I certainly hope a Packer friendly ref crew shows up next Sunday.
There was so much arrogant blather from sports local radio hosts about how Rodgers clavicle fracture (which completely healed) must be affecting him, or how he's lost his touch because of age, or he's not this or that anymore from last season all the way to about week 2.
Now? Crickets. None of them will eat crow and admit how dead wrong they were. Let the AR Revenge Tour carry on.
Very nice pass last night. Ironically, I'm sitting here listening to Peter King talking about how Aaron Rodgers is starting to look like himself after several years of sub-standard play.
I agree with him. Aaron Rodgers needed to play better... and he has responded. I like it.

I would bet anyone good money that AR saw that people were writing him off, underestimating him, and took the challenge personally. AR is only going to get better as he gets more comfortable in the system and the running game keeps the defense guessing.
That dude...Lazard, had one catch for his career. ONE! Rodgers went to him 2 straight times & the 2nd one was the TD. He ended the night with 4 catches. There just aren't too many people on the planet that can turn a complete nobody into something resembling an NFL WR. Especially in that situation.
Onward....Beat the Ray-Duhs!
Hope Lazard starts instead of Geronimo. Keep the momentum going.
I'm not sure the talking heads do any research anymore.
Rodgers played the entire year in 2018 with a broken bone in his leg and still managed to throw for 4400 yards, 25 TDs with only 2 interceptions. He was hurt for more than half of the 2017 season and we got to see what a Packer team without Rodgers looks like when Huntley was on the field.
The last time he was healthy for a full season was 2016, when he threw for 40 TDs against 7 interceptions and got a team with a terrible defense because of a set of DBs worse than many Big 10 teams to the NFC Championship game. That was also the last year he had two legitimate top-level NFL WRs (Jordy in his last good year and Adams in his first good year).
In 2015, the Packers made the playoffs and took the Cardinals to OT in the playoffs off of two Hail Mary passes from Rodgers. He played the end of that season throwing balls to Janis, Abbrederis, a fossilized James Jones, a dinged up Adams, and RichRod.
When he's been healthy and has any semblance of a WR core, he's been as good as he ever was. This year they actually have an OL (as long as we don't have to play Light) that won't get him killed, and when they get Adams back at least one stud WR. Also, MVS and maybe Lazard are better players than Janis and Abbrederis.

I'm with you, to a certain extent. Lazard is an NFL football player and I wouldn't classify him as a complete nobody. The kid certainly has an impressive skill set but never got a chance to showcase it.
There was a time in GB when Donald Driver was in the exact same position as Lazard. He got his opportunity and responded.
I think this is going to be another tough game. Raiders off of a bye. Packers on a short week. Likely no Adams, Savage, Allison.
Savage got out of his walking boot after only being it for a couple days per a report last week. So we will see how he is this week, but it sounds like he's quickly progressing.
Fuck Allison. GB needs a legitimate WR next to Adams and not this weekly revolving door of KumallazasheppEQ. Rodgers has to keep throwing weekly hero's open?
The TD pass to Lazard was exceptional. That was one tight window.
I'd say Rodgers is fine.
Rodgers.

"Hello Aaron. I'm AJ Green. I'd like to get a ring like yours"
It's that simple....
I keep hearing about AJ Green and Emmanuel Sanders. Is there a report out there that says these guys are being shopped around the league via trade?

There was lots of talk about Sanders out here till they won 2 games. If KC crushes the Broncs this week it may rev up agaiN.
I think with both players (Green and Sanders) it comes down to the cost. Given their age, neither is a long term solution. I could see giving up a day 3 pick, but nothing better. If the price is right, we should âkick the tiresâ

I keep hearing about this thing called the internet. Is there a report out there that it exists? Is it easily accessible?
We're also talking about renting a 30yr+ WR for about 9 games. Still too many holes to fill to trade draft picks earlier than day 3. They need a good #2 next year and beyond. While I wouldn't previously believe a rook could come in and be a solid #2, there are guys like McClaurin, Samuel, Brown, Hardman, Metcalf who are already providing good stats in their first year. This coming draft should be dripping with WR talent.
What about a trade for OJ Howard?

There's a lot of stupid shit on the internet though.

According to Vikings fans that's every ref crew so I like our chances.

Green can't be had for 3 years? I think he'd be a solid #2 for 3 years and that is getting close to Rodger's window.
Can't see getting Howard without getting rid of Graham and that's going to cost a lot of $$$. I'm afraid we're stuck with Graham this year. As for Green, I'm always skeptical of older WRs as rentals simply because it always seems as if the older guys are jinxed and get hurt when they get traded. (Okay, so maybe that definitely jinxed it, but Green is already hurt!)

Yup. I mentioned this in the Lions thread. Back to back weeks of facing teams with a bye. It will be tough sledding as they throw out stuff we're not prepared for after the self scout.
Key to beating the Raiders will be limiting Jacobs. Carr is similar to Stafford, above avg QB but can't do it on his own. Gotta stop the run and make em wing it around.
Oh yeah, we get KC after their mini bye from a Thursday night game. Good news is we get San Fran after ours.
Do you think the "short kickoffs" are something we can expect from now on since we cut our only decent returner?

"....and I've only missed 20 games(and counting)in the last 4 seasons".
AR had a good 6-8 throws last night that you could tell he was feeling the rhythm. It's been a while since we've seen him make such confident throws. That one he dropped in to GMO(?) just over the defender's outstretched arms was a thing of beauty. And he placed how many others right where they needed to be. The sideline thread to Lewis, the crossing pattern to Graham...he played like the MVP that he is last night.
I'd like to see the Packers put Da Raidas' away early....keep the foot on the throat and win big.....

Lazard isn't a nobody. The guy can play. All those passes that MVS had to leap to catch would have been caught by Lazard with both feet on the turf. 6'5". I think he may start instead of Allison this week due to Allison's concussion protocol.
