Just saw on cbssports an article titled (in part) Dak outplays Rodgers.
Riiiiight. As though the QB's played the same defenses. And how does one factor in that final pass, especially given the circumstances of the game?
Unbelievable.

Looks like another Nagler flashing the journalistic equivalent of the Skip Bayless SlapChop.
That was a fun game. For some reason I never doubted a Packer win. Just had that feeling the offense could come back no matter how little time was left.

I rooted for the packers vs the Cowboys.
Living in NY I know far more Cowboy Fans than Packer fans. (I think everyone outside MN and WI can say that BTW.) So I chose to root for The Packers to beat the hated Cowboys and you know what I found out...it was easy.
Real easy.
Its a different world watching a game. The ref calls go your way, the commentators love your decisions and you are confident your team will pull it off a win even with your back against the wall. And then they do.
It was really a pleasant experience. Now I can go backto rooting against them next week...but then again, its the Falcons. Playoffs are such a confusing time of year.------------------
Got to love Vikings fans. Such tortured souls.

Congratulate the Dallas Cowboys on an incredible team, the season they had this year, um but this, this game is you know... this was about us.
They're an outstanding football team but frankly we felt we were a better football team.
We're an excellent football team and we're two steps away from achieving greatness.
None better than We're nobody's underdogs but still pretty cool stuff. I'll miss M3 one day when he's no longer the Packer's HC.
Like next season after he and TT have been fired?

Including playoffs, Rodgers has completed 5-of-8 passes (63 percent) thrown 30 or more yards downfield in the last minute of the fourth quarter over the last two seasons. The rest of the NFL is 4-of-46 (nine percent) on such passes over that stretch.
When Favre first started playing, there were throws he would make that I had never seen anything like it and I didn't think I ever would again, but Rodgers has outdone him - without any of the stupid mistakes Favre would make.
There are multiple throws every game that Rodgers makes that seem to defy physics. He's probably thrown 3 of the top 20 most unbelievable passes in NFL playoff history in the last 13 months alone. Throwing a 40 yard pass rolling right across your body with 3 seconds left in a playoff game to set up a winning FG? The hail mary pass to Janis last year rolling right across his body falling backwards about 50 yards in the air to send a game to OT? The pass for about 60 yards to set up the hail mary to Janis?
Positives:
Listening to Chris Carter educate Skip on the game has been priceless. Skip couldn't figure out the unsportsmanlike conduct (19 in the huddle) play and even asked why the refs waited till the play was snapped before they threw the flag.
Skip continuing to claim moral victories because they came back from 21-3 deficit.
Negatives: Listening to Skip
that guy is a foo. I am the biggest packer fan, and I wouldn't do anything like that.
8 - 0
Not just a run, but a run vs some very good competition.
Add in PHI and MIN, who were mathematically both still in the playoff race when the Packers beat them. The only "cupcake" during the run was the #1 rival Bears.

PHI was the #12 scoring D on the season. HOU had the #11 scoring D.

On the last drive. When he took the sack. Same situation, Favre would have found a way to throw an at best, 50/50 ball.

Yes. Thanks for the correction. It was across his body in all three of those cases after scrambling out of the pocket.

Goodness. What an experience for them. Mason looks like he's got good taste to boot.
Great picture of your boys with Mason Doc!
Huh, I guess he always leans left. Great pic!
It's the baby grand piano, guys. Crosby probably plays the piano to relax...probably has that deep baritone voice like Bing. Well, actually not...I saw his post-game interview and he's more of a tenor....maybe Frankie Valli ? Let's Hang On!!!
AR's stats first 10 weeks where he "struggled"
259/410, 63.2%
2761 yards
6.73 Y/A
25 TDs
7 INTs
96.0 Passer Rating
To be clear, he was "struggling." Compared to his normal self. But, jesus. That's struggling? That 96.0 Passer Rating would put him 9th in the NFL.
In the 8 games since? Holy crap man.
195/283, 68.9%
2385 yards
8.42 Y/A
21 TDs
1 INTs
117.9 Passer Rating
The only 8 game stretch that he's been better(barely?) was week 4-11 in 2014 when he went:
164/240, 68.3%
2260 Yards
9.42 Y/A
25 TDs
2 INTs
129.5 Passer Rating
And yet he won't win the MVP.
Pfffttt... 30 other QBs.

NAACRT's will be giving him a call. (National Association for the Advancement of Cathode Ray Tubes).
The "not clutch" narrative was my favorite narrative. Right up there with his "anti-cancer patient" story line.
"Not clutch"
IDIOTS
I asked him about "icing" the kicker. He said its tough to hit two in a row from that distance but that the timeout gives you a practice kick. He was very friendly and my boys were in awe.

In Georgia dome we could use Tramon Williams too
At this point we could use the entire 2010 backfield.
If the Pack had that, they could not lose.
To paraphrase Rick Pitino when he was the Celtics coach talking about Bird, McHale, and Parish -
They ain't walking in the door.
I think they'll treat Julio Jones like they did Odell Beckham and bracket him like a special teams gunner and make the other receivers beat them. Gabriel scares me in single coverage and without Shields or a healthy Randall the Packers don't have anyone who can run with him, but I'd rather make him beat them than allow Ryan to throw to Jones in single coverage.
Given where the Packers have gone so far and with 20/20 hindsight, the biggest do-over TT would probably want is Casey Hayward at 3 years for 15 million. But I don't think you can blame TT for the CB position given that you don't expect to have your 3 top guys either hobbled or out for the year when 2 of them are 24 years old.
Who isn't in awe? As the kicker you know the TO has to be coming, but you have to block it out in case it doesn't come. To top it off, you've never hit a 50+ in a playoff game. And you're not at home. Then you watch your kick driiiiiiffftt left, only to cut in and win the game. Dang!
And props to Schum, Chum, whatever... and Goode. Both were cool as ice to make perfect snaps and holds twice in a row.
Oh yeah, great photo, Doc!
DH13 posted:And yet he won't win the MVP.
Think about the fact that he's done this without any real RBs, was without a Pro Bowl level #1 receiver yesterday, and knows he has to score almost every possession because of the injury situation in the Packer secondary.
I am a huge Jordy Nelson fan, but he's not at Julio Jones' level.
Of course, last year he almost pulled out the Arizona playoff game down his top 4 receivers - Nelson, Cobb, Adams, and Montgomery. Other than 5 catches by RichRod in that playoff game last year, there wasn't a single player who caught a pass or got a carry that got a touch in yesterday's game. In the Arizona game it was Janis, Abbrederis, RichRod, Kuhn, Starks, Jones, and Lacy.
