Only positive I have, defense did play well in the 1st half.

5 biggest negatives:

- O Line was a disaster.  They remind me of when Jordan Love faced the Chiefs on the road last year.  The Chiefs were aggressive and the O-Line couldn’t get it together.  The last 6 quarters have been like that Chiefs game.

-A J Dillon.  Seems like a good guy, but has not been as good this year as his first 2 years.  The shaky O Line doesn’t help, but Dillon is not catching the ball well and he’s running too high on many carries taking his power away.  I thought that fumble was more on him than Rodgers but who knows.

-Aaron Rodgers looks physically and mentally beaten.  I think he’s playing relatively hard, but he’s probably got the least amount of talent around him he’s ever had on offense and he is not able to elevate them like he has other units.  I think his age and physical ailments are making him less inclined to doing much running or scrambling.

-The defense continues to be awful against the run.  I think the only way to fix it is for the Packers’ offense to get big leads and force teams to be more one dimensional.  The bad news, the Packers’ offense is so shaky, they aren’t going to have many games where they force teams out of their running game.

-Mo Drayton and Sean Menenega both probably had big grins on their faces as they watched our special teams collapse and they know they can’t be blamed for it.

First stretch of adversity MLF has experienced as a HC. If things continue this trend we will find out if he has the intestinal fortitude to do what it takes to right the ship.

What I’ve seen this season from the entire offense, I don’t think 10 would be doiing any better than 12. Many things are broken.

Help is not coming.  Watkins can't get out of the tub.  Now Cobb's in the tub which is where we expected those two.  Now Watson's in the tub too and looking like another injury prone bust.  We don't have any receivers who can get open, and we obviously can't run every down.  We're fucked.  Poor drafting by Gute****sk on offense, and no drafting of receivers in the early rounds is fucking us hard at this point.  So is not drafting O - lineman worth a shit in early rounds.  Newman is a fucking joke, so is Hanson.  Their have to be free agents better than those pieces of shit available.  Defense is underperforming, MLF has no answerers on offense.  I will be surprised if we're above .500 by season's end.  It's looking like the best we have to look forward to this season is a high draft pick in the first round.

@Packiderm posted:

+ We won't see a worse performance from an offensive line again. Maybe as bad but not worse!

I wish that were the case, but if Newman and Hanson are still playing, it's bound to get worse.  Those two are real trash.

Rodgers presser was good. He defended MLF and said the scheme was good and the plan was great. He then essentially said players are too stupid to execute and now they have to dial it down and run simple plays, no motions, etc. He also said if they need to make some moves they need to make some moves.

They need to make some moves.  A lot of them.

There has to be better OL on practice squads than Hanson and Newman are.  Cut those worthless POS and sign someone.   Put Jenkins back at LG and let Nijman play RT.  Also put Tyler Goodson on the active roster for a game and lets see waht he can do. He had a great pre season.

I'm always going to watch the Packers, no matter how bad they are, like I have for 50+ years, but this is really frustrating.  They should have traded Rodgers, this is definitely not all in, and it was never going to be all in sans Adams.  It's the worst WR group in the NFL, one of the worst O-lines, an aging QB no longer able to carry a team with no talent on offense besides RB.  Time to dismantle the offense and start over.  Unfortunately, they'll still have to pay AR.  Maybe keep Meyers, Jenkins, Doubs, Watson, Lazard, Jones, ditch the rest.

Why is 12 lining up pretty much exclusively in the shotgun? I would like to see him under center and letting AJ run down hill as opposed from a dead run.

MLF is an offensive genius. Combined with the DC wizardry how can we we win? Errrr ... How can we lose?

Like seriously

Both our daughters made state and advanced to sweet 16 in tennis this week,  Youngest kid is freshman and not many 9th graders get there.   I had an amazing week.

Badgers and Packers mean little to me compared to that albeit one of them likes UW despite their shit football program.

Yet here you are.

Guys get open and Rodgers won't throw it to them. He admitted as much after last week's shit show.

Hey DJ

If you can’t enjoy your kids and what they can achieve yet you call it out you must be one pathetic human being.  “Go Packers” indeed.

By the way, I’ve been here since 2001.  How about you?

That’s what I thought.  In other words, piss off.

I’m completely shifting my focus to the Bucks and what my kids and their sports have going on.  As my wife told me tonight, the Packers are frauds.  Spend your time on things that matter.

+Nixon has good kick return

+Amari had 15yd reception and took inadvertently knocked out their best CB

-Cobb injury

-Packers are so last year, seems everybody has their O, D and now ST figured out.

I didn't see the presser but "Hey Rodgers, how can the scheme be good if it doesn't fit the talent/players on the field?"

Even IF they beat the Commanders there is little to build on here. I don't see how they can really right the ship, there is no evidence the coaching staff has any answers.

I just wrote an algorithm for an AI offensive game plan vs Commanders:

Reshuffle the O-Line + double TE/RB set, run10 straight times then throw a bomb on 1st down. Then dink and dunk 10 times and throw a bomb on 1st down. See what happens. Then repeat the plays that worked and hit 'em with the ol' quadruple reverse/ flee flicker / punt on 1st down trickeration.

Stay tuned for AI defensive plan.

+ Cowboys getting schooled...

I didn't see anyone getting open this week, but watching it on TV makes it hard to catch everything.

Ouch.  Unless he drastically improves, as well as Jenkins, we really got hosed. They were so good before, it's a shame.  That's just shit luck.

How was 69 today?  I was so entranced with the other side of the I didn’t notice him.

From what I saw he was pretty decent. He limited Carl Lawson, and Lawson was a major pain against Miami. He did fail to pass off Lawson, though and Rankins' sack was on a stunt around him.

Quinnen Williams spent the day blowing up the interior o-line (on one sack he blew up Runyan, didn't see the other). I think it was Newman he ran over to block the FG.

The other sack? I had to look it up. John Franklin-Myers lined up in the 3 gap between Runyan and Bahktiari, Williams crashed across Josh Myers' face and Franklin-Myers ran a basic stunt right by, you guessed it, Newman.

I was, and so were others who saw the writing in the wall. AR should have been traded, we're not going anywhere with this offense. We could have seen if Love was worth a shit, and drafted accordingly next year.  If this is all in, we're fucked.  The train has left, and we missed it.  At least we're looking at a possible first pick in the draft next season

We should be so lucky.  Good crop of QBs coming out.

Lol ammo

Is it going to happen?  Best and worst thread ever at the same time but hey, you keep being you

The thread that will forever live in infamy yet you still try to talk shit.  Did Dewey defeat Truman?   Well played

Look me up when they trade Burnes or Woodruff.  I called it already. Correct that - I called it months ago like I called the Hader trade a year ago.  You probably still think Paul Chryst is coaching at UW.  Wonder who called that out.

Positives

1. It's still prior to the trade deadline, so the Packers can try to get a WR if they think they can make a playoff run.

2. It's still prior to the trade deadline, so the Packers can sell assets off for draft picks if they don't think they have a chance to make a playoff run this year (just like the Brewers did).

3. The Packers have a good punter.

4. Bakh seemed healthier and wasn't terrible.

Negatives

1. The WR situation is not getting better any time soon. Watkins and Cobb weren't good enough at this point in their careers to start with to be any better than a #3 or #4 WR. Lazard is a legit NFL WR, but if he's your #1 or even your #2, you want to upgrade. Watson is looking like he's going to have a lost season and that drop on the first play of the year is going to be what we remember from his rookie season. Doubs has promise, but ideally he'd be your #3 WR this year. Amari Rodgers can't even beat out Winfree for snaps?

2. Jenkins is still less than 12 months from tearing his ACL and he's showing it. Newman needs to sit.

3. One way to overcome a bad OL is to spread the field and throw some slants, but the Packers WRs can't beat anyone in press coverage.

4. In the last 8 drafts, the Packers have picked an offensive player in the first 60 picks 4 times. Those picks were Jason Spriggs (48th overall), E. Jenkins (44th), C. Watson (34th), and Jordan Love (26th). Outside of QB, the complete lack of high-end offensive talent (outside of Aaron Jones and two guys coming off ACL tears) is just too much to overcome. Jenkins and maybe Dillon are the only decent (before the ACL) offensive players Gutey has drafted in 5 drafts (Doubs and Watson still have a chance in the future, but that's it).

I thought this guy was an asshole from his first post. (imho)

Positives:

The defense did well the first half

The game is over and I thankfully only saw the first half

Negatives:

The run defense

Continued gaffes on special teams

This is the worst Packers offense I have seen in a long long time.

The Packers finally have a legit (most of the time) defense and wouldn't you know it the offense just sucks

ETA - that mop of a haircut is hideous.

Play of OL (and QB) bigger issue than talent at wideout, IMO.

If they think Yosh can't play the right side, then try Rashid Walker or Caleb the Giant there and slide Jenkins inside.  Or keep Jenkins where he is and put Toms at guard. For the love of God, though, get that mullet-head #70 out of there. He was useless picking up the Jets' stunts. Even Tony Moll and Jason wtf-his-name were embarrassed for him.
