If the Packers hold their opponent under 20, they're going to win a LOT more than they lose.

Of course we all want to see 2011 version of the offense. Still have plenty to work on but scoring 27 points on any team except maybe the Dolphins is pretty good for a so called "bad offense."

They scored 27 points against what is probably a top 10 defense this year.....and you losers are crying about the offense.

Just a note....the guys in Denver get paid too.

If it was not for the D,  the O would not have been able to score 27.   D won this game.  O is average at best right now.  But I'll take the win.

I'll echo.  Living off turnovers won't be sustainable vs better teams.  This D is not a one trick pony but I do worry we started to see some cracks in it when an O like Denver's can start marching through.  I'll pencil in L vs DAL and KC.  This O sorely lacks better WRs.

And yeah, I'd forgotten what it looked like to have 2 effective OLBs and a dynamic CB.

Eagles will be a good test, but looking to Dallas the Sunday after as a measure of where the O is. It's after a mini-bye. Still if the O is as bad Thursday, then we can at least hit the end-of-preseason panic button.

++  The offensive line, Bakh, Jenkins, Linsley, Turner, Bulaga,  on the radio broadcast after the game,  M. Tausher said " Arod was hurried only once today.  And later when Rodgers was interviewed, he said,  " That was the cleanest his jersey had ever been at the end of a game. "

Didn’t watch...Any major injuries?   Does MLF script the first plays?  Seems like the offense has gotten off to a good start in the first quarter and then stall later in the game.  Maybe the other teams D coaches are out adjusting us?

Why does it feel like the season is over already?

3-0 with wins vs Bears and Queens.   Did you expect that before the season started?    Appreciate what we’ve accomplished and be optimistic knowing we certainly haven’t seen the best from the O.

Jaire is a star. Not just a great cover guy. Makes 2-3 impact plays every week. I LOVE watching Savage play S. Another youngster that looks like a playmaker. I get a little worried watching him flying up from deep middle to take on RB's and TE's. That man is fearless.

Also thought Jenkins held his own very well in his first NFL start against a good interior DL.

Not that anybody gives a damn, but I have no problem with LaFleur.  I couldn't be more excited, impressed, or on board with him right now.  I bitch about Rodgers, because that's what I think the problem is.  No different than when McCarthy was the HC.

A negative for me, again, is 63.  Shouldn't be too much longer before 74 gets in there, or we get a different option.  Vikings got a bunch of crap for taking a C early, but he looked OK to me, especially for a rookie.

Don't disagree.  I think Linsley and Taylor are pretty damn average.

The Vikings get shit for taking a C in the first round.

If this offense continues to stall out like this by mid-season, I'll be right there with you wondering WTF Rodgers is doing.  At worst, this is an average oline.  Turner and jenkins are big upgrades.  If Jenkins really comes on he may be able to cover for Linsley's average play.

It's my hope this offense finds it's identity by mid-season.  Having a defense to give the offense cushion, winning over two tough division opponents cannot praised enough.

I don’t think there were any major ones. Z Smith and Gary got dinged up during the game but went back in. I think the defense’s pride was injured more than anything getting gashed in the run game two weeks in a row.

We’ve faced three very good DL in 3 weeks, I think that has a lot to do with the inconsistency. I think the book on our offense right now is that you shouldn’t fear AR. The O won’t beat you with the running game and the receivers (sans Adams) won’t kill you, so you can pin your ears back and force Rodgers to make a great throw every play. He often does and he often doesn’t. We just need another elite playmaker to balance things out. MVS is a good #3/4 option, but there’s no TE presence to speak of and no slot presence to speak of. Hard to move the ball with the defense more/less teeing off every play. In the past defenses only worked to contain Rodgers production, now they’re taking the fight to him.

I wholeheartedly agree, is this a pos or a neg?

Not that I'm an OC, nor do I stay at  Holiday Inn Express, but I thought we should be running the plays the Broncos did; let the rush come up field and throw behind the ILBs and in front of the DBs. Quick 3 or 5 step drops and fire as soon as you hit the last one.

I'm beginning to wonder if poor rush defense is a direct result of our ILB situation? Tackling/getting a guy on the ground has been a constant problem no matter who is on the DL. We seem to do pretty good chasing stretch plays, but up the gut is soft.

I wonder if this slow start by the offense will linger? Perhaps Hackett can call plays? Or is this simply going to continue until it becomes second nature and improve. I would like to see more WRs get involved. But I really love how the defense has improved. The takeaways can help until the offense gets on track.

Paws

  • J. Williams running with purpose.
  • Jaire is becoming a play maker.
  • Savage looks great every week.
  • O-Line pass pro.

Negs

  • Middle of the D.  Too many big holes right up the gut.
  • Dropped passes and penalties stalling drives.

We're 3-0 and still trending up.    Take care of business at home Thursday against the Igles and we are an undefeated team 1/4 through the season.   Who saw that coming?   There will be losses this year but I get the sense that this TEAM has something special brewing.   Watching Jones hand the ball to Jenkins for the TD celebration and the D celebrating as a unit is awesome.   It's been a long time since I've been optimistic about the trend of this team.

It’s interesting the contrast between the offense and defense right now. The D has multiple vocal veteran leaders who are mentoring and motiving young players, unifying the group, and stepping up big when needed. The offense seems to lack any leaders at it seems. I think Rodgers, Bakh, and Adams are good leaders, but they seem to be more lead-by-example than vocal leaders. It was different when we had Sitton/Lang on the OL who were very vocal and guys like Driver and Jordy being vocal and stepping up and making plays. Need a Z Smith on offense to bring the unit together and a Jaire to make the plays we need made.

AR seems to be having trouble buying in on new offense. Hopefully this will change. Need a TE who can catch the ball, block & get open. The 10 mil TE has not shown he's worth the $$$ in my opinion. Hope D soon will tighten up the D in the middle of the field. Still damn happy the PACKERS have won their first 3 games.

Gary is learning.  He got thumped and beat a few times as well.

If he can learn from the Smiths and flatten out the ups and downs he should be OK.

Was glad to see MVS step up and have a solid game.  Same thing with Aaron Jones.  A Rod and Davante can’t do it all.  Need the TEs to make more plays.  The downside?  I’m getting close to being done with Geronimo Alison.   He’s had plenty of time in this system and seems to have earned Rodgers trust but he isn’t playing like a #5 WR much less a #2.

Was glad to see the D pull this one out.  Denver is better than 0-3.   You beat Philly Thursday night and it’s all about house money.  I thought they’d split their first 4 games.

Another pos.

On their 1st possession of the 4th qtr, they held the ball for 7:41, Rodgers was perfect on the drive, and they got points to make it a 2 score game.

That was a massive drive and underappreciated.  Great note H5!

I still think the O is figuring things out as they refuse to show all their cards.  The frustration that's seen at times may just be from not doing the foundation stuff correctly right now.

It's a learning process yet for the O and there's some kind of formula for that offense right now.  I can't wait to see the final once it gets melded to 12s skills too.

Nobody predicted 3-0 for the Pack right now.    I sure didn't (but did hope).

All the home games are now, it's time to make that house money grow.

Craig Hentrich is back in GB.  To think soo many people complained about wasting a 5th round pick on a field changer like Scott...  Offense is still a little out of sync.  I Just think how scary this team will be when 12 gets into his groove.   The raven Greene injury is looking bigger each week.  I hope Burke is back on Thursday.
