Yep

When his foot lands on Rodgers the 2nd time....anybody could feel that their foot isn't on flat surface and is standing on body part, etc. He could have easily lifted the leg and stepped aside but he takes the opportunity to lift his other leg, applying all his weight on the foot that's standing on Rodgers, and then takes a step forward

The play calling is quite dependent on the defense. Detroit was begging us to run by playing only 6 in the box for alot of the game. When we weren't able to get in the end zone early it made their strategy work.....give up runs & yardage but no long TD's in the passing game / try to make us kick field goals in the red zone. That is really the best way to play us, doing so held the offense to 21 pts. ( the other thing it does is that it gives us less possessions by making us use multi-play, time consuming drives).

Dirty players making dirty plays.  He won't get suspended bc he was backing up, still a cheap play.

It it no wonder he disappears, he thinks he needs to play that way to win.

I tend to agree with you R-K-B except for his reputation and prior bad acts. I could see his wallet being $50, 000 lighter by this afternoon.  I can also see Caldwell paying the fine for him.

He has earned his reputation, but I don't think they'll suspend him. It was clearly a subtle cheap shot, not as obvious as the Raiola stomp was the week prior though

He'll get a hefty fine and a slap on the wrist. Dude's a turd either way

A fine means there has been a rules violation.

Suh is a serial offender. Already has been fined.

Ergo if there is any punishment for wrongdoing in this case there has to be a suspension.

Taking money out of Suh's pocket has had no effect to date and the organization and teammates haven't felt any impact. The only way to force culture change on turd organizations like this is wins and losses. Taking Suh off the field for a playoff game (and perhaps many more future games), drastically impacting Detroit's chances on the field, is the sole way to send an enduring message to the Suh's, the Caldwell's, the Mayhew's in this league.

No guarantee it will work in this instance. But it is the signal that has to be sent to the Lions and to the rest of the league.

agree.  good point.   If Commish Badall wants to really "clean up" the NFL, Suh should be suspended.  But, because it's Playoff football now, I just don't think it'll happen.  Maybe the fine will be ridiculously high so it makes news.

and the fact, that he doesn't look back to see what hes stepping on, tells me did on purpose.

To jump on the Brad Jones beat down…I think he made the textbook block in the back  to spring Hyde for the punt return. I cursed and said that's coming back…..and somehow they didn't call it..very lucky

And to get back to the officiating crew beat down…I thought the face mask to Richard Rodgers was weak..although I think you might have been able to flag the hit out of bounds….but comparing that incidental contact to the dangerous mask grab to Casey Hayward is remarkable…yes it's a fast moving game---way to fast Walt Anderson's crew…every week I think this will be the game that changes the NFL's position on part time officials.

And to jump on the self loathing beat down…What a great game…and I didn't enjoy it…I pissed and moaned and hollered throughout.

What the hell are the officials supposed to do the rest of the week that will make them more effective?

It seems that if the league believes it was deliberate, they would have to suspend him given his past history and the supposed emphasis on player safety.  If they feel there is not enough evidence, then nothing,  I don't see how just a fine is even in play.

In watching the video, I don't think there's any doubt that it was intentional.  It doesn't matter that he had his back turned and was backing up.  It doesn't matter that he wasn't looking at Rodgers.  The sequence of his movements clearly indicates that he increases his pressure rather than decreases his pressure once he senses he is stepping on Rodgers' leg.  I think the only possible question up for debate is whether the first step on Rodgers' leg was intentional.  I personally suspect that was intentional too and that Suh definitely knew Rodgers was there.  The first step on his leg is to locate his position and the second step is to intensify the pressure and increase the potential harm.

Watch Pep just ragdoll his guy.

He may be invisible for large stretches but he has been showing up to make big plays, that's for sure.

@TyDunne: Julius Peppers' back-to-back pressures on Stafford at 28-14 with 7:21 left that gave Green Bay the ball back.

watch game film?

This stuff is just unacceptable. Not even high school level. Could cost the Packers a playoff game. MM has to get it fixed.

@TyDunne: Blocked Kick No. 7 on the season. Quarless, Tretter probably have to talk more before this one.

I discovered you can hate and love a game at the same time.

He's such a great addition to the defense. Not all of it shows up in the stat sheet, but that guy is killing it with GB - great effing pickup.

While the numbers may not be there, the pressure from this D becomes more and more consistent. Perry walking LTs back in to the pocket, guys getting in the pocket to tip the ball, knock an arm. We just haven't seen that kind of pressure is years quite frankly. Again, immediately upgraded by moving personnel around. A hearty thanks to MM's boot.

That's it right there.  I remember when this D was piling up sacks and then go crickets between them while the QB was icing cookies.  Yesterday often looked like a rugby scrum on it's way to the QB.  Just a mass of humanity churning toward Slafford.

Hate to be a negative nancy, but yesterday's defensive performance didn't exactly calm my nerves going into the playoffs.  The Lions yesterday reminded me of the Packers against the Bills: they ran the ball almost at will (Bell averages 4.6 YPC) yet let Stafford throw the ball 40+ times (vs. 19 called runs).  And if Stafford had any kind of accuracy, he'd have connected on at least 6 more big time plays (20+ yard completions, 3rd downs, etc).  He connects on a few of those errant throws and they have better balance, different ball game (just like the Packers-Bills).  Dallas will have balance.  And Romo is playing as well as any QB in the league not named Rodgers.  If the defense plays like this against Dallas, I don't see them winning.

I will give them a lot of credit at the end though.   They got pressure on Stafford those last 2 drives, effectively ending the game.  I'm obviously being over critical but we're the number 2 seed in the NFC which means the Super Bowl is in sight.  But this defense needs to play better if they're going to get past Dallas AND Seattle.  Step one?  Never allow Brad Jones and AJ Hawk to set foot on the field.

Anyone catch Mike Daniels almost out of body experience - post game comments on Aaron Rodgers playing on one leg. Daniels looked and sounded like he was ready to lace them up and go play Detroit again. A very motivated Mike Daniels is a good thing.

A good chunk of those missed throws were the result of pressure.  And yes, Bell had a series where he was running the ball well calling the same play, some where they had him dead to rights.  Richardson blew a tackle and there was some slop but overall the defense held up their end of the deal very well.

Daniels, Hyde, Bulaga

The team can clearly use more non AJ Hawks

I'm stunned

Great suggestion on the radio.  Since this is Jone's second personal foul this year for hitting a QB in the head, Packer fans should take up a petition to the NFL to have Jones suspended for a game or two.

Both Richardson and another defender hit Bell high, around the shoulders -  and bounced off

Make the damn tackle and its a loss of several yards.

@ByRyanWood: With NFC North on line, FA signings Julius Peppers and Letroy Guion led #Packers pass rush with 7 QB hurries. Peppers' 5 were a season high.

Thanks Ted

Thanks Ted indeed

And the next small-brain at X4 that bitches about his actions/inactions in Free Agency is gonna get a knuckle sandwich delivered right to the kisser...

( PS - I hired an actual tough guy to deliver it       )
