As someone else posted a while ago, Eddie made a comment similar to this "I am not a football fan''...makes me wonder if he is just burned out on the game and its demand and commitment.

He has NEVER been a conventional player. In article shortly after drafted he revealed that his 3 favorite things to do were eat, sleep, & watch cartoons. Said he does not watch football. He weighed 200 lbs coming out of high school, 230 coming out of Alabama, & now looks to be 250+. I used to have some correspondence with a Packer beat writer who told me some within Packer organization were opposed to drafting Lacy because of these concerns, this is nothing new.

My guess is he doesn't want to play football

On Facebook, he's always talking about how much he loves it, and posts a lot of passionate fire-up type Packer Nation and Roll Tide stuff, loving on the game, the fans, his teammates, etc.  So I don't think this is accurate.

This year is the first time it has happened, right? Where his conditioning has affected his performance? My guess he is a young guy who never thought it would be a problem, as in, he was always able to overcome the offseason and get in shape just in training camp, like a college student cramming for a final.

Mike did the right thing putting him on notice, and my guess is, it won't happen again, and he will report to camp in shape.

I'd like to see the context on that. He is not a fan, he is a player, a "superstar."  He's always saying on FB he loves playing it. He probably just said, "Why would I watch it?"

Plus it is his job. I know when I'm off work, it is the last thing I want involved in my leisure. And everyone loves money. He'll be back. He's not Ricky Williams.

Remember, Eddie got pounded last year, and said he would need the off-season to recuperate. I think he just learned that does not mean you can get out of shape like that.

Thanks FLPACKER, that was the context I was looking for when I responded to GBP1's post. (Guess I should have read the whole thread before responding.)

If he was talking cartoons as in South Park, Family Guy, American Dad and Bob's Burgers, my answer to that question would have been pretty close to his!

Ok here's step one. For the Love of God, can we can keep him at least 100 miles from any chinese restaurant this offseason?

Someone retweeted every Eddie Lacy tweet about food

After Eddie Lacy rattled off a 61-yard run during Green Bay's playoff loss to Arizona, Twitter user @recordsANDradio retweeted every instance of Lacy talking about food. The result was a portrait of a man who loves sleep almost as much as he loves food, and food almost as much as he loves China food.

i want china food....A LOT OF IT

Yep, thanks.  I remember reading that when it first popped up after he was drafted.  And somebody mentioned it earlier this season.  Maybe he is one of these guys who after HS and his grueling years playing for Saban at Alabama, just cannot muster enough commitment for football anymore.   I hope that is not so, but if it is, then too bad so sad.  But gosh, think of what he could be like if dropped about 25-30 Lbs and really got serious...yikes!

I think TT would have wanted to draft a "scat/twitch" back as a 3rd down option but I honestly don't believe he's wanting in any way shape or form to replace Lacy just 3 years out from drafting him, especially considering Lacy was a 2nd rounder.

You don't invest in that high of a pick only to replace him 4 years later.  Exiting the 2014 season, I think TT was thinking this starting RB position would be good to go for many years.
