3 - 9
That's where this team is headed.
@DH13…Oh yes they are. I was over this squad after Washington.
You slut!
Blame 12 all you want….Tom Brady in his prime would be a disaster with this OL and WR unit.
MLF´s solution was putting steno in the booth rather on the field. Clearly that helped. People like to measure a coach by when they are winning…but the real measure of how good a coacb is is how they adjust when losing. Right now MLF is impressing no one.
12 isn't impressing anyone either.
I have been like a broken record for top-down change, but we all realistically understand that the board is not going to force MM out early, and it will be 3 more years of the silos and no accountability.
Any change to the GM or coach really won’t help much, as Murphy has his hands all over the entire operation. He should have followed Harlan’s lead by hiring someone he trusted to be the GM, who would then hire a coach, who would in turn hire his assistants, you know, like any normal NFL team’s structure. But no, it will be the amorphous blob that is Murphballkunst until mid-2025.
This franchise is very likely heading for a 4-5 year period of down years, IMO. Beyond that will be determined by the actions of the board, and the cascading actions after the new President is installed.
Seahawks doing well with the treasure chest we could have got for AR. ‘Course, we probably would have blown everything they handed to us. Schneider is a much more astute judge of talent. And he doesn’t live in a silo. Shame on the board of directors for allowing this to happen, but everyone was too drunk on winning to notice the decline in talent and the need to add talent by letting AR hit the bricks. I hope they’re sobering up now.
@GBFanForLife posted:Not sure why talent and Rodgers are being used in the same sentence. There may have been talent prior to this year but since the playoff loss and this season, the talent is lacking.
Rodgers played one of his worst games as a pro, but if you trade QBs today, the Lions win in a rout. The talent is still clearly there. You can question some decision making certainly, but there will be no lack of teams that would go after Rodgers next year if he's made available. That's what they have do do, get what they can for him (maybe it's more of a Carson Wentz return than a Russell Wilson return) in the off-season. Bottom out in the first (and maybe only) year of Love and then reset for 2024. They'd have to wait to trade him until after June 1 because they can't afford the 100 million dead cap next year, but it's clear that needs to happen.
Aaron Jones has a 20 million dollar cap hit in 2023 and 10 million of dead cap. He's probably gone. Tonyan and Lazard might get 10 million each next off-season (they are at 6.5 combined this year). So long to them as well. Bakh is 23 dead cap and 29 if he's on the roster. He's gone too.
If you move on from Bakh, Jones, Tonyan, and Lazard that frees up about 22.5 in cap space. You will be eating 33 million, but maybe you get a 3rd round pick for Jones.
Go with Love, Dillon, Doubs, and Watson. It will be like watching Randy Wright throw to Phil Epps and Walter Stanley and hand off to Paul Ott Carruth. But it is what it is.
Get rid of Joe Barry.
They really need to reset on the head coach as well, but MLF is here for a while, like it or not.
I agree MP. We missed the boat not trading AR this year, but no need to go on tilt by doubling down. This mess is solely the fault of the front office by not following the better a year too soon than a year too late mantra. It’s now a year too late. I’m not as optimistic as you are about AR’s trade value next year though. He looks like absolute trash. At this point, I think we’d be lucky to get a late second rounder.
Pos. I still have plenty of pods for my Drinkworks machine.

Not sure anyone would be interested in a 40-year-old Qb coming off his worst year, packing a huge cap number, a bad haircut and trust issues.
Minnesota would sign him and we’d get to have that joyful feeling like it was 2009 again.
That crossed my mind too. But GB would never make that deal.
We need to hang on to Jones someway somehow. He's the feature offensive star.. Dillon is just a guy. Tonyan is nothing special either. Lazard is worth hanging onto. Watson early returns show nothing like a wr that you traded up early to get, esp sending picks to minn.
If Rodgers is gone you could use a high draft pick on a qb to hedge your bets there.

MLF, looks like a deer in he headlights when on the sidelines during stressful situations. The look of confusion is really evident when things are going South.
Hard cold truth. We are in for a decade of shit football. The possibility t for a quick or soft rebuild was lost with the Love pick and not trading Rodgers in the off season.
Embrace the suck boys, we are in the shit for a while. We need to wait out Bahk, Rodgers, and Alexander’s contracts before we can even think about being competitive.
History will not judge the Gute kindly.

Picks to minn? Tonyan had an acl tear, doesn't look fully recovered. Rodgers should have been gone, too late for that. Salary cap hell, is the destination.
This team steps on its own dick more than an Indian guru…every week it finds a new combination of ways to not score points. That game yesterday should have been a fucking blowout.
The 5 game losing streak is bad enough…the fact 3 of those teams are truly awful is what is most alarming. Packers are a horrendously bad team trending down.
It’s rarely just one thing that is wrong with a team, but with every new injury I realize the biggest issue with this squad is lack of depth…and that is squarely on the GM. His poor drafts and big contracts have put this team in its current position.
As bad as Barry is, the defense has played well enough in the last 5 losses to win the game…the offense is a joke.
Certainly is plenty of blame to go around, including the GM and coaching staff. That said, if the $50 million dollar man plays even a mediocre game and the Packers win relatively easily.
Looks like Gary is gone
Initial belief is #Packers pass rusher Rashan Gary suffered a torn ACL on Sunday vs. Detroit but the player is undergoing MRI to determine full scope of injury, per source. If confirmed, injury would end the season for Gary, who has 6.0 sacks on the year. Team holding out hope.

Postitives? I think at times the defense did pretty well they were just always put in a crappy spot by that freaking offense
I think what we are seeing is a perfect storm with this team.
You have a continuous shuffle on the OL that never is a good thing. The #69 situation is going to be interesting because you cannot continue to not know if he is going to play or not. Sure he is a great talent but you cannot continue with that situation. Not sure what can be done with his salary cap number but I think something needs to be done.
The injuries to Tonyan and Jenkins are something that is killing this offense. IMHO I think they still are nowhere near 100% yet.
Watching that game yesterday I said to my wife that I think we may be seeing that Rodgers may be washed up.
Injuries my god another wave of injuries. I have a hard time keeping up with them.
Overall I am trying to figure out this team. The talent is there and there is no way MLF lost how to coach a football team in a few weeks. They are playing soft and passive football. It is really evident when you see other NFL teams play tough physical football which is something that to me has been severely lacking with the Packers.
Growing up in the GB area I can remember every tavern you would go in to would have this sign up:
Will the lady who left her 11 kids at Lambeau please come pick them up they are beating the Packers 21-0

nailed it!
Negative. Even with some key players out, we used to be able to win close games. It’s interesting that some of the players that Rich brought in for teams have done better than many of the guys we drafted. With a decent offense we would have a different record.
So, my “positive” is that we kept a home team that is used to scoring 30+ points a game way under their average.

When players don’t execute the plan or when the other team does it better, my eyebrows would go up too! But mine are smaller.
+ Lost in this suck of a season is the year that Preston Smith is having. Although I don't watch him every snap, he seems to make several plays a game and controls the edge well in the run game.
- Artificial turf. We lost our number one play maker in Jones, who knows for how long. Gary may have an ACL. Ugh.
- Composure on defense. Two weeks in a row with stupid penalties first by Walker last week and Alexander this week. I know part of that is frustration but it is completely controllable.
- Fourth down and red zone play calling. If the best gotta-have-it play call on the goaline is to throw it to a gimpy left tackle, then the coaches are completely lost.
- Rodgers is too in love with quick passes out of RPOs. At least let the o-line run block. It may be for 3 yards and a cloud of dust but let the o-line grind one of the worst defenses in the NFL.
I'm not advocating for not winning another game this year. But if the silver lining was getting into the top 3 of the draft, would they get there with an 0-fer from here on out? I don't think anyone can catch HOU again, but there are a lot of teams with only 3 wins right now. They won't all go winless but who has the "best" odds?
If my count is correct, there are 14 teams in the NFL with 3 or less wins. Damn near half the league sucks. In theory, GB could continue their craptastic season and still not pick in the top 10.
Rashan Gary tears his ACL, source confirms, and he’ll have an MRI to determine if there is additional damage. More bad luck for the
Your count is correct and there are 4 teams in the NFC that have won only 4 games. Outside of the Spermheads, Eagles, Cowboys, and Giants the rest of the NFC is pretty crappy. So there will be lots of company from other teams to get a nice draft spot.
Their best shot on paper for any more wins is vs DET and CHI and I'm really not too sure about either. They might eek out one of those in the same way other bad teams eek out wins they shouldn't. Just by the math of about half of those 14 teams playing each other, they can't all go 3-14. We'll probably end up around #7 and without the firepower to move up into top 3 on draft day.
But the real problem is - does anyone trust Gute & Co. with improving this roster on draft day? There are a handful of teams out there that have been bad for a long time despite picking in the top 10 almost perennially. And their one common thread is they didn't have an elite QB and they couldn't draft one either. We could end up one of those teams.

Wow. When I first read this I thought you had to be off on your stats. But nope - you are 100% right. So much for parity. Although this year it seems 'any given Sunday' has happened a lot, the bad teams are still very bad.
The third wild card team as of now is the 49ers who are a .500 team. Packers are only 1.5 games out of the playoffs. Queue Jim Mora.........
++ Despite how bad things were yesterday, all the injuries, penalties and ineptitude of the offense, we still had a chance to win at the end of the game.
- - Despite having a legitimate chance to win at the end of the game (not Hail Mary/hook and ladder) we still couldn’t get it done.
Our “get right” games have turned into “get right” games for our opponents.
