Loins fans going nuts!
@Goalline posted:Yes, it was, and I never bought Chris Rock as a gangster.
Yeah, that was a reach for sure.
Man, I kind of expected the Rams to work the Lions tonight but it's been the other way around early.
Campbell has them pumped up instead of anxious. He’s an excellent leader, just not a great game manager.
Let’s see how it plays out when the juice stops pumping.
Yup. And a play like that can change the momentum and increase the pucker factor.
Nacua is so good!
Both defenses are weak. Lion fans stoked by Packer win so they can get another home playoff game.
we shall see.
Rams slowly gaining control over the Lions.
I'm kind of rooting for Stafford and Co. Puka with a big play.
Higbee was pummeled as Joseph went low.
Puka held, no call.
Nacua clearly interfered with as Sutton had a handful of jersey. but no call.
The best prepared D to face LAR and SF?
GB. They see the offense in practice every day. Too bad it looks like LAR are out.
You sure about that??
Ok NOW the clock is at :00
Lions move on
Rams should have went for it on 4th down. They only had 1 T O left, gave the game away with the punt.
Niners favored by 9.5.

I thought they should've called their last TO before the 2-Minute warning.
Didn't think the punt was that bad. His defense had shut down the Lions in the 2nd half up to that point
Refs let Lions hammer Rams players all game long. The late hit and then slammed by another lineman and Stafford's eyes roll back. The last pass with the jersey yank and early hit. A hit OOB. Refs can't find the flag.
Playoff football. They usually let 'em play....I'm all about it except the egregious fouls. The holds on Micah Parsons by the Packers.....rightfully called.
A minor tug on the back of a jersey by a Lion defender that didn't stop the receiver from making a catch on a imperfectly over thrown ball....Swallow the whistle and keep the flag in your pocket.
Don't expect anything different next week
Lions vs. Packers for the NFC Championship Game is going to happen, isn't it?

For the first time in my LIFE. The Detroit Lions:

- Won a playoff game
Enjoy this Detroit… but it’s on to next week.#AllGrit pic.twitter.com/p8fsepDWlE

If CHI actually makes the right decisions this offseason sitting in the catbird's seat (yes, i know) the NFCN will get really good.

Agreed. And I don’t think the Vikings are a hopeless case either if they even have just a good QB. That Justin Jefferson plus Jordan Addison combo is legit if they have a guy like Russell Wilson or a healthy Kirk Cousins throwing to them.
I fully expect the Vikes to either draft a guy like Michael Penix or trade for someone like Russell Wilson to stay competitive.
@lovepack posted:I thought he did well. But Billy Bob Thornton gave a tour de force in his season.
Billy Bob is a great actor and that was one of his best roles.
Rock was good. I just had problems suspending belief and seeing him as a gangster. Like most comedians who go into acting he seems to take well to it.
I have Buffalo and the Bucs moving on tonight. Buffalo is rolling like GB and the Eagles are a hot fucking mess.
IMO.....the biggest mistake McVay made was not calling his final timeout BEFORE the 2-minute warning. IDGAF what these ANALytics say. 👇🏼
LAR decided to punt to DET from the DET 44 on 4th & 14 with 4:15 remaining in the 4th while losing 23 to 24.
— Surrender Index 90 (@surrender_idx90) January 15, 2024
With a Surrender Index of 29.05, this punt ranks at the 99.2nd percentile of cowardly punts of the 2023 season, and the 98th percentile of all punts since 1999.
You cannot tell me going for it on 4th and 14 is a better decision than punting the ball when your defense had completely shut down the lion offense in the second half.
If you have all 3 T O yes. But with only 1 they gave the game away. How easily we forget 4th and 26.
Was Ed Donatell and Darren Sharper playing for DET last night?
The odds of you successfully completing a 15 yard 4th & 14 are much lower than your defense performing a 3 & out especially when you have history in the 2nd half of doing so.
Ram defense allowed 3 friggin points in the 2nd half. They shut them down except on the last drive when they needed one more stop.
If I'm McVay I stand on that podium and say I'd make that same decision 100 times out of 100.
Hindsight doesn't work here. Making in game decisions at the time with information you have is the way to go.
You're always going to be second guessed as a HC because a-holes have the benefit of hindsight that you do not have.
AFC Wildcard game between Pittsburgh and Buffalo just underway. Buffalo defers and Pittsburgh has the ball. TJ Watt not playing.
Steelers forced to punt. Buffalo moving the ball.
Dawson Knox, TD. Buffalo leads 7-0.

Guess will agree to disagree here Boss. Being Detroit had not moved the ball most of the half made it more likely they would eventually. You always bet the odds, the odds were Detroit was going to move the ball enough to run out the clock. And that is just what they did. Not using hindsight, I thought they gave it away the second they punted.
Weren't they in DET territory?
If they didn't get the first they still would have needed to get a 3 and out after the turnover on downs.

Just because Joe Barry sucked the first three quarters of the season doesn't make it more likely he'd eventually not suck.
