Gotta get creative to counter this.

Predictably, the Eagles and Giants combined to play nearly half of their defensive snaps -- 48.4 percent to be exact -- with seven or more defenders in the box against the Packers. In their first eight games, the Packers saw seven or more defenders in the box on just 25.5 percent of their total offensive snaps, according to ESPN Stats & Information.

This is what we all saw the past two games. McCarthy said they wouldn't change their offense because of the QB changes, but he has to - right? You can't expect a (essentially) rookie QB to make the line calls with the run/pass options you get with Rodgers.

Some have been calling for more passing in 1st down, but they threw plenty on 1st down yesterday with some success. The Pick-6 was on 1st down too...

I get tired of hearing opposing teams say they know what's coming. I keep seeing opposing QBs have so much time to throw. If you are missing your DBs, you need to devise a pass rush. If you don't have one, you find a way to get one. You move CMIII around, you send LBs more often, you get creative. I would have no doubt that MM is just plain tired of covering up for a lousy D. End of the road for Capers? Probably

I told you guys my life was great and that proves it!

Never said you are a dick, BK.

Just said that you have this weird psychological thing about needing to crap on complainers after Packer losses.

Then again, maybe you equate that to being a dick and if so, I applaud your ability to deduce things.

Great film study and play by JPP, young QB can't be expected to predict that.

Tolzien was staring down the receiver. That wasn't a hard read for JPP.On the INT,

Tolzien missed a huge mismatch. Nelson was lined up in the slot against a LB. A more prepared QB exloits that and makes a huge play. Instead, Tolzien went with the one yard pass to the TE that JPP picked off.

Wanted to comment I watched the video of his FG last night on Packers.com.
I thought it a strange-looking kick. When he kicked it, the ball started going left immediately, then suddenly snapped to the right and split the posts.
Maybe similar to putting a tremendous amount of 'english' on a cue ball?

In any case, I'm happy for him. He needed that.

I've watched that play multiple times and JPP was moving into the passing lane before Tolzien made his 3-step drop. There was a good yard between JPP and Bahktiari when Tolzien threw the ball. Bahk never had a chance to engage JPP to cut him.

You're right of course Chillijohn about the Lions/Steelers game. But Schwartz is the "X Factor" that allows teams to have hope. As far as the "piss people off" posts. I totally agree. Those "FIRE EVERYBODY!!" posts are ludicrous. I think you and I are probably cut from the same cloth. But I will say...Capers has to go. He's not earning his paycheck.

Or so I'm told.

No, none of you "suck". I, for one think that you love the Packers for the same reason I do. I don't think TT sucks, but being the GM allows us to question him. I don't think MM sucks, but I should be allowed to question his coaching.

I know that I'm not a GM/HC, but I DO have 2 eyes. And no matter what you're supposed to think, SOMETIMES the "experts" are wrong. Just sayin;...

Trying to find a silver lining out of what has been a disaster the last few weeks for the Packers.

++Tolzien could very well assume the backup spot.  He has the talent and moxie and leadership but he needs more practice and reps.   Good, bad, or indifferent the experience he's getting right now will help.

++Brad Jones came back and played pretty well.

++Davon House and Tramon Williams gave up some plays but they made a fair share of them as well.

++Crosby was clutch on the long FG.

++Boykin had another very solid game.   Hard to believe he's our #4 guy!

I'm as frustrated as anyone with how they are playing right now, but I was reminded by someone that we haven't witnessed this level of suck in quite some time now.  2008 was a nightmare season but the last several years have been pretty damn good and the season's not over yet.

If they can find a way to beat the Vikings they are still in the thick of things for a playoff spot.  That means the Detroit game looms very large in the grand scheme of things.   If they lose the next two weeks the season is pretty much over but I'm willing to stick with it to see what happens and hope for the best.

And at least we don't have Ray Rhodes on the sideline. Remember THAT season?

JPP stated he knew what the play was so he just sat and waited for the ball.

Yes, I know. I posted that back on page 2. I was continuing a conversation that questioned whether JPP was being honest about his recognition of the play or did he just happen to be in the right place at the right time and based on re-watching the play it appears he did recognize the play as he went straight to the passing lane and never attempted to pressure the QB.

H5, thanks for the additional info.

When the defensive players know where the ball is supposed to be thrown based on the formation, that is a tough spot for a young QB to be in. Maybe that is something AR could deal with.

I bet it burned MM's arse to hear those comments and he'll make an effort to be less predictable going forward with Tolzein.
