Hopeful Gute will ring the free agent bell like he did last year. Bores already making moves and it looks like they may have a real coach. We donβt want to be cellar dwellers of the North. Time to re-load. π« πͺ

From the article below:
"Banks should go to a team that doesn't feature outside-zone blocking as prevalently as the 49ers do because he's not quick and agile enough to make those blocks. And the Vikings run a lot of outside zone.
Banks would be a much better fit on a team that features inside-zone blocking and RPOs, a team like the Eagles or the Chiefs. The 49ers drafted Banks the same year they drafted Trey Lance. Back then, the 49ers thought they would be evolving into a zone-read, RPO team, but that evolution never happened. So Banks has been an awkward fit.
He'd be an outstanding fit for the Chiefs who just traded left guard Joe Thuney to the Bears. Banks could be a somewhat cheaper replacement."
WtAF? They want a big money, interior o-lineman who has only played a full season in one of his four years?
Packers needed another interior lineman. You have to believe the Center will be Jenkins or Tom. Maybe Sean Ryan...
They needed one, but thatβs still a head-scratching move because heβs decent, but not exceptional. They must really have no faith in the guys they drafted.
TJ Slaton to the Bengals.
I could beat him with my swim move.
At least until the alarm goes off.

Niner fans don't exactly seem broken up by his departure.

Heβs kind of been their Myers: struggled hard early, got decent. He was drafted the same year as Lance.
Doesn't bode well for Monk

Spoon says Elgton moving to C.
Guess the Packers use 2025 to figure out if Morgan can replace Wallace in 2026.
Morgan is 3 years away from being 3 years away
Another former Raider.
Not exactly one of the top CBs on the market, but another warm body who is not named Eric Stokes.

Jaire is on the road out of town.

There are fights that one can lose because the opponent was more skilled, had more experience, was bigger/faster/more powerful, and those defeats are easier to deal with mentally.
Then there are fights that one can lose because the opponent kicked you in the nuts.
We all know which one that Seattle loss was.
Hobbs is quite athletic. 4.48 in the 40, 97th percentile in the broad jump, 40 inch vertical. Played both slot and outside for the Raiders. PFF grade tai past season was slightly above average.
10-15 million dollar NFL contracts are now like journeyman deals in MLB

They upgraded the OL and got a serviceable CB.
You will never go wrong getting better at OL and they likely have three guys who are Pro Bowl candidates as starters (Jenkins, Banks, and Zach Tom). Walker is a decent LT and between Rhyan and Walker they should get a serviceable RG. That should have a strong unit.
Now, they need to do something in free agency or in the draft to upgrade their edge rusher position and WR. Gary is fine. You'd like him to be more of a playmaker, but he's above average. Van Ness has not good and there is no way to sugarcoat that. If he doesn't improve, that limits the ceiling of that defense no matter who is playing DB.
Good chunk of the Pass rush market dried up quick. Some of it in reality was non-existent. If you cant get to the QB better load up on your backside.
Needed another interior OL after that shit show against the eventual World Champs
Banks may excel in GB. Thought I read he was somewhat miscast in SF because they run a lot of outside zone blocking and he's not quick enough to be very good at that. His forte is more of an inside zone blocking guy as well as RPO.

Nope. The movie completely bastardized Bernard Malamud's novel.
Loved the novel, read it first and I agree.
Chase Young is about the only Edge left that would upgrade our group.
Hobbs is interesting. Heβs been utilized in the slot quite a bit but IIRC he played a fair amount of outside press in college. Heβs not a #1, but heβs pretty solid.
I like the moves so far. Veterans at key positions, but still young. Not dropping lotto money on 30+ year olds.
Banks and Hobbs make them better not necessarily by themselves but in the aggregate.
Banks isnβt as good as Jenkins at guard, but Jenkins is significantly better at center than the guy playing there last year. Myers was average in that regard. Jenkins has the ability to be an All Pro manning that center spot.
Hobbs has a unique skill set and while heβs not elite at anything he is now probably their best tackling corner on the roster. Our corners were atrocious last year in run support.
And since he can play boundary or slot heβs likely going to see a lot of playing time. If Iβm Bullard and Nixon Iβm probably not thrilled with this move and chances are if and when they draft a corner high again they will be even less pleased.
Where things could get super interesting is if Jaire somehow returns to GB. He and Hobbs would make a very good 1-2 combo and add in their backups and thatβs a really good secondary.
Obviously they still need help at outside pass rusher and wide receiver, but my guess is they draft both or possible at a middle tier WR outside of the draft.
