This guy gets it.

Thanks. I can't say that I am happy about what happened, but it is definitely not time to jump off the bridge. There are a bunch of new players playing on defense and I think it will take time for this unit to gel. Getting Walden back will help this week. Getting Neal back will help in three weeks (I hope). Hopefully, House will get back soon. That would help by addition by subtraction. Bush needs to stay on special teams. He has a great heart, but he needs the talent too in order to play CB in this league.

Yeah, I'd just like to know which team on the remaining schedule is better than SF. Perhaps, MAYbe the NYG if they're the 'good' Giants and not the above-average Giants. Otherwise, are the Barfs better? No. Saints? No. Texans? No.

When I looked at the schedule I thought the game at Houston might be their toughest test, but SF is no pushover. That team can flat out play defense, and they remind me of the Bucs D with Derrick Brooks in his prime and the Ravens D with Ray Lewis in his prime. A truly great D will always give good offenses all they can stomach.

Houston is similar in that way and they have very good power running game which usually doesn't bode well for the Packers.

Other than SF and Houston there is not one game remaining on the schedule where I don't think they should be even or favored to win. Saints can't play D, Giants could very well be down this year, and the Bears and Lions aren't sure things either.
Just watched it again, in slow mo. Packer D wasn't as terrible as made out. Would have stopped SF drives but had questionable penalty on Bush that continued drive, ridiculous penalty on Mathews and Woodson's foul (grab, grab, grab) which SF was doing the whole game. Last touchdown run was simply Hawk running into the pile as usual and not able to find the ballcarrier until he was ten yards past him. Hawk has no instincts, is slow, half the time is guarding no one, and as most of us know gets his tackles after long gains. On the play after Mathews got called for roughing, Hawk got credit for a tackle but was pushed back nine yards by the lineman into the ballcarrier. Can't believe coaches can't see this. Perry shouldn't be covering anyone, but he can make tackles at the line and gets some push. Raji needs to be better.

Good news is that the offense was moving well against the vaunted SF D. Newhouse was terrific. Cobb, Jordy, Jones were all getting open. Rodgers uncharacteristic interception and a couple of Finley drops were the major mistakes, and no running game was an issue, but SF has one advantage over every other team, especially ours. They have tremendous linebackers who can hit the holes against the run and cover the middle of the field.

Once Hawk is replaced, which will happen, we will be greatly improved. Not worried about the offense.
