From Thursday practice:

@ByRyanWood: #Packers practicing:

Aaron Rodgers
Josh Myers
Billy Turner
Aaron Jones
Randall Cobb
Jaire Alexander
Za’Darius Smith
Whitney Mercilus
De’Vondre Campbell
Chandon Sullivan

Not practicing:
David Bakhtiari
MVS (back)

Bak being out concerns me a little.  Wasn't he taken out of the Detroit game due to fatigue?  I would think that live practice would help in that area, but maybe the coaches feel that risking a setback outweighs the benefits of live reps?

Hopefully I'm worried for no reason.

I think the OL is going to be ok without bak - I also think it's no fluke these bargain basement guys, 29, 59,etc are playing well - I think it's the team and their approach that allows them to do well...they may see that and consider the scheme and makeup of the team over ALL $, still get paid, but not JJ Watt style.

Bak was on a specific pitch count. He was planned to go out when Rodgers did. He did admit he was tired with his first action back but otherwise said he felt pretty good.

Their injury report yesterday showed all their critical guys as limited participants in practice.  What I've read/heard is they're all expected to play.  But we're not going to know where from 1%-100% effective they're going to be until we see them play.  Or something happens and they get ruled out saturday morning.

I thought I read that he was having issues about a month ago where he was retaining too much fluid in his leg.  They got control of it and he was able to play vs. DET but something like that could flare back up.  I'm sure he's going to be a game time decision.

Another reason to be glad Cobb is back..

I love N Liberty. My daughter and son in law lived there for a few years. Loved all the restaurants in the area. There was a place across the field from them that was an overhead door, gas station, bait shop, diner and general store. Amazing place. Hawkeye stadium on game day was really something. A very welcoming town.

Oh yeah, I know that place. I've never eaten there but my buddy swears they have the best fried chicken.

I assume the secret ingredient is leftover bait.

@ByRyanWood:  Matt LaFleur says David Bakhtiari will be listed "questionable," and Marquez Valdes-Scantling will be "doubtful" on injury report. At minimum, looks like #Packers will be without a top WR vs. 49ers.

@ByRyanWood: Matt LaFleur isn't tipping #Packers hand on David Bakhtiari beyond him being questionable. Asked him if he's in football shape to go and play a full game right now, and LaFleur did not say yes. He did say Bakhtiari is in good shape and works very hard.  Stay tuned...

@WesHod: LaFleur says Billy Turner is good to go, Jaire Alexander will be questionable. Za'Darius Smith, like Whitney Mercilus, would be activated tomorrow if he's going to play

@TomSilverstein:  LaFleur said "I'd rather not get into that one too much" when asked about the release of DL Kingsley Keke. Said "you have to make tough decisions." He thinks he'll play for another NFL team.

Really sounds like the Packers have no plans to give the 49ers any heads up on who’s being activated any sooner than they have to beyond just #69.

True cat n’ mouse at this time of year.

starting to sound like Bakhtiari‘s knee is kinda screwed up.  some guys just don’t make it back from acl tears

It's likely going to be something he has to manage the rest of his career. I think I remember reading something about how much Chad Clifton had to do to physically prepare to play every week towards the end of his career (a lot due to the effects of the Sapp cheap shot). Same goes for Mike Flanagan after his severe leg injury early in his career. The good thing is both of these guys were very effective despite the pain they were in during the week.

Great read.  I really hope the Packers are able to sign him.  I don't think this is a fluke for him either.

He'll probably go to he highest bidder and he should.   If he performs as well as he has recently in the playoffs, that's going to be a big contract.  Go get paid young man.

Going to miss the MVS deep threat.

He was really good in game 1 against SF until he hurt his hammy and the offense really slowed down without him.

I like that MVS has shown some grit and determination during his GB career, but this has been a really disappointing season overall for him.

I'd stick with Kelly over Turner.   Just don't think he is that good of a RT.

Starters
Bahk
Runyon
Meyers
Patrick
Kelly

Reserves
Yosh
Turner
Newman

You said it, Henry.  How can you not love a player like this....

When Douglas puts on his Packers jersey, he feels something change in his body. Something becomes … different. He can’t quite explain what it’s like—some combination of fire and tingling. Anything that’s bothering him washes away. “Every time I play at Lambeau I feel like I get superpowers,” Douglas says. “It just feels like my heart beats different.”

Win or lose, that's the kind of player I want on my favorite team.

So Amos has been demoted?

I don't see what advantage keeping information from the press on Bakh gives MLF.  It's not like SF is going to have vastly different D schemes depending on the LT.  They'll prepare for 69 and if he doesn't play, their jobs just get easier. It's not like knowing whether or not 12 plays.

I’m sure glad 12 advocated for 18 being back given the status of 83

Some media folks can't stop talking about the Niners running game.

Last time I checked, GB has a few RBs that could play as well.  AJ Dillon was built for this shit.

Go Pack.

If people have done nothing but listen to idiots with podcasts and network shows they're probably convinced that the 49ers have 37 pro bowlers and 17 first ballot half of famers on their roster going into the game this weekend and all the Packers have is an old quarterback who's 0-3 against the 49ers in the playoffs who likely won't even be playing for the same team next year because it's time for the franchise to move on from him.

It's a weird narrative they're pushing.

2 possibilities come to mind ...1) Players who are blocked in pass protection by the LT will spend a lot of time studying film and developing a plan of attack ... better to have them have to do it for 2 players 2) In addition, SF may want to use stunts, blitzes on Yosh that they wouldn't on Bak..don't know if this have any merit or not

It's the setup for the post season speculation drama.  The Packers won/lost because Rodgers . . .
