NFL schedule released

The Packers’ opponents for 2014 are as follows:

• HOME: Chicago Bears, Detroit Lions, Minnesota Vikings, Atlanta Falcons, Carolina Panthers, New England Patriots, New York Jets, Philadelphia Eagles
              
• AWAY: Chicago Bears, Detroit Lions, Minnesota Vikings, New Orleans Saints, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Buffalo Bills, Miami Dolphins, Seattle Seahawks
                       

No Packers-Lions game on Thanksgiving this year? The Bills apparently let it slip that they're playing in that game. In a feature about 2014 opponents on their website, the Bills said:

"Buffalo and Detroit will meet for the 10th time in the regular season in 2014. The Bills have played in eight previous Thanksgiving Day games (4-4) in team history with their last appearance on Turkey Day coming in 1994."

There was NO chance the Packers would play on Thanksgiving this year, unless it would be for the third game.  Fox and CBS each get either the Lions or the Cowboys, and they alternate each year.  The CBS Thanksgiving game is always an AFC opponent since CBS gets the AFC package.  And the Packers don't play the Cowboys in the regular season.

So, back to it, does anyone know when the schedule comes out?

Doesn't sound like a sexy Monday Night matchup, but a recent report said CBS will get good TNF games leaving MNF with a weaker slate than usual.

Charming. Like I won't get heckled enough at that game. Now I'm going to be battling the DWI's at night.

Week 1: at Tennessee Titans
Week 2: at St. Louis Rams
Aug. 22: Oakland Raiders(CBS, 8 p.m.)
Aug. 28: Kansas City Chiefs

 

 

KC game is Thu night... opens up the possibility of @SEA to start the season. Also, playing at home the final two weeks of camp is nice.

The NFL link seems to indicate every team is playing Thursday for the final week of the preseason.

hmm...I wonder how many blitz packages that f**kFACE Fisher has planned for that game.

 

Also, I hope if we get a big lead our second string could throw a few halfback options to rub it in.  That's the only game Fisher knows how to play...and don't say we're above that...we will always be above a former Bear that's a Head Coach.  He doesn't forget...and we shouldn't forget.

I've never been to or had much interest in preseason games but, for various reasons, I was thinking about checking out Oak or KC this season.  I'm curious what the going rate is, generally for preseason games?  What's face value?

face value is same as regular season:

- End zone seats – $77
- South end zone, 700 Level – $85
- End zone to the 20‐yard line – $88
- South end zone, 600 Level – $92
- Between the 20-yard lines – $100

 

parking lot: you can probably get in for $20-$40 if your patient.

"Face Value" on the ticket is the same, but I don't remember the last time I got more than $40 for a preseason ticket. 

 

Curious if there's any more interest than usual in the Oakland game with W3 being the dress rehearsal and all the Packers coming back.

Interesting, well we know the Bye week of 6 teams.  

The longer the NFL makes us stew, the more I'm thinking Pack at SEA to open the season. That might be just fine to get the hardest game out of the way while likely at full strength and cover their Thursday obligation for the year without the short rest prior to it.

Good points.  Though the "new" D will still be figuring things out.

I'd be shocked if it isn't Green Bay.

 

P.S. Green Bay is going to bury Seattle on Sept. 4th. It'll be the only time all year long the Packers are underdogs in Vegas. Bet 'em now & bet 'em heavy!

That would be the biggest draw for wk1.

Disagree. Packers at Seattle would be bigger. It's also slightly unfair to both Seattle & SF to kickoff the season with a division game & put one of them in an immediate hole.

Surely you're not suggesting there be no division games in Week 1?  After all, that would be the result if we follow your comment to its logical conclusion.

If Tennessee plays Jacksonville in week #1, nobody gives a fat rats ass & obviously that's a division game.

 

Division games can be played, HUGE division games between 2 teams in the NFC Championship game from the prior season IMO is unfair.

And the team that loses has only 15 more games to dig out of that huge hole.

They have to play each other sometime.
