Not sure how accurate the list is, but you can see how they handled other offenses
Poor Tommy. He's too pretty for jail.
Pretty, perhaps. But not perfect.
If Tom gets 1 game for blatant cheating, lying about it, and then refusing to cooperate after Suh got a game for stepping on Aaron Rodgers which was then reduced to a fine then I'm going to dislike Goodell far more than I already do. And I already think Goodell is the shallowest owner **** toy in the history of commissioners.
And Robert Kraft can **** himself as well. I'm sick of that ****.
Although I'd like to see Kraft, Unfrozen Caveman coach, and butt-chin all get their asses busted, the actual punishment should more on the team/executive and a little less on the players and training/equipment "staff". IMHO.
I might even buy that Kraft was largely unaware, but his punishment should be losing draft pick(s) as opposed to a suspension. A contribution to the league kitty is surely in order, as well.
Bellicheat is the one who holds the most responsibility (again IMHO). I doubt Brady would create a conspiracy without talking to him. He couldn't take the risk of putting his team in jeopardy without BB's tacit approval. I also think he is ultimately the one who benefits the most from their "rule misinterpretations". Whether or not the helmet radio rumor is real or not, taping defensive signals and practices sure as hell affects play-calling, if not game planning.
Therefore his penalty should be a 8 game suspension (minimum). I'm trying to balance between Sean Payton and where BB stand. Not sure if his infraction rises to the level of SP's, but if he got kicked for a year, I wouldn't lose sleep over that.
Brady is next in line and I'll say a 4-game suspension and HUGE fine (assuming either CBA allows it and/or Goodell can impose one). What has happened can't be changed, but it's likely his plan to bleed PSI was his creation, and the intent to gain an unfair advantage is certainly present.
The co-conspirators that actually participated in the scheme have to be fired. The peons always pays the price; it's a shame, but that the way the world works. Reprimand their immediate superiors, and all that's left is the inevitable appeal(s).
You go Timmy!
Nobody expects the Timmy inquisition
Roger made $104,000.00 today. I'm sure he'll make the right decision.
Sean Payton got a year for not knowing what was going on. And Belichick will get......... ?
Just heard on the radio that the Patriots have had the fewest fumbles in the NFL since 2007. Coincidence?

Nantz: We talked to [Aaron] Rodgers about 'How do you like your footballs?' Because, you know, you can rub them up before the game. [Phil], you really kind of created that for everybody else in the league.
Simms: I donโt know if I did, because the quarterbacks got tired of them complaining. But he said something [that] was unique: 'I like to push the limit to how much air we can put in the football, even go over what they allow you to do and see if the officials take air out of it.' Because he thinks itโs easier for him to grip. He likes them tight. Of course, heโs got very big hands and you can tell that by watching him play.
Nantz: Youโve never heard of a guy really desiring a football to be fat and overinflated before, have you?
Simms: Everybody wants it smaller and soft, so they can dig their fingers into. Heโs such a feel thrower. You can tell. The one touchdown he threw down the field to the tight end is such feel; then he flicks it. That shows you he just has great control of it, with his fingers and hand.
Nantz: He said, 'God gave me big hands and a strong grip.'
Simms: You know, the officials do check those footballs and sometimes maybe even get lucky and put an extra half pound of air in there to help Aaron Rodgers out.
Aaron likes the ball overinflated even though it means its tougher to catch and easier to fumble in cold weather. I hope Ted asked Hundley how he likes his balls. Green Bay needs a team player like Tom Brady. Not a self absorbed stat whore like Aaron.
On a serious note. How much more bull**** is going to go down on Goodells watch before someone, anyone, figures out this **** is a path to destruction? Can it be any more evident that the current business model is monumentally unsustainable?
National Football League commissioner Roger Goodell announced this morning that after an undercover investigation, significant evidence has been uncovered suggesting that Green Bay Packers wide receivers Randall Cobb and Jordy Nelson have used battery-powered, โperformance enhancingโ gloves during games this season. โWe have found proof of wrong-doing by at least two players, Nelson and Cobb. Both players are facing a lifetime ban from the NFL,โ Goodell said.
The performance enhancing gloves, called BPGโs โ short for โbattery powered glovesโ โ work by acting as a magnet when a leather football is thrown in a spiraling motion, creating a force of circular-bound energy, attracting the leather football toward the BPGโs and sticking to them, therefore giving the receiver an unfair advantage.
You know I must be the only football fan on earth who thinks the coverage of this is crazy and I just want it over. I say fine Brady bigtime and suspend him and if hoodie knew fine and suspend him as well but please make it end. I do NOT condone cheating in any way and I can't stand the Patriots but does anyone really think the Patriots are the only cheaters in the NFL? I would bet good money that the air in the football thing happens more than we could ever know.

I think every football fan wants it over with. But if Goodell doesn't deal with it, it won't go away. That's the point.
And here's where your "bury- my- head- in- the -sand attitude falls apart Heckler
The Ref involved, Walt Anderson, said it had never happened in his 19 years in the League
No other team ever stole the balls AFTER the ref had checked them , snuck into a bathroom and doctored them before game time. No other team systematically ****ed over their opponents like the ****ing cheater ****s in NE
It shouldn't just blow over because it concerns the Integrity of the game. It is a very big deal and if we can't count on a level playing field, then the NFL just the next iteration of WWF.
**** the patriots and **** the brain-dead fans who can't be bothered with keeping a sport, an actual sport.
Tommy has gone underground and won't talk about any of this nonsense. Little bitch.
Instead he's trotting his agent out on a World wide Tom's innocent crusade speech doing tour. So we're stuck listening to Don ****ing Yee coughing up **** like this gem of a quote when asked by a Boston reporter why on earth the NFL may have had ulterior motives in regards to Tommy and the Patriots,
"YEE: I do think there was some malice intended toward Tom and the organization. I donโt know if the malice was intentional. Theyโve been winning for a long time, as we know, and Iโve always told my friends whoโve inquired about the NFL โ I tell them, there is no jealousy or envy like NFL jealousy or envy"
You go eat a big ol' bag of dicks Don Yee and please STFU.

Are you recommending expelling the Pats from the league?
BTW, FS has been really quiet. Ah well, we all mourn differently.
I was just trying to manufacture some outrage...
I also want the Pats to stop cheating, the same thing I've wanted since they busted the Pats filming signals at Lambeau in 2008. Yet they continue with impunity...
Can't win the Super Bowl without cheating. Well, unless you are one of the other 20 or so teams who have won one.
Minnesota fails to win despite the fact that they interfere with players under contract with other teams, play crowd noise over the PA systems and...well, they stink. That's all.
The problem with all the conspiracy theories is that the Patriots and Brady being at the top is very good for business. There is nothing for the NFL to gain to trash Brady and the Patriots. And even more evidence against a conspiracy: what does Goodell have to gain? He'll be criticized by everyone and he'll burn one of his strongest bridges with Kraft. It doesn't make sense to manufacture this.
All conspiracies have a motive; there isn't one here.
Much ado about nothing. Cheating and cheaters in sports? I am shocked. This too will pass.
miketpaul Funny how we haven't heard a peep from one current NFL starting QB on this! You want to guess why? 5/8/15, 12:35 PM |

Patriots fumble analysis. Very interesting read.....
Very interesting. Thanks for the share.

Sorry to use your comment for this, Dr. Bob, but there are a lot of sportswriters and talking heads out there who see the sports scandal of the day, have their opinion about how it should be handled, and just won't get over themselves if the scandal isn't handled the way they think it should be. (Not just this scandal, either.)
No problem, Fedya. Although my point is about Goodell handling it, not about him handling it in a particular way. If he doesn't address it in a way that brings closure, then the furor, at least in some corners, will continue.
Reports: Tom Brady to be suspended next week
โ Reports announced Friday that Tom Bradyโs involvement in deflating footballs ahead of the Colts AFC Championship game will likely lead to his suspension.
Reports from the New York Daily News say NFL Commissioner and western New York native Roger Goodell will likely suspend Tom Brady for a period of time to start the 2015 season.
The New York Daily News said Goodellโs office isnโt considering whether or not to suspend, but for how long to suspend Brady.
There's no game next week.quote:Reports: Tom Brady to be suspended next week
[ducking]
I predict that Brady will be suspended for 4 weeks.
NE plays inconsequential teams during weeks 2 and 3 and then have a bye during week 4. For week 5, NE plays the Cowboys in a late afternoon game. Goodell will surely want his poster boy back for a big game, so he can't have a suspension last past week 4.
Goodell cares nothing about the integrity of the game, only making money for the owners.
Um.
Suspensions are generally meted out as "games" and not "weeks"
Nice try though.
He gets 2 games I think---nobody screams about that.
In other words, Brady's deflated draft status matches his actions - and he really should have been a 6th round pick. Couldn't win a SB without stealing signs, deflating footballs, or anything else we are not aware of just yet. Who knows, maybe they are paying off the refs.
I think it would be difficult for arbitration to overturn a suspension when the charge is based on actions directly related to the game and not to off field conduct. It's possible but I personally don't think it would be likely.
League office leaks a looming suspension well ahead of said suspension so the actual suspension is anticlimactic. By the time it's anounced its old news. The NFL has this down to an art form.

When I was a child
I caught a fleeting glimpse
Out of the corner of my eye
I turned to look but it was gone
I cannot put my finger on it now
The child is grown
The dream is gone
I have become comfortably numb
