Notes:

Also lettered in wrestling (three times) and track (once). Redshirted in 2007. Saw action in eight games as a backup in ’08, after not appearing on the depth chart following spring practice, and posted six tackles, one tackle for loss and one sack. Played in all 13 games in ’09, recording 10-1 1⁄2-1 1⁄2. Saw his most extensive action in ’10, playing in all 13 games and making the first eight starts of his career, logging 40-11-4. Started all 13 games at defensive tackle in ’11 and posted 67-13 1⁄2-9 with one pass batted down. Team captain. Was medically excluded from the Combine.

Positives:

Has natural leverage and is difficult to engage. Explosive quickness and disruptive penetrating ability. Highly athletic. Terrific balance and agility — feels pressure and protects his legs. Coordinates quick, active hands and feet and has flexible hips to work an edge. Surprising punch strength. Propels himself off blocks. Ranges to secure tackles and is able to drop into short zone. Rare leaping ability. Is tough and will play hurt. Outstanding football character with leadership traits.

Negatives:

Undersized — is short and lacks ideal height and bulk. Is not stout against the run. Moved by double-teams. Lets his pads rise and gets jostled inside. Rotation player until senior season. Durability needs to be considered — is not built to withstand a 16-week pounding and has been dinged up, including multiple concussions.

Summary:

Small-framed, explosive, upfield penetrator with outstanding athletic ability and tireless work habits. Is not suited to handle a large percentage of snaps, but provides value as a sub-package rusher.

Wow, TT is sending a big message to the defense, ie: if you can't get it done, we'll find guys that can. With the exception of Pickett, Raji, Bishop, CMIII, Woodson, Williams and Burnett, every other player is at risk of losing their job if they don't perform on the field. Good message to send too, because the defense was embarrassing last year.

In the 6th and 7th rounds, just hoping for a developmental C, QB and RB.
I like that he has a wrestling background as well, lettered 3 times in wrestling. That means he knows alot about leverage etc.

Also, while he may be short at 6' even, he has 32 1/2" arms, which are as long as many of the other DT's this year who are a good 2-5"s taller. Plus, ran a 4.84 40 (at least per my draft Guide)

So, I'm liking this pick as a rotational guy, especially on passing downs.

Plus, he can get low......Agree with what you said...
From PACKERS.com;
At 6-0, 291, Daniels is undersized, but he made opened eyes with a strong Insight Bowl performance against Oklahoma. He had two sacks and three tackles for loss in that game.

Daniels was selected with the 132nd overall pick.

Daniels led the Hawkeyes in sacks and tackles for loss each of the last two seasons. He had 24 1/2 tackles for loss and 13 sacks combined in 2010 and 2011. He started 21 games over those two seasons, earning second-team All-Big Ten honors from multiple publications last year.

A native of New Jersey, Daniels was a running back and defensive lineman in high school.
Seems a little undersized for DT. Wonder if he'll bulk up some, probably will as he's still a young man.

With the addition of Perry, Daniels and Hargrove (and don't forget Guy from last year), I'd say guys like Wynn, Wilson, and yes, Mike Neal might be sweatin' a bit. That could be a good thing!!
Well, they should be- that group showed almost nothing last year. If the group you have didn't get the job done, you replace them.

This guy is built like Warren Sapp, and as a pass rush guy he may be a great addition. He gets underneath really really well, and seem to play with an edge that this DL sorely needs.

Loving the pick even more now.

It's only a 60 second clip. But I like how he quietly goes about his business and just get's after it.
Does he play all three downs? Nope, but how many guys on this D do? All the DL rotates and everyone but Raji is situational. That this guy looks like a situational player is just fine with me. Some games he might hardly see the field and the next he might play a lot. Speed is the theme of this draft, as well as a high motor. Another tool in the box for Dom.
I think Mr. Wynn and Mr. Wilson are on their way out of Titletown. Howard Green is already gone.

Raji
Pickett
Hargrove
Worthy
Daniels
Neal (eventually)

On paper (which they obviously don't play on) that's a considerably better looking group than what we ended last year with.
Sounds like Hargrove. Not quite big enough to play every down, but has the quickness and relentlessness to contribute on passing downs.

I really like how TT has picked DL this draft. Both Worthy and Daniels seem like penetrating DE's that can cause problems in the backfield. Last year, the DL had no one like that. Hope it works out.
Hargrove - Daniels and Worthy all have that quick first step - disruptive thing going for them

Daniels and Hargrove are also relentless big motor guys.

Agree with coachya...W W days probably numbered.

Is Muir #97 or is that So'to....I get those two confused.
NFLN Bucky Brooks on Daniels - Daniels will fight for a playing time on a deep and talented Packers front line. He brings some intriguing tools to the table, but he will need to impress early to crack the lineup.

Talk about pulling a quote out of your @ss.
