and don't forget, our QB is still struggling through his own slump.   Bill & Rookie on the radio this morning said AR was childish and a tool in his post-game presser yesterday.  I hope he was upset with himself and the handful of plays he left on the field.

I heard that too.  I hope Rodgers isn't going all Favreian on us.  He better not start getting that "holier than though" attitude.  I'm not seeing much of a "leader" mentality from him this year.  Rodgers is a hell of a player, but he has not impressed me on the field or off the field this year.

Something happened during week #6 when we barely beat the Chargers then multiplied during the bye week.

We haven't found out what happened yet. Rodgers is definitely different this year, now, but it didn't start out that way.

Did everyone forget his performance vs. Seattle this year? He was hands down the MVP of the league in that game.

Maybe something happened to make Rodgers want out of Green Bay? Pure speculation on my part but something still isn't right.

Issues in the locker room? Again, speculation on my part.

We will find out eventually

Comments about "no clear cut direction".  Then the stupid comment about throwing it to Woodson which nobody found funny.  Last week he made fun of McCarthy's accent, which seemed unnecessary.

The Seahawk game and the Chiefs game he was playing as well as anyone I had ever seen.  We haven't even seen flashes of that in the last 7-8 games.

I think Rodgers was just frustrated.  The receivers blew a couple of TD opportunities.  Rodgers could have walked away with at least 3 TDs passes if the receives had done their jobs.  On top of that, Rodgers threw an uncharacteristic interception - one of the worst of his career.  So instead of having a solid game in a win - something around 250 yds and 3 tds - Rodgers put up 200 yds, 1 td, and 1 terrible int.

That bothers him.  Rodgers is competitor and a perfectionist.

If he wants out of Green Bay he is just one big phony.  I personally think he is just having a bad year and can't handle it.  I think the whole "chip he has had on his shoulder" has made it hard for him to accept when he isn't playing great.  It has been many years since anyone has been able to criticize him for anything.  He has now heard the criticism and can't handle it too well.

I said "speculation on my part". He's smart enough to know not to say that $hit to the media. SOMETHING is going on & perhaps it's just the perfectionist in Aaron.

This year is mirroring 2010 so far. Hope our boys can keep it going

Yah, something happened either before the bye or right after it.  He is just not the same.  Sure hope whatever IT is gets fixed or it's good bye early round of playoffs. They look terrible.

33 TD's. 10 INT's. 3,402 yards. 58.8 completion percentage.

29 TD's. 6 INT's. 3,379 yards. 60.8 completion percentage.

One stat line belongs to 2015 MVP favorite Cam Newton. The other belongs to the guy that has fallen apart in 2015, Aaron Rodgers.

One, if not the most important stat for the passing game is "average yards gained per pass attempt". This stat. is second, only to turn-over differential, in correlation to winning individual games in the NFL. As you can see AR is 28th in this category this year.  http://espn.go.com/nfl/statist.../yardsPerPassAttempt

AR was 9th in his first year as starter & in the top 5 every other year until the present.

I prefer ARod to Cam and always will.

But if you're going to post stats, I think it is only fair to include these: 119 rushes for 580 yards & 7TDs compared to 52/313 and 1TD.

Cam is winning games through the air and with his legs.

I think Rodgers is in the same place Favre was circa 1999-2000. Favre spent what should have been two years in the prime of his career throwing to an older/slower Freeman, Bill Schroeder, and Corey Bradford (guys who had trouble getting separation or didn't really appear to know what they were doing). His TEs were either Tyrone Davis or a slow-footed TE with good hands in Bubba Franks. Eventually Driver developed and Javon Walker looked like a Pro Bowler for a year, but it was really Ahman Green that got them out of their funk.

Rodgers is throwing to an older/slower James Jones, Davante Adams, and Cobb, to go along with a slow footed TE. Cobb is better than anyone Favre had back then, but Jones isn't as good as Freeman, and Adams isn't even as good as Schroeder.

Favre responded by throwing 42 TD and 39 INTs in those two years and the Packers missed the playoffs. Rodgers is at 29 and 6 this year and they are at 10-4.

Let's see what Rodgers does with 3 NFL level, competent WRs next year before we write him out of Green Bay's future.

So Cam has  accounted for 40 TD and Rodgers has accounted for 30. Big difference and a more complete and honest look at the stats. While I dislike Cam as much as most, hard to deny he is having a great season( not to mention being coupled with a very good defense and top running game).

I don't think it would be as big of issue if it were just about Rodgers struggling. He's lost his best WR and had varying injuries effect the rest. But when you combine it with him acting like a petulant child, it deserves to be brought front and center.

Ty Montgomery got hurt in the first half of the Charger game - that's what happened. It was 14-3 and the Packers were near mid-field on a drive that eventually got them to 17-3 (Janis caught a long pass that wasn't even intended for him to set up the FG). The Packers scored 10 points the rest of that game (about 40 minutes of game time). They haven't been the same since.

They started the year with Nelson/Cobb/Montgomery/Adams as their top 4 WR (roughly in that order) and then after Nelson went down it was Cobb/Montgomery/Adams/Jones. After Montgomery went down it was Cobb/Adams/Jones/Janis.

Instead of seeing the #2 CB, Cobb is matched on the top CB. Instead of the nickel back, Adams is on the #2 CB. Instead of a safety or the dime back, Jones is matched up with the #3 CB.

The matchups are all now in favor of the defense in man to man.

It's one of 3 things.  Aaron being a pouty perfectionist, the team being sick of being asked "why are you playing poorly" when they have 10 wins, or something else going on we don't know about.

Normally I'd go with the first, as his attitude in the presser was not much different than other times after losses they've had.  But this was a win.  Guy needs to take his own advice and R-E-L-A-X.

Up through the Rams game there wasn’t much concern for the offense, at least not from the media in McCarthy’s pressers. Then…

After the Rams, during Chargers week:

  • (On tape) Offense wasn't our strength. Fundamental improvement a lot to go around. Fact you're able to win despite that tells you what kind of team you have. We want to be a football team that can beat you a number of different ways. We're making steps toward that. We have some guys who are beat up. This is an imporant stretch for us. We need to do a better job with our mental preparation.
  • (On offense's problems) There’s nothing going on. It’s football. It’s the way you compete in this league. It's about match-ups, scheme, flow and things that happen around you. To me, this was a very healthy day for our offense to go through. I think this is exciting that we're a team that wants to beat you as much as possible.

After the bye, during Broncos week:

  • (On self-scout) We spent a couple days last week on the self-scout and over the weekend. We looked at the statistics, if you believe that. ... The fundamentals are what we're going to concentrate on. ... Just recognizing the fact of how people are going to try to attack us in the future. San Diego's empty formation. We call it shrink. ... Just having some cleaner things as we move forward there. A lot of self-scout for us was reinforcement. We've done a lot of good things. We have six good weeks to build off.
  • (On specifics of fundamentals) Blocking, tackling. ... I think the phrase of chasing perfection is a solid part of this game. We're going to pad them up and get after it (today).

After the Broncos, during Panthers week:

  • (On being creative offensively) I think it represents frustration. The way we get players opportunities, the decision-making at the line of scrimmage, I think that's frustration for players and coaches. That's part of not having a good day. When you're at 50 plays two weeks in a row, scheme isn't the issue.

That theme, not the scheme but execution, has continued all the way to Clements no longer calling the plays. Taking play calling from TC was also a hit to AR since it was execution and not the scheme.

The INT yesterday from Rodgers could have been a ****-it response to the play called?

Vic, at some point in yesterday’s postgame press conference, it seemed like the reporters were afraid to ask a question, because of Aaron Rodgers’ mood. What did you take away from the press conference that was not directly said, but could be read between the lines?

I didn’t sense any fear for asking Rodgers questions, nor did I sense anything between the lines. I sensed a wonderful give and take between Rodgers and reporters. They asked, he answered. I sensed truth. It was cleansing, and I appreciate his honesty.

I thought Demovsky told us all what the problem was.  ;-)

Being serious though, I never bought into the McCarthy-Rodgers schism in years past but I am starting to take note of the guys who wonder if the town of GB is big enough for both of them.  I guess it seems plausible now, in years past I laughed at the notion.

C'mon....They don't look terrible, just not flawless.

They can beat any team in the league & lose to any team in the league.

I'm not worried.

3 best teams in the NFC are

Arizona / Green Bay / Seattle

Carolina is 4th

Yeah, what happened is that Defensive Coordinators figured out the best way to play us. & everyone other than Dallas has copied it.

Ta Da!!!! Press man on the outside and WRs can't get open, safety in the box and can't run it.

Packers have a bad match up with teams that have 3 CBs let alone 3 good CBs.

Rodgers is frustrated because he doesn't have any weapons except Cobb and he see a safety over every play.

Certainly Rodgers is frustrated, likely not happy with the Clements demotion--and has in the past taken shots at MM's playcalling through the press (see Seattle NFC title game for example)

What better way to give the "FU" to the coach on a dumb play call (boot leg to TE when all you need to do is to kill clock) then  to throw a pass up into the end zone, as in "you called a pass play...here is your pass play"

Rodgers is way too concerned about his interception stats being the lowest in history to do that.

The team struggles more than we're accustomed to, Rodgers gets frustrated, and fans make a lot of guesses about what might be wrong behind the scenes.  I think it's simply due to Rodgers having to rely on other people to win.  He can work tirelessly to be the best he can be, but he can't create the same talent around him.  Favre got frustrated about the same thing, so pouted when TT didn't sign Moss.  Jennings was also pissed about having to depend on another player, not because the player he relied on didn't have talent, but because his QB was so talented he stole the spotlight.  Team sports suck.  Stick to golf.
