The reason Janis will never be the next Jordy Nelson is that Jordy, much like all great players, relies as much on the mental side as the physical side. He has the work ethic, the confidence, the intelligence, the drive, etc. So far it doesn't seem the coaches or Rodgers have trusted Janis with routes other than a bubble screen, go route, or maybe an occasional slant. That tells me he either hasn't shown the intelligence to grasp the offense or the hasn't shown the work ethic to understand the offense and be trusted to be where he's supposed to be. If we were talking about a 2nd year player, like we were about Adams in year 2, then I would say wait and see till year 3 or year 4 to judge. After year 3 I would say it's not promising that it will click with him. Being an ST demon is fine, but I think it's funny that's a complement people pay to Janis when they complained for years about why Jarrett Bush was even on the team because he could only play ST.
Some players are just more talented than others and gooder at football
So why do so many threads on here turn into Janis threads anyway?
We do it just to piss you off.
Starring Anthony Anderson of blackish.
Go Janis!

Nah, I had some of the same hope for Davis. But Janis is bigger and fits the profile 0f that type of player that I was trying to make. Its about a possible breakout player who is already on the team. My point was that with the change in the offense scheme it would favor a taller faster player to threaten to take the top off of the defense. I could not care less over his race.
Most here disagree with my "Prediction".
I am in the minority. (I hope the word minority does not offend anybody)
AHHHHH!!! CRACKER PREACHER OPPRESSION!
I think it's physically impossible for me to pass up a joke no matter how bad. I'd probably get the shakes and **** myself.
Is Davis still on the team?
And people complain when *I* post bad jokes.
"Cracker"? LOL, you never met my full blooded Cherokee father. It was against the law for my parents to get married in SC at the time. The law was still on the books for quite some time. I remember all the crap I had to put up with in school.
Now on the other hand, my mother was kind of Whitebread. And a Midwestern gal to boot.
But Yes, the joke was lame. I need to work on that. I have to admit you guys here really are witty. I enjoy it.
I was talking about my bad jokes Jim Thorpe. You're fine.
Jim Thorpe. Old School.

Its "CRACKER PREACHER OPPRESSION!" that struck a nerve.
But, that's ok, now I feel better. Your jokes are fine, I just missed a few of them. I may not be a "Cracker" but I am a retired Army Chaplain (Preacher) and proud member of the Eagle Warrior Society. My grandmother first taught me the words to "Jesus loves me" in Cherokee. Which began my spiritual journey.
And just don't get me started about Thorpe! He was a much better football player than Janis is
If everyone likes an underdog, Janis is the best fit for an underdog on the roster. All I know is that this whole WR thing will play itself out. The GM & the coaches will make their decisions in spite of our desires - for or against, and if it all works out - fine. If it doesn't we will all complain until FA/draft relief shows up. It is the NFL cycle of life.
Ty is the only RB with experience - makes sense he has first dibs on the job. To pass him one of the others will have plenty to learn and then demonstrate on the field. It could happen - but I don't know if it will.
As long as it doesn't play itself out through injury.
Think this is the year where Janis offering next to nothing on offense finally catches up to him.
Dom Capers offering next to nothing on defense hasn't caught up to him.
I just read a great book on how complex professional football has become. Its called "Under the helmet" by Peter King. A good but difficult read. When posters here have made comments IRT scheme I am able to relate much better than before. Complex schemes only work when the players can actually execute them. (are you listening, Dom and JJ?)
I wonder who wrote it for Peter King.

He is an anomaly in race relations. Everyone Hates Goalline, a underrated sit-com.
Starring Fedya in blackface. The least funny comedy in history.

Peter King has made a nice life for himself stringing together thoughts of others. He's very careful not to upset anyone.
Frank Deford passed away yesterday. Read his work. That's a guy that that covered stories with no regard of backlash. He's a sports writer.

Never seen so many black folks with flat buts like ever.
The end when Joan Crawford takes off the wig is priceless.
Err, I didn't watch that far into it.

DH13 posted:I am ****ing giddy as a schoolgirl imagining a formation with Ty, Jordy, Adams, Kendricks and Bennett. Like I said, deploying 88 is gonna disrupt the **** out defenses.
Just remember that there is only ONE football to go around.
Just remember that the defense has no clue which player in that formation will get that ONE football.
That's what I was going for.
packaddict posted:Just remember that the defense has no clue which player in that formation will get that ONE football.
Yes, I agree. But I was thinking of the offensive side of the ball. With all the predictions for lots of catches or yards per one player or another, the more weapons in the arsenal, the more potential for fewer opportunities per player. And I personally hope that there are more weapons than the 5 listed. That is all I meant.
I simply said 88 was going to be tres disruptive, especially with both great receivers and blockers on the field at the same time. That combination is deadly with a RB that is equally dangerous running the ball as catching it. Puts the D in a really tight spot.
