I just saw that they were that big of a underdog in LA.   I will admit I haven't watched one minute of the Rams this season but what I have paid attention to was the fact that the Vikings went out there and put up some points on that defense so I would think the Packers could as well.

But what worries me is how the Packers will be able to stop the Rams offense especially Gurley.

I really do think the Pack will be able to move the ball and score on them.  They lost CB Talib a few weeks ago and I think they're at least slightly vulnerable at CB with him out.

That said, I just have a hard time believing we can shut them down after watching CJ Beathard and co. move up and down the field on the Pack at Lambeau.  Maybe if Cooper Kupp doesn't play, that helps the Pack a smidgen.

Could have read the last few game threads here and enjoyed a little R&R last week instead.

Why did it take a bye week for it to dawn on MM they need to RTFU more?

His ignorance of the obvious is mind numbing.

People need to relax their sphincters.  I'm sure they were aware of it.  The press asked them a question and they had to give an answer.  They're either trolling us fans or giving the simplest least revealing answer.  This does not mean I have full confidence they're going to fix it but maybe we can refrain from the "OMG!!! how could they not know!!??"

I know the Packers were double-digit underdogs vs. the Pats with Matt Flynn - that's the "We're nobody's underdog" game which they covered & yours truly made a couple dollars on.

Aaron Rodgers Packers opening as double-digit dogs? Looks like the sharps hit it hard early. Packers +10?!?! That is a good bet, especially coming off a bye

Jaymo will be all over that bet. He'll be able to completely furnish his mom's basement with Playskool  and Little Tikes furniture and sporting equipment for when his buddy Brown Paper Shat comes over.

I would call it mind boogering!

Because the previous 48 months have indicated they may not actually know.

No thank you.  I'll take my chance with the Mega lotto.

Being self aware and changing are two separate things.

And therein lies the rub.

I’m actually looking forward to the next few games.  You know Rodgers will be pissed and the β€œus against the world” mentality might do them some good.

Having watched the Rams a few times it’s clear to me they are very creative and explosive on offense.  Defensively the should be really good but don’t always play that way and against good QBs this year you can move the ball on them and score. What’s important is the Packers need to convert the scoring opportunities into touchdowns instead of FGs and they can’t let Gurley go crazy catching passes out of the backfield.

At this point of the season the Ram's and Chiefs should be the leading candidates to make the SB. They both are playing championship level football. I hope MM puts a little more effort into the game plan focussing on the strengths of this team and not his wishes. If he does that, we have a chance at pulling it out late - but I think it will take a shootout type score from Packers as I don't see that D holding the Rams to under 30 points.

I choose to look at the bright side, at least they were able to win 2 of those 20 games.   Maybe this weekend is one of those 10% that they win!!

Best defense in football is Baltimore but they have Joe Flacco. Chiefs defense is pure ass. Forget what Andy Reid might **** up in the playoffs. That defense is 100% pure ass. The Rams have a great OL. A running game. An all time front 4 without much behind it.

Rams should go deep in the playoffs. Chiefs should trade a second for Clinton Dix (random sub plug). Ravens will be right there in January unless Flacco ****s it up.

Cousins will **** everything up based on him mindlessly throwing a backwards pass into the ground in a close game yesterday for no ****ing reason. He’s forever going to **** things up because he can’t help it and he’s guaranteed rich now.

Got to go with the Rams as favorites. Then Baltimore because of that defense. Then the field.

Not sure the Saints aren’t the best in the NFC.  They killed Washington and just beat Baltimore in their house.  If they get past MN and the Rams the next two weeks they might be in the drivers seat.

Yes their defense is susceptible but Brees is playing lights out.  If they get HFA you are not beating those guys in the dome.

meh, not in this thread, but kc is the king of the regular season, wait for the cold and the hardened teams to come a knockin'...then we will see, they are oh-for so far.  as far as the rams, they are beatable, but i am unsure of 2 things, who is gonna keep 30 in check, jake ryan would have done it well and who's going to cover the te, yes, the te... i am not worried about their vaunted d or the wr's with cupp being out...at least i think he's out again...

Susceptible? Saints gave up an 81 yard drive in 1:54 in 7 plays and never sniffed a 3rd down attempt when they needed a stop to end the game. They were pathetic.

No one is saying the Saints have a good defense.  Allowing 27PPG isn’t anything to be excited about.

But they’ve beaten 2 of the top 5 defenses already.  They will get tested at MN and against the Rams at home.

My point was it’s wide open in both conferences this year and if the Saints can find a way to win the next two weeks that puts them at 7-1.  With a tiebreaker W over the Rams.

We will find out a lot about the Rams the next 4 games.   Up to this point they have looked really good.

When he had a RB who was an elite runner, reliable receiver, and reliable in pass protection (Eddie Lacy) MM either handed him the ball or targeted him in the passing game 20 times a game (that's over Lacy's first 2 lean, uninjured years). That's the exact number Hunt gets. At Ryan Grant's peak ('07-'09) he got about 18 per game. Jones is an elite runner and a reliable receiver and has had 10 rushes/targets per game, but this offense demands a reliable pass protector from the RB position. I'd like to see Jones touch the ball more, but we have enough weaknesses in the interior OL and an already injured QB that it's hard to risk blown assignments/free shots at the QB. MM will use a RB, they just have to be a complete RB. My sense is that if he doesn't have a complete RB he's going to put the ball in Rodgers hands, which isn't a terrible idea.
