Short week here kids with a Saturday, Christmas eve game. 12pm LFT.

Early weather forecast: Balmy 29 degrees with Light Snow expected.

They say pictures are worth a thousand words...

In the last two seasons (including playoffs), Rodgers has three fourth-quarter completions of 50-plus yards, including Sunday's 52-yarder to set up the game-winning field goal. The rest of the NFL has one such completion in that span. (ESPN Stats & Info)

Oh, and Queens

There are so many gems I could pluck from this message board, but this one's a beaut. Written today in a thread title called Super Bowl Drought:

Post Re: The Vikings Super Bowl drought
November 6, 1966. Vikings @ Packers. Vikings win. 20-17 Next day at school I start teasing some Packer fans.
This is great I think, finally something I can fight back with. (I was teased because I stuttered) Nov. 6, 1966.
The day I became a Vikings fan living in Appleton, WI. 29.5 miles from Lambeau field. So for the last 50 years, one month and 10 days my team has been in a drought of not winning a Super Bowl. I have watched them play in one 4 times. Each time, beat by a team they should have easily beaten. Well maybe not the Steelers. The last time I watched them in the Super Bowl, I was a senior in high school. I have nieces and nephews that now have children in middle school.

I'm tired of waiting.

But I'll wait.

Because I'm a Vikings fan.

We don't give up the long boat.

Keep waiting.

I hope I never see it happen in my lifetime. From the Herschel Walker trade to TJ RubleY, to Duante getting his roll on to tampering with Favre .

F**K the Vikings from here to eternity. May they never win a god damn thing.

Besides seeing a game at Lambeau which is number 1 on my sports bucket list a close second is never seeing the Viking IN a Super Bowl and never winning one.  I know that isn't a typical sport bucket list but it is for me my hatred of the Spermheads is that deep.  I have tons of relatives from MN and all during my child hood when the Spermheads were good and the Packers ehhh not so much I had to hear about it all the time.  So here is a little game I like to play with Vikings fans of what was going on in the world the last time they were in the Super Bowl

On January 9th 1977 they lost to the Super Bowl in the Rose Bowl

in January 1977 a severe cold wave hit Miami and they had their only known snow

Gerald Ford was in his last days in office.  Yes Gerald Ford it has been that long

Don't Give Up On Us by David Soul was in the top 5 hits and rubber band man was a top 5 song.

The Enforcer by Clint Eastwood led the box office other movies were the Pink Panther strikes again, and network

Apple Computer, Inc incorporates

Freddie Prinze, comedian/actor (Chico & the Man), shoots himself at 22

I respect the rivalry with the Bares, I always feel sorry for the Loins, I hate the Vikings. I hated Randy Moss, I hated Jared Allen, I hated Brett Fart, I hate Adrian BeatsHisSon, and now I don't know who to hate exactly, maybe Brian Robison. I hate that they play in a dome, I hate their annoying fair weather fans, and I hate that they make the rich heritage of actual Vikings so lame. I hope Rodgers hangs 60 on these dolts.

I watched the vikings-Colts game yesterday as the Packers game was aired only over the radio in my area. Just seeing their defense being picked apart by Luck was thing of beauty! I mean, the queens couldn't stop a thing and their offense was worse. It looked as though these guys want the season to be over, so I say let's oblige them! I hope ARod, Jordy and Davante watch the tape of this game. Zimmer wore the big eye bandage in the 1st half and took it off for the 2nd half. I'm thinking he needed both eyes to believe what he was seeing being done to his vaunted defense. Comments on one of the football sites I read were 99.9% anti-viking on the viking page, and alluded to the vikings playing spoiler this week against the Packers. I never count out the vikings but this is our time to shine. BTW, AP is back! 22 yards rushing and 1 yard receiving and a fumble late in the game on his best run. C'mon Packers! RUN THE TABLE!

I felt good — good enough to come out and play,” Peterson said, via the Pioneer Press. “There’s no excuses. … I feel like there were some things I could have done better. I’m sure the offensive line feels the same.”

Adrian Peterson from the Greyhound drivers seat following his triumphant return yesterday. Dickweed says he'll play only if the team is in contention. Suits up. Carries it 6 times for 22 yards. Fumbles. Blames the OL. Who knows if he'll opt out this Saturday or not. I can pretty much promise the other 52 guys on the roster want this doosh out of town though.

Translation: "I would have had 220 yards instead of 22 if the offensive line were any good." Hey AP, throw that bus into reverse and hit that line again! If Zimmer had the guts, he'd put AP back on IR and end his Vikings career today.

Zimmer is a pretty good coach, but watching that game yesterday I couldn't figure out what he was doing keeping Bradford in the game and throwing several passes with less than two minutes left. It was like a puppy owner rubbing the puppy's face in its own mess. If Zimmer's trying to punish them, all he had to do was show them the film today. After that stunt, he deserves to have his team quit on him.

ah queens, crazy to believe that this pack of purple ding-dongs was 5-0 and if you include the bye, which they would, 6-0.  lol.

I called it...so far.

Yeah, the guy died and I should be a little less callous, but, it's the vikings...

Not your fault. All Vikings fans die before their team wins the big one. If that weren't the case they would live forever.

Don't forget John Randle, or that crappy linebacker cut by the Packers who always seemed to play like it was a super bowl against them.

"Ho Ho Ho!!! WELCOME to Mall of America. Can you tell Santa what you want for Christmas this year little fella???"

"Well Santa. A Super Bowl trophy would be swell!!!"

"Ohhhh Ho Ho Ho!!!!! That's going to be tough. Santa isn't a miracle worker. You see....the Vikings were essentially eliminated from the playoffs yesterday. Santa can't do much about that"

"Gee Santa. Even I know that. But I'm a Packer fan!"

"Ohhhhh Ho Ho Ho will you look at that. Time for Santa's break time you little #%^€*£"

Will be interesting to see how he responds, on his 24th birthday. Just a kid out there!

Poor Adrian.  And now DAL has a real RB so all those rumors of his wishes to play for them are right out the giant sliding glass doors of the tool shed.

I believe you're talking 'bout Jeff Brady.  Man did he get blasted at Lambeau when he was on the queens one glorious Sunday.  The OL was doing 2nd level murder on him - it was beautiful.

I didn't like John Randle or Chris Hovan, but mostly I feel the same way about them as I do Mike Daniels. Great players that were entertaining to watch run their mouths (I like Daniels though). I hated watching Jared Allen be successful overall, but he was pretty funny and always got stomped by Chad Clifton. Randy Moss wasn't fun to watch, he was so successful it seemed like he was cheating. Brett Fart was easy to hate and still is...I think what I resent the most is that I hated him so much that I actually cheered for the Lions, Bears, Giants, Cowboys, and Saints in the games he played them in. He made me do that...

McCarthy on QB Aaron Rodgers' calf: "Early indication is he's better today than going into the game. So we feel good about that."

T.J. Lang is still being evaluated, according to McCarthy. He thinks Lane Taylor will be fine. Doesn't have high concern for either one.

McCarthy hints at assignment/alignment mistakes by Damarious Randall. Those things exist for a reason, he said, and details are important.

McCarthy said the forced 19 missed tackles against Chicago. "Nineteen is a big day"

Micah Hyde broke up a team-high three passes, including the one on third-and-goal with 1:23 left in the fourth quarter that held the Bears to a tying field goal that set up the Packers' game-winning drive. Hyde's role increased when the Packers benched cornerback Damarious Randall in the fourth quarter.

Hyde's break up at the goal line was a huge play. For as much grief as he gets in game threads, etc that was a critical moment in the game. Good job Micah!

That's great! That's how I felt while listening to the game. I wish I would have thought of this. Even though the VIKES suck, I'll still be a fan.

Doing the same thing . . . i.e. Being a Viking fan for a team that consistently sucks; and expecting different results is a definition of insanity. And YOU are a "mental health practitioner"? Hell, you need to be a patient!!!

There are two iconic moments for me, both involve Paul Allen...

"Noooooo! Nooooooo! The Cardinals have knocked the Vikings out of the playoffs!"

and

"This isn't Detroit, it's the Super Bowl!"

I smile every time. Bad day? Listen to these calls... smile.

I think the vikings players and fans feel they are better without AP. They just aren't saying it.
