I'm on board. Pettine retained is a definite bonus. I can't imagine bridging Rodgers window with long term stability is easy, but it seems like this hire has both in mind. Wish I could help with Zook's departure.
Henry should like this....Now we just need to see it happen
LaFleur is great (learned from Shanahans) at creating free releases for WRโs/TEโs, space in secondary and explosive opportunities on action pass by marrying run game WR splits, shifts, motions and backfield action. Also, Oline will be more physical.

Congrats to LaFleur. Iโve known the dude for 10+ years now, played for em twice. I love the hiring. Dudes very bright, very creative, knows how to attack defenses, has had great teaching and the biggest thing-heโs gonna coach the HECK out of 12 and challenge him DAILY! @packers
โ Dan Orlovsky (@danorlovsky7) January 7, 2019
Sure why not, the guy sounds good to me!
Now fire Zook.
so how do we keep our QB, (and my boyfriend) upright......through the draft?? Is this guy going to help in doing that???
Nfl network said the entire defensive staff is being retained
I can't believe no one has mentioned getting rid of Zook!
Bring monchen in now as oc.

Whatever it may be, it will be nice to have a physically fit coach prowling the sidelines.
Wait a minute....wasn't Mike Holmg, er Ray Rho, er Mike Sherm, er Mike McCarthy fit (at least into a XXL?)?

Wait. You mean actually scheme WR's open??

He'll have input on player personnel but the final decision will be Gutes.

Yes - was OC with the Rams in 2017 - RTFB!!
I wanted McD too, but this hire may work out better in the long run
12 months old but here's a good article on our new HC.
Hereโs what Tennessee Titans fans should expect from Matt LaFleurโs offensive scheme

Give him a season or two in the frozen tundra.

Right, right... I'm definitely willing to keep an open mind, but I'm having a hard time connecting the dots with why so many people are excited about this hire. He hasn't really done a thing in the NFL and has very little experience to boot. He must have given a great interview.
Onward.

Not a bad prediction considering this was 2012 and Cousins was a 4th round pick. Cousins was an outstanding value for a 4th round pick.
If Dilfer and Orlovsky are in I'm in, curious tho what does Joe Montana think.
I had a small list of coaches that I didnโt want the Packers to hire. LaFlawhatshisname wasnโt on that list....so Iโm happy.

I don't know much about him except what everyone else knows, but I am excited that this didn't turn into another month of uncertainty. Glad that they didn't do something idiotic like hire a college coach. Like that Pettine is staying, there were moments the defense looked at least decent before they lost 80% of their starters. Now am interested to see how they fill some of the blatant holes on the roster.
From Demovsky:
A source said LaFleur would like to keep defensive coordinator Mike Pettine on board. Pettine just completed his first season with the Packers. LaFleur is expected to consider keeping Packers interim head coach Joe Philbin on staff as well. LaFleur, Philbin and Pettine all are represented by the same agent, Trace Armstrong, who also represents McCarthy.
Now, we await the mission statement.

He checks all the boxes of what's 'hot' now. Young, coached under McVay and Kyle Shan. I also saw he taught high school math. Can anybody say analytics?
****KKKKKKKKK!!!!!
No to Philbert McFishsticks.

Will Brinson:
Do the Packers have a type:
Matt LaFleur - 39 years old - Titans OC (1 year)
Mike McCarthy - 43 years old - 49ers OC (1 year)
Mike Sherman - 46 years old - Seahawks OC (1 year)
Mike Holmgren - 44 years old - 49ers OC (3 years)
I like Phiblin, just not as a HC.
You know who could be a real help to LaFleur? Joe Philbin. Don't be surprised if he sticks around in some capacity.

I stopped to bring pizza home for the game tonight and local boston sports show on TV is pizza shop was livid with the hire... because the Packers dismissed Josh as not even a finalist. The locals could not believe this heresy. THAT alone makes it a good hire for me. I was OK with McD - but now that I see the pick, I dig it.

Glad to hear "Frenchy" will likely be keeping Pettine.

That is hilarious logic. You'd think they'd be happy to retain such a genius.
