From Silverstein:

So, the reason the Packers are cutting LS Matt Orzech and bringing him back tomorrow is that they will likely keep T Luke Tenuta on the 53 today and put him on IR tomorrow. They don't want to lose him for the year because he should be able to come back within a month or so. Makes me wonder if they do try to trade Nijman.

Herman is living in a fantasy...something has to be seriously wrong with him for the Broncos to cut bait on him after 3 years. Sean Payton or not...if the juice was worth the squeeze, he's be around still.

One man's garbage...

@ByRyanWood:  #Packers are retaining undrafted rookie OLB Brenton Cox Jr. on their 53-man roster, per source. A lot of upside at a premium position, and the team has been impressed with his work ethic in camp.

WR locks.  Romeo Doubs, Malik Heath, Jayden Reed, Christian Watson, and  Dontayvion Wicks.

That leaves 2 or 3 spots yet.  Who makes it?    Samori Toure, Grant DuBose, Bo Melton, Jadakis Bonds, ?

No matter who they keep that's a crazy young receiving room. Everyone in their 1st or 2nd year. Most over 6'/200lbs.

If Watson doesn't get a handle on his handles he could wind up as designated decoy.

IMO, 1 spot and it will be Toure.

I don't know.  Whenever a returning young WR comes into camp and the press/coaches talk up about how he added bulk, muscle, looks awesome, etc.; they always end up gone.

CB Corey Ballantine released

C  James Empey released

S  Tarvarius Moore released

23 of 37 cuts known so far. Less than 90 minutes until the official deadline

I wouldn't be at all surprised if both Toure and Dubose make the team.  I think Toure is #2 PR and #3 KO returner. 7 WRs and just 2 RBs is possible. I've heard some good things about Bonds so I think he is signed to the PS even if Dubose lands on the PS.

With Stokes being on the PUP list I don't think he has to make the 53 and be put on IR.

IIRC, the problem with PUP in the regular season is that he can’t do anything practice-wise for the first six weeks, meaning it’s unlikely he would be activated until week 8 at best. If he is on IR starting tomorrow (on the 53 today), he is eligible for return in 4 weeks.

I thought they would keep Taylor over Wilson because of STs. But if Jones got hurt Taylor isn't the answer carrying the ball. I know they want Wilson to work on his conditioning but he looks like a more instinctive runner than even Dillon so he could be a better option there too. I know there's a lot of emphasis on blocking and STs but carrying the rock is still the #1 skill a RB must have.

That's a surprise. Starts kind of a domino because of special teams. Just heard Yosh being shopped around.

I don't think the Packers are going to pay that salary one way or another. Yosh could be the surprise cut or the extra guy they keep one day trying to trade him.

I'm happy with the cuts so far, my main concern was that both Heath and Wilson stayed. Both guys gave it everything they could in pre season.

Once Wilson popped that 80 yard run he was no longer a secret. I think there are plenty of teams that carry a #3 RB that doesn't play STs or is proficient at pass blocking. Some team would have been all over him if he was cut. Keep in mind with these joint practices 3 teams saw him in practice too.
