There’s been so many great memories in wins over the Bears it’s hard to pick 1 favorite.

The one that I felt more emotions about than any other was beating the Bears at Lambeau in the “Instant replay game” in Fall 1989.  That game broke an 8 game win streak by the Bears that felt like 100 years instead of just 5 years of futility for the Pack.  I watched the game with a bunch of Vikings and Bears fans in my dorm at UW-Green Bay.  Just so much fun to see that losing streak end.

There’s been more important games that the Pack has won over the Bears, but from a pure emotional standpoint maybe because I still was pretty young, that one was my all time favorite win.

It was a pretty special time for me, as well.
I had moved to GA (from OK) Dec of 87 (for work), so had been here long enough to have a little money, a newer car and was discovering things I didn't know existed!
One of these was going to a local bar/grill that showed different games. Now, I may be a little backward, but I swear I had never heard of such a thing back home. And, to be fair, this was before a "sports bar" was a thing, and satellite tech was still in infancy, so it's much different these days. Still, once I knew they did this, that became my Sunday place

Anyway, maybe the second or third time I went there, they were featuring the "Replay Game" on the big screen.
And that damned rollercoaster of emotions of going from the elation of scoring, the outrage at the penalty, the anxiety of waiting for the replay call, then back to the TD elation again... it was crazy!
Probably a day I'll remember forever. At least I hope so.

The best was Ditka absolutely losing his mind after replay over turned the call. Me just flipping off Ditka on the TV. The Bears the following year putting an "*" asterisk in their media guide 😆for the Packer Bear game

Similar to the season final against the Lions last year.

It's basically the same game with a different divisional opponent, and hopefully a different result.  (Not so) fun fact about the game last year: AR's fourth quarter QB rating  was 2.6.

Doubt if Love has the regular season dominance of his predecessor, but  entirely possible he doesn't come up small in big moments like AR often did, especially later in his career.

My favorite, Sept. 29, 2003.   My 23 year old daughter had just moved to Rockford for a job. She had only been there for a week or 10 days at that point. Was invited to a party for MNF.  She proudly wore a Packer T shirt and got a lot of negative comments, most jokingly. But the joke was on them. Ahman Green rushed for 179 yards and the Pack stomped the Bears 38-23.

I cherish all the Packers' wins over the Bears, but one that stands out, a lot for me, is the game where John Kuhn throws the 2nd most important block in Packers' history. Kuhn blocks Julius Peppers, which prevented Peppers from sacking Rodgers, who, hit Randall Cobb downfield, for a TD and the win! GO PACK, GO!!!

I also loved any Packers-Bears game that showed Jay Cutler sitting on the bench, during a game, smoking a cigarette. I wonder what kind of salary cap issues Ted faced when Cutler was playing against us. He was Ted's secret weapon!

Though I may have very vague childhood memories of the Chester Marcol game, this was the first win I remember clearly.  Majkowski and Sharpe had built up a lot of anticipation for the team with their earlier season last second wins.

Long story short, growing up in a household where any kind of emotional outburst raised eyebrows or disdain, when Sharpe caught the winning TD, I jumped out of my dad's recliner causing it to bounce back and tip over backwards on the living room floor.  I was 17 and I was not ashamed.

Was just looking at 506 Sports .com.   All of Wisconsin has Dallas @Washington as the late FOX game.  The Seattle @ Arizona is possibly more important to Packers. Will Wisconsin stations switch to this game as the week goes on?

Nice that we'll get game local in Tampa, but I'm torn on going to my good luck bar. Some of my better memories are watching games at bars although it's not always a preference. 4 1/2 days to decide. This is some major shit I'm dealing with

I’m 72 so I even remember the Lombardi-era wins. Those Ray Nitschke/Dick Butkus matchups of 2 great middle linebackers were pretty great. But the one that I’m thinking of right now is where Antonio Freeman had an amazing TD catch from Favre, and in the process broke his arm. What a game!

Several former Packers on the lame-ass bears squad, including Lucas Patrick, Robert Tonyan and my favorite, Marcedes Lewis.

Damn shame Packers didn't have a spot on the 53 for him, he got stuck in shitcago for the final year of his record- breaking 18 year career as an NFL TE. Lewis was drafted in 2006, I believe he is the last active member of that class

Kicking DE's ass for a decade is a hell of an accomplishment.
Doing it for 18 years is just nuts.

His backstory and upbringing are pretty amazing and he turned into a 5 star human and the best blocking TE the league has ever seen.

Congrats on an amazing career Marcedes, hats off to you. You're gonna lose your last NFL game, but you're going out a winner in every other way.

This is the game and time frame I'm talking about.   I talked to program guy at FOX 25 in LaCrosse  and he doesn't follow the NFL and sounded like he didn't care which game was on. I asked him to see if he could ask to get it changed, didn't sound like he gave a shit one way or the other.

Dallas @ Washington
Kevin Burkhardt, Greg Olsen

LA Rams @ San Francisco
Adam Amin, Mark Schlereth

Seattle @ Arizona
Kevin Kugler, Mark Sanchez

Nothing and I mean nothing will ever beat going into Soldier Field on Jan 23, 2011 and walking away with a trip to the Super Bowl.

We beat the 1, 2 and 3 seeds that year if I recall.  All on the road. Beat the best to be the best.

And if we get in the playoffs.....I want the #2 seed Cokeboys w/MM in Dallas.

I WANT THE COWBOYS IF WE GET IN!

from PFF

Pick No. 13:
Green Bay Packers: EDGE Lukas Van Ness

Overall Rookie Grade: 65.5 (Rank: 5/14)
Principal Opponent: Christian Darrisaw
Week 17 Snaps: 19
Week 17 Grade: 65.5

Van Ness collected his fourth career sack and a hurry among his 15 pass-rush reps against Minnesota. He continues to perform reasonably well in rotational work, posting 65.0-plus grades in four straight games. With Green Bay’s playoff hopes on the line, Van Ness is likely looking forward to facing the Bears, against whom he generated a season-high five pressures in Week 1.

Big implications if the Packers get past the Bears. And also keep in mind Shanahan does not believe in resting players before a playoff game.

@TomSilverstein

Also, Isaiah McDuffie and Elgton Jenkins not practicing. McDuffie was riding the bike on the side, which is a good sign considering the hit to the head he took Sunday. Also, Alexander back at practice after suspension.

For this to happen the Rams will need to beat the 49ers back up guys in Santa Clara to remain as 6th seed. (Assuming the Cowboys win and hold 2nd seed).

Shanarat might not like resting players.....but his players have earned a bye.....they're getting rest whether he likes it or not.

....and there is Z-E-R-O chance he's putting guys like Deebo or CMC in harms way in a meaningless (for the Niners) game

Me too! Get them before they are knocked out by someone else.

I want the Lions. I want to put a beat down on them like they have not seen in a while.  I'd like the Pack to shut Campbell up and expose him for the terrible coach he is.

He gets better every game. He’s going to be so good!

Agree. Will be a bit of symmetry to history as the last Loins division title - the old NFC Central - the Pack went into the Silverdome and knocked them out in the wild card round having lost the final regular season game the week before.

How Loins would it be for that franchise for their last two division titles spanning 30 years apart ends up with the Packers beating them in the Wild Card round!

This needs to be posted on Jaire's locker..... With a note from Joe Berry that says "we're playing man"

Hmmm, I'm suddenly re-thinking this whole Dallass thing.

Can we sign George Teague and Sterling Sharpe?

That's right Justin. Not much else to do...... Post it on the bulletin board. MLF!!

Means nothing. If the packers need this as motivation when playing for a playoff spot, we have big problems
