Dude, COVID. Tell your wife you are afraid to get COVID and stay home.

I swear to god I am not making this up.  One of my guys who works for me has tested positive for COVID this morning.   Because of being in close proximity and contact tracing I am officially quarantined and my issue about the game is no more.  Good thing I stocked up on items for old fashions and beer before I found out.  Go Pack Go!

So glad this is at Lambeau. Rams top rated defense is built on speed and power(damn good scheme too) ....hopefully somewhat negated due to grass and weather. #homefield

Rams front is tough, we've seen similar from Tampa Bay and recent 49er defenses. Say it again, it's all up to the Packer O-line. Give Rodgers time and open some creases and we're golden.

On defense, just don't see how the Rams can score much.

Brandy is the only choice for true WI old fashioned.  Sour to be campy.

But there are many different "WI old fashioned" recipes.  Depends on your tastes.  Do you want it as a straight up cocktail or with a mixer (sour or sweet)?

I've tried a ton of different recipes before I found the one I prefer.  I like this one mostly because I think it's how my parents made them and I remember it from being a kid an sneaking sips on the way to handing them to visiting uncles and aunts.

This is my Brandy Old Fashioned Sour

1.5oz Brandy

1 sugar cube (omit if using sour = Squirt)

1 Orange slice

2 Cherries and their juices (brandied maraschino if you have them)

Dash of bitters

build in a highball glass.  hit sugar cube with (no sugar if using mixer) bitters, muddle with orange & cherries.  add brandy, stir.  ice.  top with sour or sweet if you prefer.

Straight up is without mixer but keep the sugar.

I'll send you the bill on the covid "out".

I am counting on the Packers winning on Saturday. Who do we want them to face next week?. I would not mind playing and beating the Saints.  Saints fans are worse than Bucs fans as far as thinking they are mistreated by the league and constantly complaining about the refs.  They also seem to hate Rodgers more than most teams fans. I dont think Brees will handle the cold well and teh Packers probably match up with them better.  I would not mind the Packers curb stomping Brady and Arians in the cold at Lambeau but that would mean I would have to root for them to beat the Saints and I don't think I could stomach that. So Go Saints? ugh...

They definitely have weapons on offense. But in the handful of games I watched this year, they've showed no wow factor and have appeared to be very inconsistent. The misdirection and counter plays need to be kept to a minimum. GB needs a good defensive performance to keep building on what they've shown the last 4-5 games. I think they're capable of it.

Weather for Saturday looks wet and sloppy.  Rodgers has said before the hardest thing for a QB in cold weather is getting used to how the ball feels and throws, doubly so if it's cold and wet.

He's had enough time in these elements that he just needs a couple throws to dial it in, but has said that QB's that aren't used to it (Goff), can really struggle cuz the ball just throws differently than normal

Gotta keep containment on the misdirection bootlegs, don't give receivers time to cross the field to the ball side. I wonder if we'll see us in  5 man front on run downs, or maybe a 4 man front with Clark & Snacks as the interior 2.

He better go soak some balls in a bucket of water and huck 'em around.  Not sure what's happening in GB at the moment but it snowed this morning and now it's raining in Minneapolis.  The kind of slushy shit that makes for a slip and slide field.

Well I guess there is a silver lining to this whole pandemic after all. ๐Ÿ˜€

Enjoy the game and stay healthy!!

Rodgers was on the Pat McAfee show a couple weeks back and he said the absolute stooooopidest drills they ever did were the wet balls drills. He and his team mates hated them and said they served no purpose...LOL.

Some of that is because of how often they switch out balls these days, it never gets the chance to become a 100lb sponge anymore.

@artis. Agree they have weapons. Their inconsistency IMO comes from their QB.

Akers is a talented back, hopefully Pettine is ready to stop the run/screens and make Goff beat us. Rams like to throw WR screens and WR sweeps. Gotta stop the short stuff and make Goff go downfield.

Goff in cold weather (small sample):

0 TD

5 INT

** Plus - recent Thumb surgery

Agreed. As Goff goes, so goes their offense.

Before the game the tarp comes off. Then the field is fine. But as the afternoon wears on then the moisture begins to be slick and possibly freeze. Next the football cools down and gets harder and maybe a bit slick too. As the game goes on then the opening game adrenaline loses its punch. Overconfident players from a warmer climate begin to rethink their macho decision to play in short sleeves. Then players like AJ Dillon hits them over and over and it hurts. It really, really hurts.
