There's an advantage here: Our new coach is actually unscouted.

Except that time as the OC of the Packers and HC of the Dolphins.

McCarthy has been calling all the plays.  And making the in-game decisions.  And setting the game plans.

It started already last week!  You know, that game you didn't watch.  The offense was getting plays called and getting to the line with 10 seconds on the clock.  That never happened with McCarthy at the helm.

The offense has already started looking different, and better, and getting rhythm, for the first time all season.  I'd venture to say it is because there is a new coach.  And I'd say he's in a position to bring some unscouted looks and game plans for this team, with this quarterback, that are pretty dang far removed from what he did at Miami.

I hope you are right, but let's not forget it was Atlanta in GB in Dec last week.

But it was Arizona in GB in Dec the week before.

I'll be interested to see how often we use the two back set.  It's pretty obvious that Williams is the better blocker and Jones is the better runner, but having them both on the field I would think keeps the bears in a base defense. It gives us more options in the screen game as well.

2WR, 1TE, 2 RB set might allow us the best combination of players for blocking and quick throws.  But what do I know?

More than Moss and Zook.

Despite the gaping holes in this team I still think they can pull off a win.  I'm sure Rodgers is going to be motivated not to get smoked everytime he drops back so I'm sure the gameplan will be interesting.  The other thing is despite the front 7 of Chicago, the Packers ran the ball pretty damn well.  Granted, they'll have to run away from Spriggs this time.  Maybe they'll even use his utter collapse to spring a surprise screen on the right side.

JC Tretter sure would be looking really ****ing good about now.

Do people really think the packers are running a new offense? Philbin is just running McCarthy's offense. He has been with McCarthy forever.

Yes, but snapping the ball sooner.   It was the same shit except the d wasn't able to to time the snap with the play clock hitting 0 simultaneously 85% of the time.

Read option?   Not a bad idea, make him think and react instead of dominate the man in front of him.

It looked like a new offense for the first series last week. But then the old habits and tendencies crept back in.

No, it was because you can't live on the short passing game all game.  You get in WRs faces and flood the short route passing lanes.  You have to be able to do something else.

Why do you think Aaron is going to be motivated for this game???  He’s had damn near the whole season to be motivated and look what’s happened.....I hope they win, but for Aaron to be just motivated for this game is kinda silly to me.

He is a cancer without a doubt.

Let me go all Chickenhead on you here and tell you reread the post.  That and face reality.  The "sandlot" and "Rodgers is a cancer" crowd is pretty frickin' hilarious.

It coudn't be this is a team in flux and Rodgers simply couldn't put the whole team on his back anymore, especially buried under a pile of opposing defensive linemen.

Here's a silver lining.  As soon as the talent levels are replenished, Rodgers doesn't have to worry about the defense anymore.  That is if Murphy doesn't **** up the coaching search.

What?  Other teams figure out what you're doing and then you have to do something else?

I thought the riddle of offense was like 256-bit encryption?
