Widening that net..

Meeting with the Cowboys DL coach is not an interview. It’s a chance to brag.

”Hey Durde, remember that day we put up 48 points on you all? That was cool!”

The fact he's leaving makes me happy

Bulaga's take on Staley was really interesting.  Basically, his scheme is incredibly complex and will give offenses fits, but that it has to be run by a veteran group that *really* understands their assignments and passing off assignments based on presnap reads.  Cuz if you don't do it correctly you will have guys covering the wrong player and leave tons of WR's wide open.

Bulaga doesn't feel like we have the personnel to handle that complex of a scheme.  He made it sound like almost nobody does.  It's a perfect utopian scheme that doesn't actually work in the real world.

He also thought that Staley and MLF wouldn't see eye to eye. IE, they are very different personalities and wouldn't mesh well.  Kinda like how MLF and Vrabel do not work well together.  Conflict of personality.  Basically Staley is all ball all the time.  MLF is as much about the players as he is about his scheme.  Which you kinda have to be if you're a coach at that level.

Christian Parker is intriguing. Apparently, he's always wanted to coach as at 21 he became CB coach at Virginia State, a defensive analyst at Notre Dame and Texas A&M for a year each and some other stops. He was two years in GB in 2019 as a defensive quality control coach starting when he was 27 for two years, then DB coach of Denver. Denver was 13th in opponent passer rating this year while Surtain and S Simmons became All-Pros. The defenses he's been involved in were Fangio/Barry styles so GB players would be familiar with them. Parker said he learned a lot from Tramon, who learned from Woodson. Payton has held onto him as he's been in Denver three years, so he must be doing something right. Other coaches say he is super bright and an excellent communicator/teacher, and a definite rising star. He may be a bit unseasoned, but who knows?

Denver bio

Christian Parker would be interesting.  Yes the Broncos got off to a rough start on defense but after the week 5 loss to the Jets, the defense was the reason they won 6 of 7 to get them back in the playoff hunt.  And look at their personnel - they had Simmons and Surtain and that was it.  This defense should have been bottom 5 based on the lack of talent in their front 7.  They were just well coached and didn't make mistakes.  Guys like PJ Locke were stepping up and making plays.  Vance Joseph was the DC but there were real questions in Denver as to his impact as he's never really had a good defense.

He's young so that adds risk.  But things in Denver actually looked pretty good the last 12 weeks of the season and this Packers defense has much more talent.  The fact that Payton kept him on staff after Fangio was fired says something too, most coaches clean house when they walk in.

this is like a tiktok of someone posting a video of something nobody knows anything about and not giving any information about what it represents causing comment meltdowns.

Well, what did Wilde and Tausch say about Monsieurs Maafi and Mertig? Are they legit insiders?
