The Rams trading OG Jonah Jackson to the Bears. Interesting they seem to want to load up on picks in a strong DL draft when they did so well there the last two years and have two RBs that fit their mold, one from last year, in the other strong position.

I don’t think this stops the Bears from dipping into free agency at interior offensive line, though.

*except they just traded a 2026 4th to KC for Joe Thuney. Do they go heavy for Dalman in free agency? Maybe try to β€œsteal” Josh Myers?

Right-O.  They just grabbed All-Pro G Thuney from KC.

Poles grabs Thuney

Speculation is they draft Jeanty.

Interesting move by KC.  They free up $$ and could get younger but their OL really needed help last year, especially at LT.  Thuney is a G but now they need to improve at 2 spots unless their LT comes back better than before the injury.

The Chiefs drafted Kingsley Suamataia last year who needed time to develop, but they tried him day 1 and he struggled when teams learned his tendencies early on. Maybe they think he’ll be ready this year to play either LT or LG.

The Raiders may grab Jeanty before the Bears have a chance, but Hampton or Judkins will probably be there in the second for Chicago if that happens.

The Bears actually look like they know what they are doing this offseason. Invest in relatively low-risk moves to upgrade the OL. A 4th rounder for even a year of an All-Pro G is worth it for them.

I know Thuney is β€œall-pro” but he was beat like a dog in the Superbowl. Both tackles for the Eagles had their way with the Chiefs.

I think a lot of otherwise very good offensive lineman were made to look very ordinary against the Eagles (Zach Tom for example).

Thuney is a lot better than what the Bears have now at guard, and instead of chasing the shiny objects like diva WRs, the Bears are making solid moves.

91+ million guaranteed for a non-QB is also nuts. Crosby is a very good player. He ain't Reggie White and he's not wrecking games for Raider opponents and the reason that teams gets to a SB.

So Gary was nearly as good vs the run, had the same number of sacks and 7 less pressures (with 80 less snaps) than Crosby.... and Crosby is the best "non-QB" in the NFL???? I'll still take Khalil Mack, who had one less sack, 2 more pressures, 6 batted passes, 2 forced fumbles, and was PFF's second highest graded edge vs, the run .... and comes at a significantly lower price.

That the Chargers couldn’t find any trade partner for a once premiere pass rusher probably says a lot about the current version of Joey Bosa.

If Gute has interest, I don’t expect they will offer him a lot of guaranteed money. And it wouldn’t surprise me if Bosa wants to stay in the AFC and get revenge on his former team.
