@TomSilverstein: #Packers will play the #49ers in the divisional round. QB Aaron Rodgers has lost all three of his post-season meetings with the #49ers, one w/Kyle Shanahan as coach. Matt LaFleur is 2-2 vs. Shanahan. GB last beat SF in the playoffs in 2001 (Brett Favre vs. Jeff Garcia).

@nwagoner: #49ers HC Kyle Shanahan said DE Nick Bosa will go in concussion protocol this week. LB Fred Warner will have further imaging done on his ankle when team returns to the Bay. Shanahan said injury for Warner similar to one earlier in the season for him.
How similar do people view the Bucs and 49ers? Other than a big difference in QB, I tend to think of them as a challenge for the Packers in similar ways - strong running and defensive teams. Is this accurate?
Not worried about this game in the least. Dallass has not been a good team for over a month. They were destined to lose to SF.
Looking at the stats from week 3 game Dillon had only 6 rushes for 18 yards. You know he will get lots more than that this game. Packers also sacked Garopolo 4 times while AR was sacked once. Whiners also had only 67 yards rushing on 21 carries. Pack only needs to repeat those numbers.

I tend to think of them as basically the same teams but as you said the Bucs have a huge advantage at QB. They both have good lines, play physical, and can run the ball. All of which seems to give the Packers fits. One area that I believe they can be beaten is the secondaries. Neither team has great secondaries but when you get after the QB like they do it doesn't matter.
Its time for the Packers to out physical an opponent.
Niners were missing a few players earlier in the season when the Packers played them. But GB's O-line consisted of no Bakh, no Elgton, and started left to right Yosh (1st career start and virtually no significant snaps on offense in his short career), backup Jon Runyan, Myers and Royce (both in their 3rd career starts) and Billy DreadsBun. Bakh is back and the line's gotten pretty damn good as the season progressed.
On defense, Barnes went out with a concussion early and was replaced by Burks and Summers. Those two logged a total of 45 snaps. Stokes started his first game for an injured (go figure) KK. And I think we'd all agree he's playing with confidence/much better as the season progressed. Packers also didn't have Whitney or Z, and they might next week.
Niners won't fear the Packers, but they will have their hands full with all of the talent GB has on both sides of the ball. Bring 'em on!
AR was very effective with the quick throws in the first match up.
As long as AR get the ball out on time GB will be perfectly fine. If he dances around in the pocket (With Bak providing extended time) waiting for somebody to come open 50 yards down the field we may have a problem.
Packers should just forfeit
MM would find a way to blow this. MLF should be fine.
Packers open as 3.5 point favorites. Over/under is 46.
A 13-4 team (really 13-3 team) at home after a bye against a 11-7 team is only favored by 3?
Seems Vegas isn't quite on board with the Packers as a big favorite.
I see -5.5 as the line
Cannot wait to get the 49ers in Lambeau facing a well rested Packer's team with several key players coming back--Bakh, Mercilus and Zadarious, specifically.
I hope they match up Jaire on Deebo.
I just don't know what you do about Kittle. He's the problem on offense.
Saturday Night it is per NBC.
We play at 7:15 cst on Saturday night.

O-3 against them in the playoffs. Time to put up or shut up.
I've seen the line at both -4.5 and -5.5. Don't get the Lombardi by beating weak teams and agree it's put up or shut up time.
I'd suggest anyone not concerned or nervous about the game hasn't been paying attention to the Packers run defense of late.
The AR Revenge Tour begins?
- Eff you SF for not drafting me!
- Eff yourself Tom Brady and TB for coming into Lambeau last year and kicking our asses!
- Eff you KC for giving me COVID earlier this year!
AR's ability to manipulate the cadence will be important. SF d-line looked like they knew the snap count better than Dallas o-lineman....Bosa looked like he was shot out of a cannon. Would think it would be dangerous to let play clock get down to zero on passing downs where they could time the snap. Of course they won't be as quick off the ball when it is 15 degrees as opposed to 70 degrees.
The game will be on Fox…
“GREEN BAY – The Packers-49ers NFC Divisional playoff matchup will kick off in prime time on Saturday, Jan. 22, at 7:15 p.m. CT.
The game will be at Lambeau Field and broadcast by FOX.”
ahh crap, i thought the snf crew would do the game...
Same thing SF did vs LA... Packers need all hand on the OL.

All the teams left are good teams and are all capable of beating any of the other 7 on any given day. However, the teams that have the best players (and usually a superior QB typically win much more often).
Jimmy G is the worst QB left in the playoffs. He almost singlehandedly lost the game yesterday for them. The Niners almost can't wait until they can get rid of him. Rodgers is the MVP, but if he's playing Brady, Mahomes, Allen, or Burrow the advantage is not that huge. Those guys are all capable of playing at a level that they can steal a game against a better team. But, he's matched up against Jimmy G. Jimmy G is not going to elevate this team to beat you (unless you let Kittle run free for throws that even Jalen Hurts could make).
The Niners have 5 Pro Bowlers. They have talent. Kittle and Bosa are better than anyone the Packers have at TE or edge rusher, but the Packers are better or at least even at almost every other position. The Packers are significantly better in the secondary, #1WR, RB, and interior OL. The Niners have an all-pro LT, but he's not better than Bakh even at 80%.
The Packers have more talent, are playing at home, and coming off a bye. Bosa and Warner are banged up. Other than missing E. Jenkins, the Packers are going to be closer to having their preferred starters than almost any other game this year.
Weather the inevitable rust in the first quarter from the bye and make Jimmy G try to beat you. I don't think this is a blowout, but if you look at it objectively it should be a 10-14 point win.
As others have said in the thread, if you can't beat a 6 seed with a pedestrian QB at home, you don't deserve to win a Super Bowl anyway.
SF WR as a group is better than what GB has. DL is not close.
Rodgers is not matched up against Jimmy, nor is Jimmy matched up against AR

I guess it depends on how you weigh having an A+ WR and a bunch of B-/C+ guys versus having "just" an A WR and a bunch of solid Bs.
The Packers are also much better set in terms of personnel to match up against Samuel than the Niners are to match up against Adams. Samuel is outstanding, but his best comp is 2014 Randall Cobb. Great slot receivers that are quicker than they are fast. Samuel ran a 4.48 40 coming out. Stokes ran a 4.25 and Alexander ran a 4.38. It's not like those guys can't stay with Samuel or recover to prevent a 15 yard play from turning into a 60 yarder.
The Niners starting corners are 34 year old Josh Norman and Emmanuel Moseley. Neither of those guys is stopping Adams without a lot of schematic help.
Other than Bosa, the Niners best defensive player is Fred Warner. He's the kind of ILB that the Buccaneers have. If you keep him clean he's going to run down guys on the edge and make plays. But he may not even play.

The run defense is terrible. One of the worst in the NFL.

Clone Jaire.
Only 2 ways we lose this game ; 1) Lose the turnover battle and /or 2) Not be able to block them.

I agree. I was talking about it more from the standpoint of if the teams are equally matched other than QB, who is more likely to make a play to beat good coverage or scheme. The definition of an open WR is very different between those two guys.
If Alexander is back and even at 80%, it's also not as easy to drop back and throw it to whoever Kevin King or Chandon Sullivan is covering.

You forgot special teams mistakes.

Not sure you are right.
1. Can we stop the run?
2. Cab Savage cover Kittle?
3. Will we run the ball to slow down their pass rush?
4. Will Aaron hold the ball like he always does against great pass rush defenses?

Best way to combat this is tempo…can’t sub fresh DL if offense isn’t subbing.
