More news on Packer injuries.

http://www.nationalfootballpos...-championship-games/

The Jordy Nelson good news is that he has no organ damage, did travel to the game, and was on the sidelines. The bad news is he was moving very gingerly and I saw him clutching his ribs as he congratulated players on the first touchdown. Reports also said his current goal was to breathe normally again. With a week to go there is a chance, but far from a guarantee, that Nelson would play. If Green Bay gets to the Super Bowl, he would have an excellent chance of playing.

Morgan Burnett appeared to have a quad contusion. If the Packers can control swelling and maintain flexibility, he has a chance to play next week.

By video, David Bakhtiari suffered a mild right knee MCL sprain. He returned after being taped/braced. He should be fine moving straight ahead but likely will have some limitations side to side.

Slow motion showed DeVante Adams with a mild left high ankle sprain. He was taped and returned. Careful here with the swelling. I would expect a post-game boot and some missed practice but that he would try to go next week.

LaDarius Gunter appeared to have the wind knocked out of him and finished the game. I don’t seen any issues with him being 100%,

MMMD 2: Falcons injury outlook

Julio Jones left with a foot injury late in the game. The presumption is a re-aggravation of his turf toe. His coach said he could have continued but was pulled for the score. Jones will likely be limited in practice this week. This bears watching but the hope is Jones will be just fine.

Adrian Clayborn was reported to tear his biceps tendon at he elbow. Normally that is a season-ending injury that requires surgery. If Clayborn and the Falcons want to pull out all stops, he could try to play and have surgery after the season. It would be hard due to pain/swelling to play in the Championship game but he could play with some flexion and supination weakness in his elbow for the Super Bowl. Before you say this is far-fetched, ask Terrell Suggs. He played thru the second half of this season with a biceps tear.

Exactly. That is why I was surprised when watching the TD replay.

But apparently that is considered excessive bitching by some of the simpletons around here who insist on being outraged.

TExans makes most sense for Romo but cap math may not allow. I expect he will be in Denver. Texans have strong D, good offensive weapons and a weak division.

You should've seen him heckle Bart Starr.

On Burnetts injury. The following is from Medscape.

"In the acute phase following a muscle contusion, hematoma maturation, inflammation, necrosis of damaged myofibrils, and phagocytosis of the necrotic debris are main features. The goal of therapy is to minimize hemorrhage and inflammation and control pain. Limb immobilization with rest, ice, compression, and elevation (RICE) should be performed for the first 24 hours in patients with minor contusions and for 48 hours in patients with moderate or severe contusions.

The general recommendation is to avoid heat during the first 24-48 hours to avoid increasing the extent of hemorrhage and edema. Once the lesion has stabilized, heat may help break up the mass of blood and tissue; however, in the literature, this has been shown to be of limited benefit.

The use of crutches should be emphasized for patients with thigh contusions, as weight bearing following the thigh contusion injury may be extremely painful and may extend the damage. The knee joint should be flexed to pain tolerance in conjunction with the compression dressing. Compression gently increases tension, limiting the extent of the intramuscular hematoma. In addition, the position of flexion stretches the muscle, which increases tension and also facilitates drainage of the edematous fluid from the region.

The contusion generally stabilizes by 24-48 hours, and subsequent evaluation should dictate further treatment and prognosis. Reinjury is a significant factor in prolonging disability, and patients must be instructed to avoid retraumatizing the muscle."

Morgan has been key esp. close to LOS. But it may be possible for him to return if he can play through the pain. But my guess is that the risk for further injury might be too great. Cobb has the dreaded high ankle sprain which can linger.

Walking/limping wounded...

And I still want capers and TT to retire after this season.

Still breathing on Ted's picks and Cook signing. And Hyde (Ted pick) coached up to jump a WR screen in Dallas like I've never seen in years

I'd hate missing out on younger talent like Dorsey and wolf or vrabel just because TT and Capers hung out for 2 more years.

Dorsey when it's time to come home. That's my personal hope.

Harlan telling Wolf to fix everything is slightly ahead of TT telling Brett to **** off in the best decisions in GB the last 37 years. Because Wolf wanted Ted. And Aaron isn't done.

They are NOT wearing Rodgers jerseys. They all own Viking Favre jerseys. Proud Jersey owners after Brett beat Green Bay twice in 2009! THEY WERE RIGHT!!!! Ted was gonna be cast out on his ass and Brett was going to deliver a Super Bowl to the Vikings!!!!!!

Huh?

Sorry, I'll listen to DocBenni first.

I'd put money on the fact that I understand that copy/paste better than you.

Usually when you search any given whatnot injury online, especially for yourself, you'll be just short of death and have 3 cancers.

A deep contusion to muscle tissue is a whole different world for the professional athlete than... well 99% of the rest of the world.

But thanks for posting.

I think Bulaga and Linsley played it just how they wanted to.  Watch the play again.  The ball is on the 2 1/2 yard line on the right hash mark.  The play is designed to roll out to the right, not a lot of room there.  If Bulaga or Linsley initally stone their assignments or allow them outside, that might allow them the opportunity to come of their blocks and clog up a already small area.  They both roll to the right of their blocks and allow them to come up field taking them away from the area in which the pass is intended and away from where Rodgers is rolling as Lang pulls out to provide protection from the "spy" who was coming after Rodgers everytime he left the pocket or any stunt rusher that may have been coming.  It was basically screen pass blocking and it cleaned out any passing lane congestion and it worked beautifully.

Linsley did seem to be floating them back there in the second half. Collins and Irving have been playing really well for the Cowboys and the inside trio held them in check pretty well, IMO.

Pistol, I'm seriously not attacking you or anyone else here but two things for everyone.

1)  **** South Park and their part time "common sense" approach to comedy.  They are comedy writers with as much awareness as tickles their fancy at the moment.  They are self serving idiots.

2)  Go to a gay bar on Christmas Eve with a friend who has no family to go back to and listen to those who are trying to celebrate.  The group of the dispossessed, some on the verge of tears, as their only family is in that bar.

You'll think twice about the casual use of fag.  This comes from a guy that used to say fag a lot for every occasion.  No rant, just some insight to use a little empathy.
