Some good points here regarding us not using play action enough. We are 16th in the league in play action, while Detroit is number 1. Ran the ball well on our first series vs. Vikes but then threw 3 straight intermediate to deep passes, two out of shotgun.....no play action.
THIS! More play action. Watched that Detroit game with the Niners and Goff isn't even good at it but the LBs have to honor his pathetic gestures.
I'd like to see more play action, especially with how much MLF wants to run and how effective Jacobs has been this year.
I do have issues with the long passes, although I'm willing to put that more on Love than MLF. Most plays have deep/intermediate routes to clear out the underneath stuff, Love just needs to learn to take what's there and be more selective of when he throws downfield.
Part of being more selective down field is to select the receiver's hands rather than the turf nearby.
An aside, I think a lot of us felt KOC outcoached MLF last weekend. Maybe he did but switch offenses between them and see who scores more.
These coaches are at the very highest level, the best teams at the highest level of play....sometimes one hits on a game plan, or adjusts more quickly than the other. That happened vs. the Vikes. As posted in another thread, the Vikes offense seemed to know just who was coming on every blitz we tried and shifted their protection accordingly. On offense MLF lamented that the Vikes played much more man coverage than expected. Really? We've had trouble separating and our best deep threat wasn't playing .... this surprised you? We didn't react to that well at all. Gotta give give the fight to the Vikes staff by unanimous decision. Would love to see a rematch.
I don't want to see a rematch. I want to see the Vikings get the shit knocked out of them in the wild card game.

Rob Resischel with a "hot take" about MLF's seat getting warm. It's on Forbes.com so I'm not clicking the article. I'll trust Andy Herman on this one.
Counterpoint - itâs not a good read and is as stupid as wanting Sean Clifford over Jordan Love, Jeff Janis over Davante Adams, or wanting an owner for the team. And the world would be better off without it. https://t.co/kfm1LXchA2

The frequent abysmal starts are a problem for sure. But the second half adjustments show capable coaching.
Who's bringing the awful opening game plans? And what to do about it?
