Well, this ends any talk of the Packers re-signing him. Even if there is a reasonable explanation for all the things in his car he got in trouble for, it won't matter with Thompson. Raji was looking really good last year before his bicep exploded in that damn preseason game last year. Even if he can come back and do that again while staying healthy, the Packers still need to draft a NT. The middle of this defense has been a joke for years, and getting the NT position figured out is just as important as fixing ILB.
Johnny Jolly and Koren Robinson's career path's suggest that Ted is interested in decent humans and giving them a 2nd chance. Whether that fits Guion or not is TBD
Ted could forgive the marijuana and a legally registered handgun, just as he could forgive Jolly's love of the the purple drank or Koren Robinson's alcohol problems. The fact that he had $190,000 in cash on him should just about seal his fate. It doesn't matter if he can prove it came from NFL checks with bank statements, it's kind of hard to explain why you would need or even want to have that much money in your car. Outside of drug dealing, what can he say? He was planing on "making it rain" at the strip club? Hell, if his excuse is something like that, it'd make me more apt to cut him loose than anything illegal.

Is Mother Theresa a FA?
Unless there is some trail indicating the $190k was for something illegal, I don't see how that plays in sealing his fate with Thompson/Packers.
Mother Theresa is slower than AJ Hawk.
But only by .04 in the 40.
If 3/4# of weed is worth around $4800, then you'd need what, around 30# of weed for $190k? It's a dried plant bud loosely packed in ziplocks, that's 80! of the bags pictured. Yeah, dealing from the car doesn't add up.
It's still 3/4 of a pound of weed and $190k. That's more than a blowout weekend, that's a lost summer.
Or a backstage pass.
Roll me up and smoke me when I die
And if anyone don't like it just look 'em in the eye
I didn't come here and I ain't leavin' so don't sit around and cry
And roll me up and smoke me when I die
$200 grand in Florida club isn't uncommon. Personally I don't give two ****s about Guion and he's likely an idiot but driving around Floridadumbmother****er with a gun is damn near the norm. What's abnormal is it's registered and properly secured. $200 grand in cash? Again not abnormal for some rich numbnuts in the skrip/night clubs down here. The weed, yeah probably supplying for the party because he's got the funds.
Again, this isn't a "defend the Packer" post, this is a primer in Florida dipschsittery. As Kiel pointed out, he's more of an idiot for driving down that stretch through Starke.
Sounds like Starke, FL is in a target-rich environment
I'll add that our bank sucks in terms of any interest in our savings account...his cash is probably better off with him.
Where can you get 190,000 in cash?
The picture released sure looks like the PD of Cletustown want to make this out as some big drug-ring bust.
too? After all, we only have their word so far.quote:Had he not been "extremely uncooperative and hostile" they might not have checked the trunk.
Distribution shouldn't be illegal, either. Nobody's forcing the people on the other end to buy or smoke the stuff.quote:The Costco defense. Although, sharing is still distributing, so no. Stocking up for personal use will be the argument.
Mother Theresa is slower than AJ Hawk.
Maybe now, but perhaps not when she was alive.
I don't see where there's a need for Guion to explain to anybody why he happened to have that much money on him. I wouldn't bull**** TT or MM, but what's said to them can be kept private.
The league? F 'em. They need to get their own house in order before they look at anyone else.
The police? F them, too. Talk to my lawyer.
It's circumstantial evidence of sales.
He doesn't have to explain it, of course, as long as he's okay with increasing his chances of a conviction for possession for sale/distribution.
Even in the more marijuana-liberal States (like California), they treat dealers differently than users. They're going to be coming after him hard. What it looks like is, he's moving large quantities. He's going to need to either explain it or risk going to prison.
If he's dealing, he's going down. To Floridian law enforcement, he's gate-waying their squeaky-clean teenage lollipop lickers.

Difference is Ted had a much longer history with those two players. He knew Guion for about 9 months. I don't think he'll be re-signed.
No, but she is eligible to vote in Chicago.

Maybe for you or I, but an NFL player with nothing better to do and a posse full of hard partying knuckleheads could make use of those resources in one night!
No, but she is eligible to vote has voted many times in Chicago.
Guion ain't coming back no-way no-how. Time to beg Raji to not be so lazy and optimistically throw more money in his face.
right, cause Raji would never be caught with weeed
There is only evidence that Guion is buying, not dealing. The money was his to begin with and he needed the cash to buy the stash he had. Doesn't make sense that a guy with $190,000 in his car is bothering to sell $5K worth of weed. And selling with an unloaded gun doesn't make a lot of sense either. When he freaked out with the cops he was focused on his money, not the drugs. And wasn't that from a Michael Jackson song? "I'm a buyer, not a seller."
Yeah but the math is way off. Why have $190K if only buying a bag or 2 worth $5k? Throw in that 12 ounces is already way, way more than your standard doper's personal stash, and the ball is going to be in his court to explain it. It's possible he had a freakish amount of cash, and that he coincidentally bought a freakish amount of dope. That is possible. It's equally possible he just unloaded a bunch (hence the cash) and the last 2 bags were in delivery. That's what it looks like. If it's not true, it's certainly a bad set of circumstances to be in!
He only got booked on straight possession, so maybe he was already able to trace the money to a legal source for the police. One thing's sure, there are some investigators who probably already got a warrant for his cell phone records and are very, very interested in all of his texts in the days leading up to the bust.
Whatever they find won't be good for his NFL career. I agree he's played his last down as a Green Bay Packer.
It's equally possible he just unloaded a bunch (hence the cash)
not true. they already verified that the cash came from cashing Packer checks at his bank.
right, cause Raji would never be caught with weeed
But together call Kevin Smith for a Bluntman and Chronic re-boot.
AR says:
βUnfortunately, you have to remember that you represent the Packers at all times. We talk about it a lot, what it means to be a Packer and to do things the Packer Way. It's about being a good person in the community, being a good teammate, obviously, representing the organization the right way,β Rodgers said Thursday during his weekly radio show on 540 ESPN and ESPNWisconsin.com. βLetroy's a free agent right now. I know that we were thinking about bringing him back. That's what the word seemed to be. I'm not sure how that's going to change with this arrest, but we loved Letroy.β
βI think in times like this, you need to come around a teammate like that instead of pointing the finger or turning your back to him. Iβm sure our guys are doing that,β Rodgers said. βWe hope that this thing gets worked out for Letroy and itβs a bump on the road in his NFL journey.β

Naperville man was held on a $1.7 million bond Thursday after police say they found about 37 pounds of cocaine, about two pounds of heroin and more than $250,000 cash in his possession,
Another guy unlikely to be signed by TT?
What's his 40 time?
βWe hope that this thing gets worked out for Letroy and itβs a bump on the road in his NFL journey.β
That's a pretty big bump, and Letroy seems to have taken it on at full throttle.
Interesting to see where this cat lands.
Well, I expect he'll be pretty relaxed. Unless they took away his weed.

The article doesn't say if the man was pouting.
