Pakrz and I like it. He told me that as I helped him pack for his move to Chicago.

LOVE the pick.

If those fancy measuring drills were perfect, you'd be absolutely right. Sorta like another athletic freak:

Difference is this guy actually produced and isn't a lazy turd.

Washington actually got a card? I suppose they make them for all the rookies, but wow.

I like Perry, I admittedly would have rather had Ingram or McClellin but I'm not complaining. I thought Perry would go before McClellin

I can't wait to see some stunts where he blitzes up the middle.

1 problem with that is his lateral issues means he doesn't play with a low bucket often ehough, CMIII on the other hand has his bucket on the ground.

Greene will have his work cut out IMO ... exciting though. THE glaring need taken with the first pick.
I'm happy we got a pass-rushing OLB, happy Thompson had a choice between Perry and Upshaw. Would have liked McClellin as well, but I go back to what McGinn had to say:

"Many from a group that includes Nick Perry, Whitney Mercilus, Dont'a Hightower, Shea McClellin, Courtney Upshaw, Andre Branch, Vinny Curry, Olivier Vernon, Bruce Irvin and Ronnell Lewis will be there. It's doubtful the Packers would take Mercilus, Hightower or Curry because of fit. Mercilus and Curry are regarded more as 4-3 ends and Hightower has told teams he prefers to remain at inside linebacker. Of the other seven, it would appear as if Perry and McClellin would have the most appeal to Green Bay. Upshaw probably doesn't move well enough to do what the Packers need. Perry is bigger, faster, stronger and more athletic than McClellin, and as a result might have a slightly better chance to be taken ahead of McClellin."

Based on that, hard not to be happy with Perry.
His former teammate at USC, Matt Kalil, said Perry is "the best player that I've ever played against" and a future NFL star.

"Going against him every day, that's why I think it makes it so easy for me in games," Kalil said. "Whatever team gets him, whatever people think if he's overrated or underrated, he's definitely going to be a steal. He's a great player. Hard worker. You can tell by the body what a beast that guy is."
Anything floating around Radio City that TT had Jones on the top of his list?

The fact that TT took Perry tonight instead of trading back and grabbing him tomorrow tells me plenty. I think Perry is going to be a star. Think of what Dereck Wolfe (hoping) in Rd 2 at DE does for CM3, Perry, and Raji?

I get the hate for the Jones pick. I have no idea why they moved up to take Hightower.

No, just an incorrect hunch I had. I envisioned Chandler Jones replacing Cullen Jenkins productivity. Hopefully Perry & CM3 can do for us what Harrison & Woodley do for the Steelers.
I haven't watched a lot of U$C football, but there is no question on paper this guy Perry is an incredible athlete. The # of reps is off the charts as well. So it sounds like he's got very good speed and power, and pretty good (but not great) size.

The only doubts or negatives seem to be while he's got a great 40 time he wasn't as fast moving laterally and he lacks great instincts against the run. Well, I think those attributes are far more important for an ILB than an OLB pass rusher in this scheme, and some of those same things could be said about CMIII.

If you didn't know any better it looked like a CMIII clone out there.
