They lose this game with ARod.  Can't explain it, but the team seemed to give up when things weren't going right.  Seems the opposite with Love.

I would like your post so much more without this section.

Aaron Rodgers is a NY Jet and isn't even playing. Focus on the positive not "what ifs"

Biggest plus of the game was MLF realizing that going for 2 down 14 points gave the Packers a better shot at winning the game then playing for the tie and seeing what happens in OT. Conventional wisdom says to kick the extra point, score another touchdown, kick that extra point and tie the game at 17-17. Theoretically, the Packers scored those last two touchdowns would have the momentum as they likely would be heading into overtime. But this obscures one crucial point, the goal is to win the game, not tie it. Tying the game simply means you're asking your Joe Barry defense to make another stop and your offense to put together a third scoring drive, rather than two. If overtime is involved, this brings a coin flip into the equation, where your offense must score a third touchdown (if you win the toss) or make a stop and then kick a field goal (if you lose the toss). If the 2-point try was successful, the Packers would now trail 17-11, and another touchdown plus an extra point wins you the game. What's more statistically likely: putting together three consecutive scoring drives (7 + 7 + 3) or converting one 2-point conversion (8 + 7)? If the Packers' 2-point try didn't work, keeping their deficit at 17-9, that didn't doom their hopes. It's still a one-possession game at that point. A touchdown and a 2-point conversion ties the game, leaving the Packers exactly where they'd been had they just kicked the PAT. But even if you miss both 2 point conversions, your still OK. Remember, kicking two extra points still requires three scoring drives to win -- TD, TD, FG. But missing both 2-point tries still leaves you with a chance to win the game in three drives in this scenario -- 6 + 6 + 3 gives you 15 points, enough to erase a 14-point deficit.

I read the same article...give the author credit.

What sticks out in my mind is the rushing touchdown from Love. The announcers said right before the play, "Jordan Love told us that if he scored a rushing touchdown, he was doing a Lambeau Leap."

Well, he scored a rushing touchdown, and the idea of leaping into the stands to celebrate didn't play in his body language for even a fraction of a second. He didn't give a damn about the personal glory. He wanted to win, and he was immediately getting prepared to go for 2.

Rodgers, as great as he was, would have been doing the belt, or chirping at one of the other team's players. I think this one play summed up everything about Jordan Love.

There were times today that he reminded me of Favre. The joy in playing, in playing well, in coming back with his team, was evident to everybody in the stadium, and everybody watching on tv.

There will be some growing pains on occasion. But let's take stock of where #10 is three games into his career as starter. He's 2-1 with 7 TD passes and 1 pick, and a rushing TD. He's had some beautiful runs (that 24 yarder today was a thing of beauty down the sidelines).

He hasn't had anywhere near his entire starting unit around him, and he's playing at a pretty high level.

Yeah, I'm excited. So sue me. We've got a quarterback and a leader, and they're wearing the same number. If this team can just get healthy, and stick together for a while, this offense is going to go places.

The difference I saw this week was that Lafleur went for it more often than not on fourth down, and went for 2. They didn’t always succeed, but that attitude carried them to victory.

As much as we dislike Joe Barry, the defense was able to mostly shut down their experienced back up QB in 2nd half.

Great team win.

Let’s clean up those penalties and tame the Lions.

+Great game-- what a win considering the injuries and the comeback

-- I have no patience and as a result watch the vast majority of games on a DVR delay and before that VCR tape---I cannot sit through the extraordinary plodding stoppages of the game.  I go about my day, I have simple strategies to not hear the score and enjoy the game as if I am watching it live in the evening----evening games are tough for me...Here in central Illinois, I have had such good luck avoiding the score and game info that I have gotten lackadaisical and sloppy--I wore a packer shirt to our coffee shop for lunch--and was told about the horrors of the first half....and then watching last evening as the score was 17-3 with about 10 minutes left, I needed a break, took the dogs for a walk and a friend yelled from her car that it was a great day to be a packer fan......so----the joy of suspense was gone----but also the potential coronary I might have had was also gone----it was still still joyful

I was never that brave to try that and I have way too many family members that text about the game in real time. I’ve tried it with preseason games, but even that was a fail…I set a game to record and as I was out and about, my phone was blowing up and I knew someone must have gotten hurtβ€”that’s the only reason anyone would text during a preseason gameβ€”-it was Jordy’s knee.
