king guy on the SCORE. THEIR F**KING FANS.

KEVIN, AND I CAN'T STRESS THIS ENOUGH, FUKKING BUTLER.

No pity.  No mercy.  Fuckem.

With that, let's review the top best wins over the bears, this list is too hard to limit to 5.

1. NFCC game 1/23/11 21-14 win.  Literally the biggest win in the series as they cannot play for the Super Bowl. I was in Anaheim, CA for my companies Sales and Marketing Conference watching his in the bar of the Marriott Anaheim. I've never been so amped/nervous/demented about a game in my life.  I'm fairly confident my father would have liteally died that day if they lost.  I sometimes think beating the Bears in the NFCC was more satisfying than the Super Bowl win, as no matter what - we will always be able to say we beat them at their place and prevented them from going to the Super Bowl.  That said, I know the win wouldn't mean as much without the SB title.

2. We Have A Reversal 11/5/89 14-13 win. I'm a sophomore college at Illinois, watching the game from my room on the 3rd floor of Hopkins Hall alone as all the Bears fans were in the TV room. The emotions of that play go from elation on my end and screaming from the TV room to them all trash talking me when the penalty is announced and then back to elation when the call gets reversed. The 80's were a nightmare for the Packers. 8 straight losses and 10 of 11 and the bears winning a Super Bowl. Just a great victory that at the time felt like Green Bay had found its QB and was finally in my lifetime not lost in the wilderness.

3. Taken by Chester Marcol! 9/7/80 12-6 win.  The glasses.  The single bar facemask.  A guy named Chester. High on Cocaine. Sudden Death.  Craziest ending ever.  I remember my Dad yelping and jumping off the couch...

4. The Monsoon game 10/31/94 33-6 win.  I'm at my apartment in Lombard, IL watching with some friends. Torrential rain.  Throw back uniforms.  Favre "running" for that 36 yard TD.  Sayers and Butkus getting their jerseys retired at halftime and then pour it on more in 2nd half.  I will always believe that this game was like 30-0 at half because that's how dominant it felt, yet it was only 14-0. This game and the 49ers playoff win in 95 were the real intro to the nation that the Pack was back.

5. Epic Beatdown 11/9/14  55-14 win. I watched this on my phone from a bar in Portland. Had customer meetings during the day. Got pulled into taking them out and about. We went bar hopping and I held the phone in my lap glancing as much as I could without being a jerk. I said if earlier in the thread. I lived through 61-7.  I heard Dan friggin Jiggets and Mike North talk about it on Chicago radio every 12 minutes.  42-0 at half. To my dying breath I will be pissed because I know with certainty, Green Bay could have dropped 60-70 on them. AR could be the record holder with 8 TD passes. I will always be a little pissed they didn't keep pushing as hard as they could.

6.  COBB!!!!! 12/29/13 33-28 win.  Watched at home. Scared the living hell out of my family when Cobb scored. Maybe the 3rd most important game in terms of playoff impact.  Rodgers first game after coming back from collarbone.  Winner goes to playoffs.  Great game back and forth.  Boykin with the crazy fumble recovery TD and of course the Cobb TD pass after Rodgers just missed getting killed by Peppers.   Because I'm horrible, I still think less about the Cobb score and think more about how Jordy got freaking murdered on that play and it wasn't called.  Thank god we don't have to relive that missed call.

7. ON ONE LEG 9/9/18 24-23 win Watched at my place on the Oregon Coast. Kids were out at weekend, and I stayed out to get some winterizing done. And watch the Packers in peace.  You go from "welp AR's hurt and season's over" to "OMG KIZER IS THE WORST ****ING QB IN THE HISTORY OF EARTH" to "well, maybe a top 3 pick is what they need" to "Randall Cobb again ripping the hearts out of the bears" to sweating out the last drive after a just insanely horrible roughing call that to this day is inexplicable. Randall Cobb - the destroyer of bears man.

Fuckem yesterday. Fuckem today. Fuckem forever.

That was an awesome post

One of my not so fond memories growing up was I recall the game - think it was 1986 or 1987- where Kevin Butler drilled a 50+ yarder in GB to win it.

We are all huddled around the TV at my grandparents and the moment it happened my dad just says โ€œI donโ€™t believe itโ€ while I run outside in their backyard and scream at top of my lungs โ€œno! no! Fuckin A!!โ€ I think everyone in Fond du Lac County heard me.

I come back inside and everyone is staring at me and my 80 year old grandmothers mouth is wide open in shock and disgust.

Needless to say I had some โ€˜splaining to do and it was not a fun ride home.  So much for those Catholic school values lol.

Yup, that was the 87 game. I was working at McDonalds on HWY 100 and Burleigh, we had the game on the radio in the break room and had it turned up pretty loudly. Packers led heading into the 3rd 21-13. Gave up 10, and Al Del Greco kicked a 47 yard FG to go up 24-23 with a minute to go.  Then that piece of crap Butler kicks a 52 yarder to win it. The whole restaurant groaned as Irwin announced it was good.

I HATE the Vikings more.  Not even close.

I'm with you guys.  I spent a good portion on my youth in Grand Forks, ND.  Viking country... fuck those guys.  I now live in western Wisconsin and there's plenty of Viking fans here too... fuck those guys as well.

I think your level of hatred depends upon your geographic location between the two teams.  The Vikings and their fans can take a sweet suck of my ass.
