MM presser, ongoing.
T.J. Lang and Scott Tolzien are going through the concussion protocol. Both were dinged up against the Steelers.

Jared Abbrederis is still going through concussion protocol. McCarthy said he knew the injury was serious when it happened.

McCarthy on young WRs: "It's a training camp of opportunity and they need to take advantage of it."
â Jason Wilde (@jasonjwilde) August 25, 2015
McCarthy said he wouldn't be comfortable playing David Bakhtiari without practicing this week. Continuing to rehab the knee.
â Michael Cohen (@Michael_Cohen13) August 25, 2015
McCarthy said Nelson was at Lambeau this morning at team meeting, going through rehab.
â Rob Demovsky (@RobDemovsky) August 25, 2015
McCarthy said Nelson will still have a leadership impact: "Jordy is still going through the team meeting. Jordy is an old-school pro."

MM: This is a huge week for Brett Hundley and Matt, and the fact that they're going to potentially be playing against Philadelphia's No. 1s.
â Ryan Wood (@ByRyanWood) August 25, 2015
McCarthy on Clay Matthews: "Hoping he can do more. He's progressing. Talking to medical staff this week. We'll see what he does today."

As usual, the first-team offense is starting indoors. Jeff Janis is not with them. He's outside with scout team. Montgomery with first shot.

@jasonjwilde: #Packers INJ report:
Still out: Blue, Bakhtiari, Perillo, Abbrederis.
New: Tolzien, Lang, Sitton, Nelson, D.Jones.
@RobDemovsky: On the first snap of team, Packers went 3 WRs with Davante Adams and Ty Montgomery outside, Randall Cobb in the slot.
@RobDemovsky: With three O-line starters out, it was Barclay (for Bakhtiari), Taylor (for Sitton), Linsley, Walker (for Lang), Bulaga.
D.Jones tweaked that ankle again, he was gimping a bit in Pitt
Wow.
@ByRyanWood: #Packers WR Jared Abbrederis is here watching practice at Ray Nitschke Field for first time since his concussion on opening day of camp.
@WesHod: Typically a sign that a player is near the end of protocol
Be a nice boost if they could get Abby back (and he can stay healthy).
Always looking out for #1...the newly health conscious and "Non-Roidal" Clay Matthews walks to practice.
It's been 25 days since Abbrederis suffered his "who know's how many by now" concussion. He still hasn't been cleared to practice.
The guy needs to think about the rest of his life.

He has looked like glass since he got here. I don't expect him to make it, but it would be one hell of a story if he somehow did. The guy has talent. Just don't know if he can handle NFL hitting.

Also tells us that Tolzien is not likely to be back from the concussion.
Ho!
Wouldn't that be something? From what I saw reported, Tolzien was in practice today. No matter, I think his #2 job is safe and he probably won't play much. I can see Hundley and Blanchard getting some big reps. This will either be interesting or unwatchable.
Just think how many snaps our D might get Saturday.

HGH....Let's get the history straight.
Gunter is always in contact with the WR. Somehow he avoids flags. Not sure how.

I agree, here's his chance.
But I still worry he's made of glass on the NFL level. And, if he can't pass the protocol, then go start a business with Borland. It's in your best interests.
OH
and our former favorite
You best figure it out and fast. One of these other guys may be able to hold AND punt.
Not worthy of its own thread, yet. GB and Mike Daniels are a ways apart on a new contract. Daniels is looking for something close to $10 million per.
I don't see any way GB lets him go. Might want to lock him up for something around what he's after before he has a big year and the cost goes up.
Josh Sitton toying with Cameron Heyward.

I have read roids will cause little dick. I have suspected for years my Mother was on roids or mixed them in my formula. I did not know roids could turn you into Mini Mathews.
Josh Sitton toying with Cameron Heyward.
Fun preseason clip. Also love how Linsley recognized and doubled the lineman sliding over. He's our center for the next decade or so...
That was a great block. That was on Eddie's TD run, right?
The TD run was to the left.
Who's on first?
At this point of TC there's NO way Abbrederis makes the team. He has yet to practice since his injury on day 1 of TC. Only 3 scenarios for him, as I see it, 1: Cut and joins the Practice Squad after cutdowns, 2: Gets waived injured with an injury settlement (possible return to PS after the required timeframe expires) or 3: Cut and never plays again for the Pack in any capacity. IMHO.
Edit: I think the Packers are hoping he clears all the protocals and is cleared to practice before the final cutdown so they can avoid paying the injury settlement after releasing him. Then onto the PS to see if he can avoid further injury going forward.
Cut him after he is cleared to avoid injury settlement, then put him on the PS where if he gets injured they'd likely give him an injury settlement?
Who's on first?
Who stopped posting here a long time ago.
What's the name of the guy that stopped posting here ?
Exactly.
The #Packers have signed Lafayette WR James Butler (6-3, 217) after tryout. He's a former teammate of Christian Ringo and Alonzo Harris.

I don't know.
He's on 3rd but we're not talking about him!
â S Sean Richardson prefers playing press than off coverage when he's asked to guard man-to-man. The problem throughout camp is he hasn't appeared equipped to do it. WR Larry Pinkard left Richardson in the dust with a neat double move in the red zone.
â Rookie Matt Rotheram took a few snaps on the injury-riddled No. 1 offensive line for the first time. Well-schooled as a run blocker at Pitt, he's getting the hang of pass protection. "He's seeing how it works, being a pro," said James Campen, the offensive line coach. "Big man. Getting better."
â In an effort to give rookie James Vaughters a strong evaluation, the coaches intend to play him at both inside and outside linebacker.
