I probably should have used the word "aggregate".

BTW: Are you sure Rodgers has 11 playoff losses?  By my count (and the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel's) it should be 9:

08: missed playoffs
09: Lost to Arizona in Wild Card
10: won Super Bowl
11: Lost to Giants in Divisional Round
12: Lost to San Francisco in Divisional Round
13: Lost to San Francisco in Wild Card
14: Lost to Seattle in Championship Game
15: Lost to Arizona in Divisional Round
16: Lost to Atlanta in Championship Game
17: missed playoffs
18: missed playoffs
19: Lost to San Francisco in Championship Game
20: Lost to Tampa Bay in Championship Game

Correct - I inadvertently included the 2008 game in which he was on roster but didn't play.

And Gary picked up that habit from him as well.  Or there's a glitch in the coaching matrix on that.

Whatever it is, I agree it can't happen Saturday.

Gary may have been doing this more recently when they were thin at OLB but in the middle of the season when the D was playing its best, he was very good setting the edge and rushing the passer.  It would also coincide with the D overall starting to look more like Pettine's lately.

MLF has said it many times "just do your job" ...coach speak for "don't chase the big play".. the Smith's did that last season after getting so much publicity for sacks their first year. Fear was that Gary was following the same path. Let's hope they have enough tape of Cowboys not setting the edge and the result , that it locks our guys in to playing within themselves.

Concerned about the run defense, but the Packers are the better team and should win if they show up. The problem has been in the recent postseason they frequently haven't.

You all know me and how much I almost constantly bitch about the Packers defense.  To me know is the time to stop playing the soft coverage they have been doing the past few weeks and get back to what they were doing so well defensively in the middle part of the season and that is get in their face and be physical.

Most of all this entire team needs to come out breathing fire and set the tone right away.  And I hope the crowd helps them out!

Gary and Preston were setting the edge just fine when the D was in shutout mode and stopping the run.  Not sure where that D went but I'm going to be optimistic that we'll see it again now that they'll almost be back to 100%.

That's one of the concerns I'll have for Saturday.  Sounds like there's a bug going around where home fans are selling their tickets for this game assuming they'll go to the NFCC game.  IIRC that was one of the issues in 2011.  I remember the announcers commenting on how much blue they saw in the crowd and how loud they were.  I'm going to guess SF fans won't be as eager to attend Lambeau in January but I could be wrong.

I think the Packers caught "sackitis" when Mercilus went down.   It seemed the Ends were looping wide for that free run to the QB and abandoning their gap responsibilities- now that P Smith earned most of his incentives maybe he will play better gap defense- which is the real key not sacks to winning the game.

Same thing with Douglass getting a little too gambly the pick sixes were great but when you give up a double move the next for a score what have you accomplished!  I noticed in the Minny game him getting chided about that so perhaps it will  help.

The game will be on Fox…

The game will be at Lambeau Field and broadcast by FOX.”

I turn the volume off; it saves my sanity!  Aikman and the other guy blather on and on and are seemingly clueless!

That reminds me. I need a great chili recipe. No beans and not too spicy hot. Lots of ground beef. The wifes chili is too sweet. But I tell her its awesome.

Sounds like you want hamburger soup

I think you will be wrong. I personally know Niner fans from here planning to go, thrilled to actually see a playoff game at Lambeau with their team. Too many were in Dallas yesterday too.

You better have told them not to worry about the cold.

Chili is made with a seasoned & seared Chuck steak then cubed.

Blended chili purée made with dried Guajillo, ancho, hatch, and Anaheim peppers steeped in hot water for 20 minutes with a couple chipotle peppers & adobo for a little heat.

Everyone in the pool. Some stock & diced onion. Few hours on simmer. perfect bowl of red.

Username checks out.

@LombardiHimself:  Jimmy Garoppolo sprained his shoulder on Sunday. But he will practice this week. Sprained it in the second quarter.

So Jimmy Garoppolo played the entire game with a torn ligament in his throwing thumb and over half of it with a sprained shoulder. Combination of both is relevant when discussing his second-half drop in accuracy. Because he was very on point in the first half before missing in 2H.

Good news on Fred Warner: His injury is NOT a high ankle sprain. 49ers will evaluate Warner tomorrow but there still seems to be optimism that he can play against Green Bay

True, but I want to see him on the inside more.  Also, delicious pass rush is what you want just as long as they're getting home, which he does pretty well.

Don’t have an issue with his delicious pass rush skills. I just don’t want him rushing all day while the Niners are repeatedly pounding the ball outside the tackles.

Have to maintain edge discipline vs SF. Otherwise Shanny knows exactly how to use Juszczyk & Kittle to open lanes outside. Especially when Juszczyk lines up as the H-back or motions to the slot.

1) Dallas lost

2) Dallas and the Packers D aren't the same

3) Last I heard Kittle is a pretty good TE.  Focus on shutting him down and guys like Deebo and Jennings are there to exploit it.  See Dallas loss.

Did you watch the Cowboys game? Don’t throw regular season stats at me. That defensive line missed a lot of games during the season.

That's from before the Rams game but they're trotting 34-year-old Josh Norman out there. I think Rodgers will pick at him like a scab.

Dallas lost due to their own incompetence.   Play scared and you will get beat.  Kittle is no different than many NFL players. They have really good 1st and 2nd years, but teams figure them out and they are just like anybody else.  That is Kittle.

It’s not just in the Cowboys’ game:

@adamlevitan: George Kittle has run 114 routes over the last four weeks. It's resulted in a total of 9-78-0 receiving.

Yeah, but was he lined up against Savage on any of those snaps?

You shouldn't mess around with concussions. Bosa got clocked bad.

I still maintain that Savage's play lately is the result of that hit he took on the onside kick. So, yeah, you're right. It was a brutal hit from a teammate.
