Thoughts:

Why is Lattimore sitting on the sidelines? Sit either Hawk (my preference) or Jones. Bring some attitude to this D.

We ran a successful screen with Lacy to slow down the pass rush at the start. Why are we not going back to that?

Capers is not only playing CJ in single coverage but playing Shields soft. That 15 yard pass play is there alllll day.

MM bears blame during this streak as well. He has his team playing with NO sense of urgency and is running this offense scared. It's just a mess right now and I cannot believe one player in Rodgers out translates in mass suck at every other phase of the game.

Yeah there's plenty of talent on this defense. I know this because i've seen them play extremely well against some very good offenses. It is my opinion that Dom Capers is the problem. I think this because the defensive players seem out of position a lot. LB's are always having to chase across the formation, Hawk is covering reggie bush, Shields is playing off coverage and letting quick slants inside, the safeties show blitz early on and expose themselves. It's a scheme problem. And it needs to be fixed by firing Dom Capers. It won't be at half time. It won't be this week. It won't be next week, or the week after. But unless they turn it around, I think Capers is going to be fired at the end of the year.

The Saints don't have any more talent then the Packers right now on defense. You have to be out of your mind to honestly say that this group can't at least be a mid-ranked defense. Dom is coaching for his job in the second half. I've been one of the biggest Capers backers on this board for years, but he really has to figure out some way to save this team's season in the second half.

I agree Bubbleboy. Look at the difference a switch in New Orleans did.

We have an offensive line that is getting schooled. A third or fourth string QB throwing wounded ducks. So what does McCarthy do? He keeps calling pass patterns with receivers 20-25 yards downfield.

Would somebody PLEASE tell him that Aaron Rodgers is standing on the sidelines with him? We need short pass plays that take advantage of the receivers. Nelson and Boykin both have great hands, but they're not going to have any impact if the ball never gets to them.

And the defense....bye bye, Capers. I said it a year ago, and everybody ripped me. And the defense is still a problem. A big one. 232 yards rushing to the Viqueens (of which 91 was to Gerhart...on 8 carries), and 148 yards to the Lions, who had the 22nd ranked rushing attack in the NFL. Reggie Bush averaging 6.4 YPC. Gerhart last week averaged 11.4 YPC. The middle of the field is open again, and again, for them to run all day.

This is about the worst half of football I can remember in a long time.

I think about 90% of the board is on board with your thoughts.

Capers coaching for his job in 2nd half. Absolutely ridiculous this defense!

The one thing I'll say is this defense was great against the run early in the season. WTF happened!?!?

...and if you said it last year, you were wrong. Saying it this year, you're right.

You can't be predicting rain for 10 straight years, then when it rains scream "SEE!?!? I'm RIGHT!"

The Lions don't respect Flynn at all, so they are able to press and completely negate the run game. So, we need to mix it up. Some quick strike slant patterns across the middle to Nelson, or Boykin. Some screen plays. Hell, anything to slow the defense down. Flynn doesn't have any arm strength right now. But he at least has some accuracy. So take advantage of it.

No more wounded ducks wobbling harmlessly through the air 25 yards down field, please.

The offense has to get something going, because as bad as the defense has been giving up 300 + yards, they've caused some turnovers, and scored a TD. The offense has done nothing.

When was the last time they played extremely well against a very good offense? The best games they played were against a struggling Ravens offense, and that was nearly blown by Jerron Mcmillan in the final minutes, and a Megatronless Lions team. They've have not played a solid 60 minutes in a long time.

I agree on Capers but the starting ILB's are mediocre on a good day. MD Jennings should be a backup.
