Play your Janis's MM...play your Janis's

You miss that last sentence? Specifically the underlined and italics portion.

That's what Jeff Fisher will do for your career.  Not one season with a QB with 30 TD passes.  One winning season.  No emphasis on QB play.

The Packers are better today, and I am hopeful he will match his athleticism with game time performance.

That QB play (TD:INT specifically) is some special kind of suck.

Touche' sir.

In my defense there is a lot of masturbating and crying in there.

Doesn't hurt working from home either.

Henry may be number one, but my posts are all #2 grade work.

It is really the only good reason I have ever come up with for total blindness.

Cook said today that he’s already talked to Rodgers and the two of them are excited about working together, and that the presence of Rodgers is a major reason he went to Green Bay.

“I think I was more excited than he was, just to be able to play with somebody that’s so great at what he does, and somebody that’s proven,” Cook said, via the Green Bay Press-Gazette. “It was more than the top priority I was looking for. It was imperative that I find a person that’s known for getting the job done, and is good at what they do. I think that he’s probably one of the best in the league at doing it, clearly.”

If they can get their timing down and Cook can focus on his catching, watch out.

all I would like to see change is the after td/catch shenanigans.  About half a dozen of those catches/TD's would have been challenged or called back because he throws the ball into the crowd or in the air/drops it JUST as he crosses the plane.  Hold the ball genius and we will be fine, celebrate later.

After his 1st Lambeau Leap Cook will settle down and become Packer People.

Speaking of Finley....Look at the date of this tweet

It has to be killing Finley to watch this. I actually felt bad for him earlier today. But like last nights carnitas burrito. It passed.

Good input on Jared Cook from Tony Softli, former Rams sideline reporter. Speaks highly of Cooks ability as well as his character.

Softli has a good website with some interesting draft write-ups. He spent some time on 1250 Sports in Milwaukee today (aside from the "bigshow" dolts, it's a good listen):

Finley follows the team's every move and has been really supportive. He's a Packer fan.

Well, you exaggerate with the "half a dozen" comment. There was one spike that may have been too quick in the corner of the EZ and one questionable EZ "dive" where the ball came out, but he was across the plane. The rest are secure plays!

Here's an interesting blog on NFL SPARQ scores, particularly looking at TEs. SPARQ is an overall evaluation of a player's athleticism based on combine numbers. It's a good read on the Seahawks process, but you can just skip to the chart listing the top scores for NFL TEs at the time, 2013. Cook sits at #4, among some pretty good company at the position.

There have been a lot of comparisons to Finley.  How is Cook not like Finley?  Is there any noticeable difference in their measureables, combine numbers, or anything visible like athleticism?

From the SPARQ link:

"St. Louis' shiny new weapon in Jared Cook obviously impresses in the SPARQ rating - he ran a 4.49 40 with a 41" vert at 246 pounds, coming out of South Carolina, and should provide a great seam-stretching threat for Sam Bradford going forward."

Cook is faster both by clock and the eyeball test. Combine numbers posted the other day:

@TomSilverstein:

@JermichaelF88 @JaredCook89
HT. 6-4 ½              6-4 3/4
WT 243                 246
40 4.66                 4.50
10 1.66                 1.60
Bench 20              23
VJ 27 ½                  41

Not sure if you listened to the Softli link I posted above. He knows Cook better than most and even offers a direct comparison to Finley  : hands, athleticism, blocking, etc...one guys take , but he's pretty highly respected.

Bottom line, Cook brings size, speed, capable blocking that we haven't had for a while. The Packer offense just got a boost !!
