Seriously?  Shut the front door!  It was a difference of 8-10 yards in starting position.  Sorry, but there were much more important things.

The problem with Ross was not that he had one boneheaded return, the problem is that he made the same the mistake several times.

That is the kind of thing that gets a player who just made the team cut.

Typical around here after a tough loss. Any criticism met with mob-like bullying.

Lets face it- the D came up short. They needed two stops in the 4th q to have a chance to win. They gave up 10 points in 5 minutes. The running game was no-go most of the day. They had 2 inexcusable turnovers.

But the DL definitely looks better than a year ago. The middle of the field was still too soft, but they have time to get better. Hey, the defending champs and all their "tallant" were 2 FGs better than the Packers at home. It doesn't have any more meaning than that. But this defense still has a long way to go before they can help this team get where they need to be. Another 500+ yard game... Discouraging.

Did not say he was the root cause Dude!  He sucks and I hope he's gone!

negatives

pass rush

secondary. wow, Bush, McMillian were awful

McCarthy had a rough game

Capers looked to have no answers/adjustments

Not even close to forcing a TO

why no screen passes??!?!?

cut Ross

positives

CM3 was all over the place

run defense was stout up the middle

Jermichael (aside from the tipped INT)

Lacy could dominate if we can get him a little help

Nelson and Cobb were both spectacular

Have you tried not being a candy ass?

Did you realize the defense actually help keep this team in the game when the offense and STs was making the mistakes?  Yeah, gassed defense with two injured starters in the middle of the field on the road against the defending NFC champs.  Get over your persecution complex and live with your take.

The pimple remark was for Rusty.  Friendly fire.

You're wrong about EDS.  The guy maxed out as "capable backup".  He is a liability against good teams.

..what really annoys me is that EDS is limited, but we continually ask him to make "reach" blocks on the zone stretch play that he can not physically make. They end up with a dlineman in our backfield & a 2-3 yard loss. It is one thing that he is the best we have, but then don't ask him to do things he can not possibly do!!

One of the ways I like to judge a defense is how they play late in the game with a lead.

GB defense today not good!

Wait, you already do... you get my point.

Sitton had a bad game but do you really think the best player on the Oline having a bad game against San Fran is a good reference for defending a consistently pedestrian slug at C?

Here's one for you, how much was the rest of the line compensating for soft play at center?  It's a unit and I know I saw EDS completely ****ing whiffing on tackles/blocks compared to the holding penalties against one of the strongest DTs in the league.

I completely understand Sitton is the best OL on the roster, just throwing a counterpoint out there.  You continuously single out EDS as a problem, yet his coaches and TT are satisfied with him as are media members who attend camp every day.

Yea, I saw a few missed block today by EDS but he wasn't the only one by an stretch of the imagination.

He is a problem, not even a debate.  Like I said, he's a backup in a starter role.  They drafted Tretter because they believed so much in EDS.

Right now he is the best option.  He defaulted into the job because the oline competition has been hampered by injuries.  Van Roten?  Practice squad player.  He's a backup, nothing more.

And I agree that he wasn't the only problem but he's a consistent problem.  Shout out to Campen.

I was not impressed with McCarthy's decision-making.  I was incredulous when, the play before Matthew's penalty for hitting Kaperprick out of bounds, McCarthy accepted a 5-yard penalty and gave the niners 3rd and 6 instead of 4th and 1 and a possible fg attempt.  Then the refs screwed up the call on the offsetting penalties and gave SF yet another chance at a TD instead of fg.

And yes, they should release Ross.  One boneheaded return decision is bad enough, but two is totally unacceptable.  That's the only responsibility he has in the game.  Also have to feel there is a better center out there looking for work.

What's the adjustment?  Bringing Bush for Hyde.  Changing from man to zone?  Seems like that was done but you're churning the bottom of the roster at that point.  What are these adjustments?

You have a generic response.
