I am with you hungry I do not think it will happen. But I also would not be surprised if they come out as the same Packers we knew early in the season. I truly believe the Cardinals AND Panthers are beatable.
The Seahags are beatable, too.
I don't know why but I feel better about the Packers going into this weekend than I did going into the NFCC game last year.
I think the defensive scores during our last meeting made the game worse than it actually could have been.
A Packers defensive score on Saturday could be just what the team needs to pull out a win.
Packers coach Mike McCarthy spoke to the media on Thursday morning. Here are some highlights:
On Ben McAdoo [named Giants head coach]:
I haven’t had a chance to talk to Ben. Not sure if it’s official. I’m very happy for Ben to be in this position and the opportunity in front of him. Can’t tell you how proud I am of him. He’s definitely ready and deserving.
On mentoring McAdoo:
I think a lot of us who are from Western Pennsylvania take pride from being there. I remember the first day I met him. Was at the combine. He called me when I was in New Orleans seeking an opportunity to talk football. We talked on the phone that evening and the next day at lunch I was coming back from the workouts and Ben was sitting in the hotel lobby waiting for me. He drove all night to meet me in the lobby. Tremendously dedicated.
On Sam Shields:
Hopefully, he can do more today. The work today will hopefully complete the protocol. I don’t have anything to announce until he completes the protocol. … I hope today is the point where he completes the protocol.
On David Bakhtiari:
He was limited yesterday and he’ll try to do a lot more today. Today will be a big day for David.
On being on short week:
I think they both have advantages. The opportunity to get healthy on the bye is probably the most important component when you line up and play. It’s no different than when you have the bye locked up in Week 14, 15. Those are all part of the strategy you have to take with your team. Every player and coach wants to keep playing because it keeps you in rhythm.
On different feeling:
We’ve always believed. I think every team has a different feeling to it. That feeling definitely exists in our locker room. It’s never the same. Every challenge is different. Every team is different. This is a distinctly different football team.
On mental makeup for a left tackle:
The tradition of the position is what you look for. You look for a shutdown-type player. If you’re going to design a football team, the four positions you have to have – I go back to my early years in Kansas City – is your quarterback, left tackle, pass rushers and corners. To have those four pieces in place gives you the flexibility to do what you want.
On Davante Adams:
If he doesn’t practice by tomorrow, then he won’t make it.
On Jayrone Elliott:
Jayrone is one of our best special-teams players. He’s a good matchup for us. He’s a body type you look for on special teams. He can play all the core units. It would be great to get him back.
Nice find Oldschool,
After reading that analysis, I'm a bit more nervous about the game. It looked to me that the DL was winning alot of 1 on 1 matchups, not according to that article. Either way, nice article.

Clete Blakeman....oh joy
Expect a TON of def PI & holding on the Packers
If that is the case, hopefully, it goes both ways. I think our secondary is better than AZ's secondary, especially after losing the honey badger.
Seems like everyone will be a go for the game except Adams.
Friday will tell the story on Adams
Worth remembering:
@ByRyanWood: #Packers haven't had all 5 starting OL since Nov. 22 at Vikings, one of their best games of season. Would be huge if all 5 played Saturday.
Quarless season is over as well, according to his instagram. No clue what the deal is with him(cut or placed on IR) but it's likely that GB fills his spot with one of the WR's from their practice squad with Adams likely out for Saturday's game
Well, he hasn't done squat since he arrived. Guessing the NFL shut him down for shooting that gun.
Several GB sources saying via social media that he's been put on IR.
Phantom injury to clear a roster spot for WR? Either that or you'd have to cut somebody.
I checked out Packers.com, Quarrless still listed on the 53.
IR, still trouble with his knee

Probably won't change until officially reported to the league which reveals transactions at 4:00pm EST each day.
Works for me!
Per JSO:
@TomSilverstein: Source said Quarless wasn't cut or suspended. Looks like he may have been put on injured reserve due to injuries.
@TomSilverstein: Quarless was still on the injury report because of his knee. #Packers may have needed the roster spot for a WR or special teams player.
@TomSilverstein: #Packers' plan is to put Andrew Quarless on injured reserve. Opens up a roster spot for a WR, possibly Ed Williams from the practice squad.
"Damn, I've got a hangnail!"
Thanks Andy!
Sad to see the end of the Quarless era.
Not much left of the Packers receiver core. They will need Abbrederis or Jani to really step it up in this next game.
Or both. Yes I agree.
Time's up boys. Time to shine.
Saw some speculation they'll bring up Henry, but my guess is it's Ed Williams. Between the gun incident and the injury it was a wasted and forgettable year for Quarless.
I heard Henry is a beast if he has that pink feather.
Sounds like #Packers will promote DB Robertson Daniel from practice squad to fill Quarless' roster spot. Adds depth to DBs and helps ST.

@WesHod: Davante Adams and Andrew Quarless are out for Saturday's game. Bakhtiari didn't practice today but is probable.
@WesHod: Quinten Rollins and Sam Shields were limited today and questionable.
@WesHod: Also, Mike Neal and Jay Elliott were both full participants today. The #Packers edge rushers healthy and ready to go.
Great story about the pass rush. Love Pepper's attitude about them winning it like the 2007 Giants.

Awesome article!
Need Rollins and Shields....
It's official. From packers.com:
TE Andrew Quarless placed on injured reserve
The Green Bay Packers have signed CB Robertson Daniel to the active roster from the practice squad and placed TE Andrew Quarless on injured reserve. The transactions were announced Friday by Executive Vice President, General Manager and Director of Football Operations Ted Thompson.
Daniel, a 6-foot-1, 205-pound rookie out of Brigham Young, has spent the season on the Packers’ practice squad since being signed on Sept. 7. He originally signed as a non-drafted free agent with the Oakland Raiders on May 8, 2015, but was released on Sept. 1, 2015. He played two seasons at BYU after transferring from De Anza College in Cupertino, Calif. In his two seasons at BYU, Daniel played in 25 games with 22 starts and registered 110 tackles (87 solo), three interceptions, 23 passes defensed, three forced fumbles and one sack. He will wear No. 31.
Getting less encouraged about Shields/Rollins. Adding a CB to the roster seems to indicate that the team is worried that they won't have one or both of them available tomorrow IMO. Shields being Questionable today means he still hasn't cleared concussion protocol....so we gotta hope that another 24 hours is enough time for him to finally get clearance
At least Bak is back.
My guess is Robertson Daniel was the best special team player on the PS.
And they'll need him on ST with Goodson and Gunter likely seeing more reps on defense with Shields or Rollins or both likely out for tomorrow
This sucks....My bets are looking worse & worse.
Well guys it's been a fun ride...Looking forward to the draft & next year.
See ya 'round the net...
@WesHod Shields, Hayward, Hyde, Rollins, Randall, Gunter, Goodson, and now this guy. 8 CBs? Why?
