Defense did enough to win. Holding that offense to just 10 points is more than we could have hoped for. We were +2 in Turnover Diff for crying out loud.

On the flip side, people b*tch about Capers scheme being too complicated, but how much more effective would this O have been if they would have gone a little more traditional with the gameplan. None of the formations and even most of the plays were conducive to Lacy's running style...these short handoffs out of shotgun or these crappy short tosses don't fit his style. He's a classic north/south  I-back who needs a little bit of head of steam before he heads into the line. Also we are wasting a roster spot on a FB that we don't use as a FB or anything really. McCarthy runs these terrible plays and then wonders why the running game can't produce, well it's because you're not playing to your runners strengths. And as we saw today, we have a perfectly capable TE that barely gets used because Jordy is in a favorable matchup? Use the TE, get Cobb in space, use the screen, run from the I, run from the reverse Wish, etc. Stop with the K-Gun crap and play to your strengths...Mike McLevy wants to run 70 plays a game though.

I just don't think you so easily recover from a devastating turnover on your first possession. It sets the whole tone for the game and did today even though they came back to tie it. GB was able to get the W last week at home, but I personally feel it just takes them out of their game plan and rhythm right off the bat. You see it happen a lot in the NFL. Stuff kind of snowballs.

OL was mentioned a bit in earlier posts, but they were dominated today which effed up the performances of a lot the skill players. Yeah AR played like crap and Eddie Murphy looked pedestrian, but it starts up front. I put a big part of today on the OL.

.. at least a lot of people are waking up to the idea that MM isn't such a hot coach after all.

Everyone has for so long just blamed the D, without so much as thinking about the O, probably because the media loves both MM and AR.  I sum it up like this; Game 1, Pack vs Seattle, MM prevents AR from throwing the entire time to Shermans side of the field.  Either thats a vote of no confidence in AR, or you are very one dimensional.

Watching this Seattle-Denver game right now, Paytons first throw was right at Sherman.  And several more times since. A good coach doesn't buy into media hype, and doesn't play to keep from losing.  As a long time shareholder and fan, I can say that at most of our losses, the D is a part of it, but we haven't looked really good in over 3 years (unless you want blindly accept the vomit ESPN spits out).  And now, for whatever reason, we look terrible.. We probably shouldn't have won last week, and the thing is with the "any given sunday" BS, well, eventually luck runs out. Losing to the Lions.. and honestly, the Bears look like a much better team as well.  Its unfortunate, but I think this may be the start of some turmoil, and hopefully in a few years, maybe some rebuilding.

We should have picked up Johnny football this year.  Back to my hole.

Why didn't you call him a "bitch?" That would have made your retort so much more powerful. Shoeless is right.

Pos

Not much...but...

Neal

Peppers

Negs

Fumble

Rodgers was not taking what the defense was giving him: tries to dump ball to Starks, while he has 10 yds open field to the sideline

Rodgers had happy feet

What happened to the no huddle quick schemes?  MM talked big on that and it is been a dud

Defense caved when they needed a stop.  11 of 18 Third Down attempts by Lions.

Stupid penalty by Taylor on kick-off

Dumbest play of the year to hand off to Lacy in the EZ and then get a Safety.

Offensive play-calling in general was borderline terrible.  No screens, quick slants, or TE curls.

Packers couldn't get FG attempt on these guys.

Troll time!

just getting old I guess but my emotions tied to the Packers winning or losing a game is pretty much over as soon as the game is over. USed to stay with me for a while but watching a bad packer game like today is like watching a bad movie. Its over when you walk out or turn the TV off. Ted Thompson and MM are going to do what they want regardless of how much the fans screams. And rightfully so. Getting emotionaly involved is not going to change anything.

I deserve the full flush.  No low flow toilets for this guy!

Defense played well enough to win. Stafford had ZERO TD's and three forced turnovers, that's a strong outing by the defense. Disappointed in letting Bush go off a bit , and the lack of toughness on Detroits  last several 3rd down runs to seal the game. But again, nice outing by the much maligned defense, winning performance.

Nice outing by Starks, Quarless, and  jordy.

Have never been a big MM fan, and always thought Rodgers made him look better than he is as a coach. They both sucked ass today. Course the OL getting worked by Fairley and Suh made it tough sledding.

Ezekiel 25:17."The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the iniquities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know I am the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon you." I been saying that **** for years. And if you heard it, that meant your ass. I never gave much thought to what it meant. I just thought it was some cold-blooded **** to say to a mother****er before I popped a cap in his ass. But I saw some **** this morning made me think twice. See, now I'm thinking, maybe it means you're the evil man, and I'm the righteous man, and Mr. 9 millimeter here, he's the shepherd protecting my righteous ass in the valley of darkness. Or it could mean you're the righteous man and I'm the shepherd and it's the world that's evil and selfish. I'd like that. But that **** ain't the truth. The truth is, you're the weak, and I am the tyranny of evil men. But I'm trying, Ringo. I'm trying real hard to be the shepherd."
